A big group of us came here for a friends birthday which we do quite often and we are always on the lookout to try new places and it was a let down. The food was fine. Not enough to bring us back after the service though. There were about 15 of us and we understand it’s hard to serve and big party but our waitress made it very clear how awful it was. She was so rude and unprofessional and we all work in service so we know m there are better ways to handle what might be a difficult party. But because we all work in service, we know what’s annoying and what’s frustrating and we weren’t taking a long time, we all knew what we wanted to order and we were all waiting to order and doing our best to not the that one big annoying group. At the same time, we were paying customers and we won’t be choosing capos again for a birthday celebration. I did email the manager after this experience and he got back to me right away and I appreciated that.

Second time in and I must say, very disappointed, we had been wanting to try the Sunday brunch and well it fell short. The one plus was our server, she did a descent job at taking care of us. I know the Chef/owner is better then this, we were told he was not there and it is obvious it makes a difference. This is a beautiful place and has the potential to be one of the better places in fresno. For a Sunday brunch it just seemed like not a lot of thought went into it and when you ask for scrambled eggs and you get the over cooked brown on it, well that is not good. Hint, lower heat might help that. We will give it one more shot in the future.

Had the Calimare Dore, it was tuff and leathery. I ate about 3 bites of it. Pasta side dish was over done, looked like leftovers. Waitress never asked why 75% of my plate went uneaten. On a positive note, the Minestrone soup and bread was good. If I ever go back, I’ll stick to soup and pizza.

I’ve been here 3 times. Twice with my family and once for my work christmas dinner. The food was always good. The service was not. I’d love to go back just for the food. But for the price and service I received it’s just not worth it. On my last visit our server kept going outside to the patio to talk with a guy whom was hanging out, out side the patio area. What a waste of a possibly awesome place.

My girl has never been so happy! Best pasta ever! I highly recommend requesting The Porky Mac but change to Gnocchi. It is a MouthGasm. To put it mildly. Also the alcohol based chocolate cake is an absolute winner at 3am of said girlfriend.

I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I gave this place two chances, and for the price the results have left me no choice. In this day in age with all of us having the power to be food and establishment critics ya gotta be on you game! First time I went was for my nephews birthday party. That was two weeks ago. There was 18 people in our party. We were promptly greedier at the door and seated. The atmosphere is very Tuscan charming and seemed well designed. Our servers were all friendly but never seem to be around. Our main server was very patient and professional. I don’t want to say the service was lousy, but it certainly was not the best, but at this point I didn’t want to judge my first visit by the service. Then the food started to arrive, and complaints started to fly… The main complaint was cold food. I ordered the Lobsters pasta. It was cool and flavorless. There was big chunks of lobster but no flavor and had a strong seafood smell. There is good news! My husband lasagna dish was piping hot and tasted great, along with my nieces rigatoni pasta dish… In fact her dish was the only thing that convinced me to go back! I wanted to taste that pasta again! So tonight I asked my husband if he would be willing to try take out. He agreed! Of course he wanted the lasagna again and I wanted my nieces rigatoni I tried the first time there. Sad to say my husbands dish was very cold and mine was just mediocre. My soup was Luke warm. We live 5 minutes from Capos so it’s not like it had time to get that cold. We order from other Italian restaurants and our food always comes piping hot. I’m not going to elaborate because I think everybody deserves fairness and what I like and you like is always going to be indifferent. But this is how I feel about this restaurant this is my review but don’t hesitate to try it you may like it or maybe someone will catch on to the other bad reviews and they’ll make some changes so if they’ve made changes and you see differences leave a good review! Maybe I will give it another shot!

Food was top notch and large portions. Minestrone soup was amazing and wedge salad were a great start. We also had Chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a burger all were five star and their staff were all awesome and attentive. We will be back

Ugh. I really wanted to like this place. In my opinion there were only two things great about Capos and that’s the décor and LuLu the bartender. The service was horrible. For a $ 20 per plate dinner I expect my drink to be refilled and the food to be above average. The salad had freezer burned lettuce and the dressing was watered down. The pasta was well cooked, however the proteins were dry in both dishes. I understand that they were busy, but it was just a Wednesday night. I believe that extra training for their servers and a few more servers hired would do wonders. Just so disappointed and underwhelmed.

Had a company dinner here last night. Everything was pretty disappointing. We had to keep ordering different cocktails because the waitress kept coming back to apologize and tell us that even though she had said they had the supplies to make it, turns out they didn’t. After that one of us was served a God awful Shirley temple made with club soda. I asked for a fork with my salad and never got one until after dinner arrived. The food was very average and we were not impressed. The waitress also told us they had their peanut butter cake but once again had to come back and tell us they actually didn’t. She had mentioned something about being new so I held back from writing a review until I opened up my box of leftovers for lunch to find that they had flipped my manicotti completely upside down to send home with me.

Had a 7:00 birthday reservation for 25 people on a Saturday night. The empty bar and tables should’ve been red flag number 1. Then I ordered a double vodka Collins… So sour and next to no booze. My fault for not watching him poor. Should’ve had 2 servers for a party this size, but got 1 who had a hard time keeping track of drink orders. When we finally got our food at 8:45, all the pasta dishes were overcooked and mushy. My angel hair was so over-cooked it looked like linguini. I ate the 3 small bites of chicken in it and left the rest. Myself and a few others went home and ate dinner at 10:00! I won’t be back here again and I strongly recommend others don’t waste their time either.

My wife and i just ate here tonight and we’re diapointed. Been here before and loved it, although Its Been about 6 or 7 months since our last experience. Things have definitely changed. Food was good, but not great. 18 dollar lasagna should be great. 10 dollar Manhattan should not have a cinnamon taste. When mentioned to bartender, he should have offered to make another drink. Service was OK but not great. Not sure if we’ll be back.

I came here with the bf’s family and I have to say, my experience wasn’t bad at all compared to a lot of reviews on here. I don’t know if it’s because the family I was with knew the owner. I ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich with a garden salad(blue cheese Italian dressing). The salad dressing was killer. The sandwich was delicious as well. All the flavor a complimented each other very well. Chicken was juicy. Delicious. The only issue I had with it was the fact that it was so greasy and oily. But it was delicious. The ambiance is nice and would seem to be great for date nights. I did find it a bit loud for what it appeared to be. We had an excellent waitress. She smiled and continued to refill our drinks throughout our meal. That was awesome.

This is definitely a place with possibilities. Great location at Palm and Nees. Patio could be made to look more inviting and perhaps does look better when the weather is conducive to outdoor eating. Large dining room with plenty of booths that provide some privacy if that is what you are looking for. Huge wine selection. Lunch prices are reasonable. Salads are huge and ingredients are very fresh. Wait staff is definitely not over-attentive and seldom seen. Could probably be a bit more attentive, especially to the orders themselves. If you should need a place for a clandestine lunch, this is the place. Few lunch customers. You can sit far in the back, in one of the high-backed booths, and no one except your server will even know you are there. The canned music is loud enough to cover any conversation. Just arrive and leave separately.

I love Capos. I’ve been here during the FLYP mixers and enjoy their variety of wine they offer. Been a few times for dinner and their Bianco pizza is to die for! I usually am not a fan of white sauce pizza, but you’ve got to try this pizza! Made a reservation for 7:30 pm Saturday night & was seated almost immediately after arriving. Very convenient as it was also prom night for the youngins. We were approach by our waitress who briefly mentioned she was new, but was extra accommodating and friendly. The bread was delicious with the roasted garlic and olive oil. By far, my favorite place for bread! Boyfriend ordered the ribeye with mash potatoes and asparagus and a side of risotto. I ordered the Nonni’s raviolis with half meat sauce & butter Parmesan sauce. The risotto was a little too al dente or crunchy, but we enjoyed it anyway. The ribeye was cooked accordingly, a little too fatty for his preference but still delicious. My ravioli came out piping hot and delicious, but when I took a bite of the butter Parmesan ravioli it was extremely salty. I explained that to our waitress and she mentioned that someone else had their plate brought back as well because of the same issue. She was more than happy to take it back, which made me happy :) When she brought back another plate, it just seemed like the butter Parmesan sauce was watered down and less salty, but whatever works! I still enjoyed it & appreciated that she offered to take it back. Overall, great experience & delicious food and wine. Will definitely come back!

This review is for the Sunday brunch. First, let’s start with the pros: Hostess was welcoming and server(Hannah I think) was accommodating and had cool vibes. There was a decent selection of food to choose from in the buffet, including breakfast stuff(eggs benedict, potatoes, etc) and lunch options(pastas, pizzas, etc). They also offer a make your own omelette station which is nice for people who are into that. The best part was bottomless mimosas for $ 10. You can mix and match between mimosas, bellinis, bloody marys(vodka) and bloody marias(tequila). They are not stingy with the booze in the mimosas, which was also a plus. There were a few cons that need to be mentioned as well though: The food was kind of cold. I know that this is sort of to be expected in buffets, but I was a little worried after a bite of the eggs benedict because it was a temperature that I would worry about food poisoning with. Also, all of the food was just kind of okay. This may be a personal issue and it may just be my palatte since I felt that way about everything and not just one or two items. They use a lot of seasoning in the food that I just wasn’t crazy about. Overall, it’s $ 25 for the breakfast buffet. At Copper River its $ 30 and the spread is way more impressive. I would go back for the drinks though.

Food was okay! Service was very bad, couldn’t believe the hostess was wearing Jesus sandals, in a supposed of high end Italian restaurant. I called 5 days in advance for my reservation inform them it was a birthday dinner and none of this was noted in the reservation. I was told they could do a slice of cake with a candle, none of the above happen! Very disappointed! They need to have a dress code for the hostesses! The other hostess was wearing a pair of white pants with skin hanging out the sides top was too short very non professional wife an ordered Italian wine that smelt like vinegar! I won’t be back! «VERY» DISAPPOINTED!

We were hoping to have an authentic Italian pizza instead of ordering a chain store pizza. We asked for thick crust but the server said they didn’t make thick crust. We asked if he could please ask the cook and he said he would. When the pizza came the crust was very thin with basically no end crust. We thought oh well, that’s fine. But it wasn’t. Not only the the crust thin, it was hard and the flavor of the pizza was salty. Only 3 of 4 of us ate a slice only because we were hungry. We immediately said can we have the check and a box for the rest. I personally was hoping to give it another shot at a slice later. But when we got outside everyone told me to toss the pizza which I threw into the garbage can right outside the restaurant. Now that was a very bad pizza experience. Btw, we had ordered the Guissippe special which I guess is the house pizza?

Went to Capo’s for dinner on Saturday with the hubby. They take reservations(I would make them just to be on the safe side). They were stead busy. The atmosphere felt like you were in Italy but not overly fancy. It feels like a place you can bring your family or share a romantic dinner. Our service was excellent. They checked on us many times and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was very very good! My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan. It was so good, chicken was crisp but juice inside. It comes with a side of pasta. I ordered the seafood cannolini. Very good, it is very filling and cheesy. We also order the sun dried tomato, goat cheese bruschetta. It was delicious. The Italian red wines and very good as well. I would recommend this resturant to anyone and can’t wait to go back.
