3 stars because the portions were spot on. But also because their Thai tea was pretty bland. Too much milk. Their broth had no flavor but my husband told me you’re suppose douse the broth with hella sauce. Which I think is silly because the broth is suppose to bring the bowl to life/bring all the ingredients together. And then my cousin in law said their liver or gizzard whatever it was, wasn’t cleaned good. «They could’ve cleaned it better, still tasted funky» as my cousin in law stated.

This place was okay. Ordering was a little confusing, I felt kind of lost because the menu was hard to understand. Customer service was lackluster, workers seem to hate their job and it shows through their attentiveness and helpfulness. Borderline rude and dismissive. Noodles seemed undercooked, the texture was just off, kind of rubbery. The only plus side is the wontons and roast duck. The other toppings were given sparsely. Portions were decent. In my opinion, I’m better off going to TK Noodle. I don’t see myself coming back.

My go-to lunch spot for soup! This place gets very crowded during the lunch hour. So if you are ordering out, it’s best to call ahead for pick up. The broth is a chicken and pork base. Delicious! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. I love that you can customize your order and choose your toppings. Also comes with sauces. And finally, you can’t beat the price!

Remember to check in to Unilocal for 10% off your order– which is a steal since their prices are really reasonable here! This was my second trip to Teo Chow, and they did not disappoint. We came in for a late lunch on Saturday, and it was still pretty crowded around 12:45pm. There would be a line on and off, but we were able to order and get our food pretty quickly. I tried: –Ultimate Bowl(w/Kwai Tiu Noodles, 6 Wontons, All Toppings [Ground & Thin Sliced Pork, Bean Sprouts, Pork Kidney, Fish Balls, Chicken, BBQ Pork, Shrimp, Fried Fish Cake], Roasted Duck, $ 9.99, ): Yum! I probably didn’t need all the toppings(I wasn’t a fan of the pork kidney, fish balls, chicken, and fried fish cake), but loved the roasted duck and wontons and my bomb kwai tiu noodles! I also got the soup on the side, which was awesome for me since I’m not a huge soup fan. I would definitely get this again since it’s such a great deal. –Fried Fish Cake(6/$ 6.50): I didn’t like this– the fish cakes were overfried and too dry. However, I’m not a big fish cake fan to start with, so I wouldn’t have ordered these if it weren’t for my friends. They didn’t get finished though, so that says a lot– skip! Overall, this is a great place to go for a bowl of noodles(especially with the soup on the side), and I’ll be back! Parking was easy to find at the time, although the spots are on the smaller side.

Was in Fremont area and saw this place in Unilocal.I wanted to try the thick egg noodle but they ran out so I tried the ramen noodle instead and BF tried the thin egg noodle. We ordered: — chef special(comes with wonton and roast duck) — ultimate bowl(comes with everything and roast duck) Extra fried garlic is $ 0.50. Broth is very tasty and you can add some condiments. Chili sauce is good as well as the salty sour sauce(not sure of the name). The wonton and roast duck are really good too! I still want to try the thick egg noodle, so will definitely come back if we’re in the area.

What’s better to eat on a rainy day? Noodles of course. After reading the other Unilocaler reviews, my wife and I just had to try It. We were a bit confused how to order when we first walked-in, but the staff was really helpful and explained everything to the two of us. You decide the type of noodle you want and then pick your toppings. You can select one protein, a combination, order«the ultimate» or select 3 and get veggies. The broth is full of flavor, light and delicious. Feel free to help yourself to the sauce bar too. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Wings as our appetizer and these were really tasty. My wife had the Pan Fried Noodles with everything(BBQ Pork, Chicken, Shrimp, Fish Cale and Veggies). I enjoyed the Yi Mein and added BBQ Pork, Shrimp, Fish Cake and veggies. I also enjoyed the thick noodles too. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Plus, they’re flying a Dubs flag, so that’s just an added bonus. We enjoyed our meal and can’t wait to go back for more noodle soup.

Good food, service needs work. We came in for the first time and quickly realized you order at the front, pay, and your food will be brought to you. Cashier seemed annoyed we were standing at the front looking at the menu trying to figure out what to order and impatient that we didn’t have out order figured out to a T once we did order. Hopefully you’ll fare better than us through the rushed ordering process and remember the 10% Unilocal check in. Once over the ordering hurdle, everything else was fine. Food came out relatively fast and timed close together. — Ultimate Bowl($ 9.99) This isn’t listed on the printed menu, but on the whiteboard at the cashier counter. Recommend ordering this bowl if you want variety, a little bit of everything: 6 won tons, roasted duck, all toppings(ground pork, thin sliced pork, bean sprouts, pork kidney, fish balls, chicken, BBQ pork, shrimp, fried fish cake), green onions, cilantro, and choice of noodle. Great broth, not too salty. It’s a lot of food, plenty to share. — Mapo Tofu($ 8.29) Not your traditional, spicy Mapo Tofu, but ok, and a lot of food. Maybe it was a one time only thing, but the rice it came with was very poorly made; gummy like the starch wasn’t washed and rinsed off before cooking. — Peking Spareribs($ 9.99) Good flavor and crunch, large portion. Instead of getting it with rice, we ordered it with Chow Mein. Mostly noodles, no veggies, but the flavor and texture was good. Main downside on the meat was the left overs we took home had soaked up all of the little sauce overnight and weren’t nearly as good the next day. — Vietnamese Iced Coffee($ 4 for Large) Skip, this isn’t real Vietnamese Iced Coffee, but some weak flavor variety and not good.

You come in and order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. It’s a great place to go if you have kids since you don’t have to juggle the food and kids. You do have to bus your own tables though. I ordered the ultimate bowl and was disappointed that there was roast duck with very little meat, half a kidney, one piece of meat, a few pieces of chasiu cut in half and just one fishball. Since I’m not sure if this is how it usually is I am willing to give it another try just because it is rather tasty but it was not worth the 10 bucks for a big bowl of noodles and little meat. Mommy tip: high chairs available, server was very attentive and helped me with getting a high chair and utensils. No changing table for little ones.

REVIEW #1,200: SOUP, SOUP, SOUP! I finally found my go-to spot for soup, this place to me now is really a no-brainer. All this takes place at a shopping plaza that is an Asian hot spot. In this mall, on Cushing Parkway just off Fremont Blvd., there is Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and of course with«Tea Chow,» Taiwanese hot soup that is mostly between 7 and 9 bucks. I had HOFUN noodles, the fat ones, and knew immediately I was going to do a Unilocal rave for this place. But then I tried my wife’s ROASTEDDUCK&6WONTONS with EGGNOODLES, and knew when I got lost in that deep, dark brown broth that it can’t get any more slurpirific and meat morsel-loving than this. Other enticing rice plates, pot stickers and such are available. It’s only a small café, but this place has an enthusiastic electricity about it without the mad herd — there is breathable space in here. I immediately prefer this over«Boiling Point,» and yes, I’m serious. I mean, do you really like standing in long lines at «Boiling Point?» Spending an hour and a half there? I’m tired of that. «Tea Chow,» with its no drama lure and motley of ingredients is going to be my new designation. Among the soup highlights are Ground Pork, Thin Sliced Pork, Pork Kidney, Bean Sprouts, Fish Balls, Chicken, BBQ Pork, Shrimp and Fish Cake. My lips, teeth, tongue, tonsils and nose olfactory nerves all get in on the fun. #catchingfire

Upgraded version of TK Noodle. but for the same price? Dude, heck yeah! Stopped by for an early dinner on Wednesday and the place was pretty empty, but by the time I left. it was packed. The noodle shack is decently sized. Not too big though and pretty self-serve. You order at the cashier and they bring you the food. Otherwise, you are getting your own dipping sauces, water, and utensils. Even if they don’t directly serve you, they always seem to be good at clearing out tables and cleaning it for new customers. Plus, they were kind enough to ask if we needed anything. THEULTIMATEBOWL — $ 9.99 — A heavenly bowl that consists of fatty pieces of duck, wontons, and every type of meat you can imagine. If you can’t decide on something, I suggest getting this. I got it with the Ho Fun(wide rice noodle), but I think with egg noodles it would be delicious too. The broth is hot and so lite & comforting too. Reminds me exactly of why I love TK noodle, but better. The duck is pretty fatty, but come on. you are eating duck. it’s suppose to be! FRIEDFISHCAKE — $ 6.50 — Skip out on this one! I mean it is fried, but literally. fried. The skin around the fish cake became super tough and was pretty hard to chew. I mean they give you a lot, but not a lot of something that I wanted to eat. Overall, I would definitely come back to try their other noodle dishes and hopefully better appetizers. They have a lot of great options and this place is pretty cheap. I mean with a 10% discount when you check-in, how could you say no?

What the you-know-what did I just eat??? I’m still trembling from the experience. So much flavor. So hot and fresh. So cheap!!!(10% check-in Unilocal discount). Food: Wonton soup with duck: so ridiculously good. Some wonton soup broth at other places is so bland and needs a lot of self-spicing to ramp up the flavor. Here, it’s so so rich. I wonder, do they use MSG? Duck is wonderful as well. So few things in the world as good as roast duck. Regular wonton soup with all the toppings: they are very generous with the toppings. Was a fan of all of them except the liver. Wontons themselves textured perfectly slimy with awesome flavor. House pan fried noodles: pretty good. Had better, had worse. Salt and pepper chicken wings: very pricey at $ 1/flat wing, but WOW. So much flavor. A little spicy too! Overall: awesome place if you want fresh wonton soup. Best wonton soup I’ve had in a very long time!!!

Great little noodle shack. I came here with my buddy who suggested this place to dine in for dinner. The place is quiet small, only max 49 capacities. You order in the front, get a number and they bring it out to you. I forgot I was eating vegetarian for a month; due to excitement of the place… that I ordered the chef special with duck meat and wontons:’(. The noodle dish was super good, but there goes my 2-week streak… sigh. Oh well. Great place! Flavorful broth and good amount of meat to noodle ratio. The service was great as well, cashier was very accommodating

I come here average 2x/week. So I say I am a frequent VIP customer. Weekday lunch is crazy. Parking lot is crazy, line is long, food takes forever. Solely because it’s near by many companies. If you’re planning to come on weekday: Option A: Come in before 12, preferably 11:45 and not any later. Option B: Order by phone and they pre-make your food and also you can cut the line. Option C: Come late lunch. Maybe 1:15? Weekend: generally not busy because most companies are off. Food wise: I have never tried their other stir-fry dishes. I come here for the soup. I personally get the 10 piece wonton with vegetables. The wonton is the best thing about the soup. Thus, skip all the others and add more wonton.

You can get oodles of noodles for $ 7.79 at Teo Chow. which is pretty awesome! Pick your noodles: ho fun, thin white noodles, wonton noodles, wontons, thick ramen, rice vermicelli, or thick egg noodles. Then pick your toppings: ground pork, sliced pork, bean sprouts, pork kidney, fish balls, chciken, bbq pork, shrimp, fried fish cake, or everything! The portions are huge, especially for the price. I was able to split my bowl into two meals! If you like dishes at TK Noodle, you’d definitely enjoy the noodle soups here. Might’ve been an off day for them when we went, but the service was SUPER slow. We didn’t get our noodles until 25 – 30 minutes after we ordered. Yikes… hopefully this doesn’t happen the next time we visit!

When I’m craving oodles of noodles… I really want some noodles. It’s been a while that I’ve been here and I actually don’t remember my experience last time(just remembered the place). In a strip mall, the area is a little barren but it’s a good area to get some Asian food(Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) The place itself is very open but tables are a bit sticky. I personally would’ve loved to get food from here back when I was in high school and looking for a place to hang out. From my most recent visit, the noodles here certainly do satisfy cravings but could be done with a little more care. I got their special, Roasted Duck and Won Tons with Ho Fun noodles. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are a decent size. The Ho Fun was delicious and definitely was more than enough for me. The duck was delicious and nicely cooked, but it made the soup really oily. The won tons were flavorful but the centers weren’t cooked too well(did give me a stomach ache later); I only noticed when there was a weird texture in my bite and I looked, the centers were a bit pink. We were in a rush so I just mentioned it to the guy in the front. It was probably just a bad day since it was rainy and business seemed a little slow for the day. We did also try the original fried chicken wings, a bit dry but nicely fried. When getting a drink/water from the soda machine, it was a bit of a hassle since there was a big table right there and with it full, it’s very troublesome to get a drink(especially when a mother parked her stroller there and just stared when we asked for a little room to not bump the baby). I love that this place does crank out food pretty quick, reminds me of a Chipotle style noodle place; service was very quick and staff was very friendly. Final Thoughts: I love the noodles here but everything else was a bit iffy to me. Maybe I’ll give this place another try some other time, will just have to be careful with what I try.

Modern Chipotle version of your TK Noodle. I LOVEIT. I LOVEIT I LOVEIT I LOVEIT. I was a bit skeptical at first given how«American» it looked, with the menu and all. But by all means, it’s super authentic and just operating in our modern American times. Pick your noodle of choice, decide on add-ons or have it all, and you are goooood to go. It’s cheap too! $ 7/$ 8 for the bowl and it has plenty to make you full. It’s open seating so after you order/get your number, find a seat, get situated, grab your favorite condiments(e.g., chili oil, satay, hoisin sauce, sriracha, lime, etc), bring it back and sit tightly till your bowl of piping, delicious noodle soup arrives. *__________* I’m personally a fan of ho fun(the thick flat white noodles) so that’s what I opted for. + fried garlic(which was a free add-on. something that they were testing for their menu) and I did not regret. I also added 3 wontons to my soup, of which were also delicious. Service is friendly and it’s cleaner than your typical TK. Not the same exact soupy taste, but if you’ve been to TK, it’s similar. I am definitely coming back!!!

Since I haven’t been able to go to Vien Huong in what feels like ages, Teo Chow has sufficed in providing me with comfort food. The ho fun is my preferred noodle and I like to get it with everything(kidneys are my favorite!). The broth is light and flavorful, and so heart warming. I also got a side of chicken wings(5 for $ 5) which were piping hot, crispy on the outside, and meaty on the inside. If you dip them into the garlic sauce, it tastes like Vietnamese chicken wings. A lot of people come here to get the gigantic noodle plates that can feed an entire family. They look good but come on, you can get chow mien and sweet and sour pork anywhere. Food is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. Everyone is very friendly. You can even get milk tea too.

Great on a cold and cloudy day, Teo Chow gets packed fast during the weekday lunches. It’s up to you to find a table, otherwise takeout might be wiser. Best thing to order? Their noodle soups! You can build your own or order the chef’s special(roasted duck + wontons + your choice of noodle). They have a variety of noodles, ranging from wonton noodles to wontons to egg noodles to kwai tiu(phở-like noodles), and more. They also have a sauce bar so that you can dress your dish any way you like. Aside from their noodle soups, they have the less popular(to me) chow mein or chow ho fun. I highly do not recommend the chow ho fun with beef, because it was a major miss for me. But that doesn’t stop me from coming back for other menu items! I also enjoy their mapo tofu and fried fish. Their other dishes come with either rice, fried rice, or chow mein. Beware, those dishes only come with those items. If you order the fried fish with rice, what you’ll get is fried fish with rice, no veggie or sides. So if you want to balance out your daily intake, you might have to order a side of veggies.

I love how this place is almost like a Chipotle of Chinese noodle shops in that you can pick and choose everything that goes into your meal, whether the noodles, toppings, or soup. The added bonus over Chipotle, though, is that your food is made to order. There are lots of toppings, whether roast duck, shrimp, pork, etc.; you also get a good helping of these toppings for your money. The wontons are authentic too. And I love how there are so many varieties of noodles to choose from, whether egg– or rice-based. The taste is decent, and overall it’s a good deal, especially for lunch when this place gets crowded.
