Great price on Asian bakery, you would get so much bakery for twenty bucks. I enjoy the fresh roast duck, roast bbq pork on the weekend, and the to go food is not too bad, the portions are generous for the price. A typical family business, I enjoy seeing the whole family working together to prepare food. Lots of work, I greatly admire them. The reason for not five star is the cashiers: the new generation are kind, friendly but the old woman is grumpy, not suit to face customers.

Great Baozi. Best pork buns in the central valley. I love it. Stop there every time I’m in Fresno. Great service and friendly staff.

–This place is CASHONLY. Sometimes I forget so just wanted to remind you all! :) –It’s a bit like a hole in the wall joint, but fabulous in its’ own right. It’s the best place to get pork buns in Fresno, in my opinion.(There’s not much competition though.) I’ve had better ones in places such as San Francisco and Los Angeles but here in Fresno– THIS place is where it’s at. –The pork buns are 95 cents each. They are especially tasty when they are warm. So if you bring them home, word of advice — reheat them for 30 seconds in the microwave and it’ll be delicious! That’s if it makes it all the way home with you of course. I usually scarf them down in the car on the drive home. Lol. –I haven’t tried much else besides the crispy pork and rice dish. It is such a value for money! They have hot foods like crispy roast pork, barbeque pork, chicken, fried rice… etc. All for a really good price and a pretty large portion as well. Although it isn’t super flavorful to me. –This place is a must visit if you are looking for a quick bite to eat or even a yummy handheld snack. :)

When I come here, it’s usually first thing in the morning. My usual go to items are shrimp flat noodles, steamed pork buns, and baked pork buns. The shrimp flat noodles aren’t fancy and you don’t get a lot of shrimps but it’s cheap and it’s tasty. What really draws me here though, are the pork buns. The pork buns are on point! They don’t skimp on the pork filling and the bun is soft and fluffy when it’s fresh. It’s my favorite place for pork buns in Fresno. As for the service, I’m pretty indifferent about it because I know what I want and always get my food to go. The lady up front is not the most welcoming cashier — she’s straight and to the point. I’m guessing she’s the owner or family of the business and instead of hiring friendly outside help, they’re trying to save some money to keep the cost down. Pork buns are 5 stars/Service and setting is 2 stars. This place is more about the food and not the service but if they could improved their service/setting and had a descriptive expanded menu, they could probably make a killing.

Their steam buns are yummy. I got the brown ones which were a little sweet on the outside and the white buns. They both come with pork filling. The lady was so nice she gave me an extra 1. Will Def be back.

3 pm yesterday afternoon and this place is busy, 6 customers in line ahead of me. As I mentioned in previous reviews, you go here for the food and NOTTHESERVICE(there is no friendly service) Yesterday’s purchase was nearly $ 110. I bought Siew Op, Siew Yuke, Dan Tat, Char Sui Bow, and several odd pastries. The customers who were lined up behind, were probably wondering, ” Why the hell is taking this guy is taking forever as he is tying up the line !! « You figured you would get a * thank you * from the cashier after spending over $ 100 and speaking to her in Cantonese. Well, that didn’t happen. Regardless, how poor the service is, I am still a repeat customer for the past several decades. **** Go for the food NOTTHESERVICE *****

I always thought that this place reminds of a number of bakeries in SoCal. They can be crude, sometimes rude but you keep coming back because the food is good and at s very reasonable price. The are the analogy of the Soup nazi from that famous Seinfeld episode. It’s best that you read the menu and ask minimal questions. If not the might be «no soup for you!». Seriously though I’m still grateful there is a place like this in Fresno

First, let’s get one thing straight. For you Non-Asian folks out there complaining about the rude service; you don’t go to Bakery Delights(the only Chinese bakery in Fresno) for the friendly service. You won’t get friendly smiles and chit chat and small talk. The Chinese lady at the counter is plain rude and abrupt, even if you’re Chinese. She’s a typical practical Chinese from the mainland, and for them, it’s all business, just like the soup Nazi. You just deal with it. On the other hand, this bakery is a godsend for us Central Valley Asians who can’t afford to travel to San Jose, San Francisco or LA every weekend. The chinese pastries are pretty decent, and even better than alot of bakeries from the Bay Area. My wife loves the sponge cake rolls and the pineapple buns, while I loved the baked BBQ Pork buns and the sesame balls with sweet red bean paste. There also many chinese BBQ meats for sale, like roast pork and BBQ chinese pork and long rice noodle with shrimp. Not a large variety of pastries, but what they do have are pretty good and very authentic. If you have a chance to order their fresh fruit sponge sheet cake with fresh whipped cream, you should try it. One thing about Chinese bakery goods; they’re not as sweet as American bakery goods, as Chinese don’t like overly sweet things. Because of this, it may not be your cup of tea. However, for Asians, this is the next best thing to being in SF or LA.

I don’t even care how the pork buns taste, this review is strictly on the poor customer service in this place. Chili sauce is a condiment, not unlike ketchup at a fast food joint. When I went to get some hot chili sauce for the multitude of pork buns I got, the lady working there snapped«don’t take too many!» I was stunned as she demanded«how many are you taking?!?» I whispered«four…» And she snapped«you take more, you pay!» We had ordered a baker’s dozen of pork buns and everyone at home wanted hot chili sauce for this! I’m so stunned! This was such an unpleasant experience, I don’t even want the buns anymore.

I love their coconut buns. It’s a sweet, coconut filling in the middle of bread. Not really sure what all they put in it. If you like coconut, you have to try it out. I think they are $ 0.85. The bbq pork is good too. The bread on the outside looks like it’s not cooked but it is. I think they only take cash here.

Bakery items that remind me of China town in San Diego. There are pork buns, sticky buns, breads, egg tarts, rice rolls and some lunch items. Roasted pork(with crispy skin), roasted duck, chicken and bbq pork(the red pork) which is all sold by the pound or you can buy it as a lunch meal which comes with white or fried rice. Stay away from their drinks(like the milk teas etc) Be prepared to order when you walk in. No bs, no questions! Just order and pay with cash and move over for the next guy.

This place needs to upgrade their shop. Lol! Not sure if I wrote a review already but I love the plates they got. Don’t kniw why they taste so good but it was unexpected by me. This little mom and pop shop needs to at least give of a description on a paper or something for thebakeries they have. I don’t know more then 90% of the things in there. It be helpful for us non regulars. I would love to try new things out but I shall stick to what is normal and know that is good for now.

This place is great, I don’t understand why everyone is getting so upset about the service. Every Asian place in the bay or SoCal works like this. It’s pretty much the culture of a Chinese bbq joint. You guys are lucky there is even a line. The food here is amazing, Iv always gotten the roast pork with the pastries. Its consistent every time. Stick with either one pound of roast pork or half a duck. It’s consistent but you don’t know which end you’re going to get. Either way it’s bomb.
To the guy who wrote his duck was mostly bone, you trippin’ son. Find me two ducks and let’s see which one has more bones. If you buy more, you get more.

Had pork plate and a duck plate. The meat on the pork plate was 75% fat, 25% decent pork. The duck was pretty good, but it was a majority bone. We won’t go back.

The only Chinese bakery in town. In and out you’re forced to go haha. Cash only. The selection isn’t very large but they’ve got some nice treats. I hear they are known for their pork buns. I wanted to try the coconut bread but the guy in front of me bought them out! And that seems to happen a lot. Ill have to check them out again when I am craving Chinese treats.

This store with a few tables(it’s not a restaurant) has become a bit of an inside joke between me and my friends. If there were a Seinfeld«Soup Nazi» of chinese bakery ladies, the lady working here would be on the show. She’s nasty to customers. She’s downright mean. So mean that we sometimes plan trips there as a joke just to laugh at our predictable mistreatment! My asian friends have shared their stories with me too. If you want to die laughing, hand her a credit card and see how she humiliates and«shames» you. We call our adventures there«shame play.» The lady is infamous for overcharging(writing down the cost and tallying by hand… in chinese… and either shorting customers on product or adding up wrong, always in her favor. I once went in there and asked if I could get mini Shu Mai pork buns instead of the big ones, for a graduation party I was hosting. She just blurts out, «NO!» with a bitter expression on her face. The steamed pork buns are delicious. The egg custard tarts tasted very strongly eggy in a bad way…(duck eggs?) that other bakeries don’t. The roasted duck and pork are heavenly. The prices are reasonable. I would normally allow the delicious food and value to balance this service out, but the service is so bad there’s no redemption. Go for a good laugh and bait her on!

Chinese Bakery in Fresno??! The mother-in-law and I went nuts with our order. We basically cleared them out at 2pm in the afternoon! The line was relatively short when we arrived with only two other customers in front of us. The MIL and I were drooling as we looked at all the possible baked items we could get our hands on. We ordered: 1. Big Buchi Balls: We originally wanted only 10(5 for her and 5 for me) but we didn’t want they last two balls to be lonely so we took them as well. Leaving no more buchi balls for the growing line behind us. Oops! The hubs and I literally refused to share our buchi with each other because they were sooo good! 2. BBQ Pork Buns: 10 soft melt in your mouth pork buns with a good meat to bread ratio. Freaking delicious!!! 3. Egg Custards: 4 egg custards. These were ok. The taste and texture were off for me. Not the best I’ve ever had and not even good enough. I personally would not order this item again: 4. Puto: At least that is what Filipinos call it. Not sure what the Chinese call the white triangles of I don’t even know what they are goodies. Not too sweet, texture was just right, and I can tell that they were made fresh that day. The MIL ordered 3 boxes of this because it was soo good that she had to share with her friends. We will definitely be back for more Chinese Pastries!!! Service: Quick, if you know what you want. They are definitely about efficiency here. They want you in and out! Unless you want to eat in of course. Then there are tables and chairs for you to enjoy your order. Location: It in a strip mall next to RN Market. It’s totally hole in the wall Asian so don’t expect a fine dining experience.
