I was really happy when I find out that there is a off the grid in the Fremont area. Maybe is the timing that I came here or it is maybe I didn’t like the food truck that was here but I find this off the grid was just okay. I came here on a Wednesday even and there was around 8 truck all line up and ready to serve. My girlfriend and I walked around to check out all the food truck and it did not appeared to my girl or I that anything was even worth getting. There was plenty of seat and there was also music playing in the back so that was pretty good. I think I will come back to check this place out again. Good amount of food truck and plenty of seat. This time, it just wasn’t my taste of food I guess.

Nice little thing to do in Fremont, though the experience is made by whatever food trucks present and sitting outside with good company and live music. Went on a chilly Wednesday evening(May 4, 2016). There were about 7 – 8 trucks lined up side by side and across each other, giving a wide enough pathway for people to truck window-shop along or stand in line. It wasn’t too crowded. The food we got from 3−3−3, Phnomnom, and Bombzies BBQ were good but quite expensive for the portion,(what else would you expect from food trucks)? 3−3−3 was a popular choice, and I waited about 20 minutes to wait in line and for the food. No tables, only chairs. There was a duo playing music under a tent, but the speakers were loud! We tried to avoid sitting directly in front of them. The parking lot is pretty accommodating but I had to park a little farther away around the corner of Taro Taro. May be worth checking out once in a while if you don’t encounter food trucks often.

Very small off the grid location that we hit up on the way to Walmart. The had maybe six trucks. I assume they revolve with different trucks like other off the grid locations. But it was quite dead when we came by. Only line we saw was at the greek spot. I forgot the name. I assume we came too early and not enough people had started to show up yet?

If food trucks are your thing this iteration of OTG should do ya just fine. There are a small handful of trucks to choose from twice a week(Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons). They have a small amount of seating which I imagine is not nearly adequate if it’s very crowded. It’s in a relatively small parking lot which I’m sure can be quite hectic at high traffic time. I wish this would be held one parking lot over in the ENORMOUS parking lot between the many, many furniture stores that wouldn’t likely be open at the time of OTG on Wednesday nights. I’m guessing the reason they don’t is because it’s off of Stevenson and wouldn’t be highly traveled, so you’d lose the impulse drive-by patrons. Anyhow, if I’m in the hankering for truck food I’d happily come here.

who would have thought! driving home from work on wednesday, got a bit hungry and there is was live music, and many food choices. like 8 food trucks around in a sort of circle and people walking around having a good time also table and chairs for seating, i opted for the burger and it was fantastic, it was hard to choose, they had the shortest line. i will be stopping by again people were generally enjoying the food. the sign states they are there on sundays. but this is my new home for wednesday dinner. roach coaches are no more. they need to plow down the crappy over priced world gourmet restaurant for additional parking.

Avoid 3geeks unless you enjoy crappy, skimpy cheesesteaks. The longanisa burrito from Rice Rocket was spectacular. We are still talking about it.

Some of my favorite trucks come here: Koja Kitchen, Gold Rush Eatry, Rooster. I love trying new trucks and eating at my favorites often.

Really nice addition to the Fremont area even most times I forget when they’re out there. It’s located near the World Gourmet Buffet on Albrae and Stevenson. The parking is a little tight but doable. The time I went on a Sunday wasn’t crowded. I tried the Koja truck and ordered two teriyaki chicken with pineapple in a garlic rice bun. I was really impressed. It was flavorful and the rice bun stood up well to the last bite. Johnny Donuts had a great strawberry and crème filed donut. There was live music and enough seating. I would definitely return and try something else from the Koja truck.

Southern Comfort Kitchen! Best fried chicken sandwich ever!!! I will be back for this and more. I noticed that one reviewer complained about the $ 10 price. The sandwich was huge and worth every penny… my husband had the catfish po-boy that was just as good. Can’t wait to go back!

We were on our way to Taro Taro and was surprised to see Off The Grid. So since I have this curiosity around food trucks and my boyfriend was hungry, we stopped by and saw what options they had. It’s not large like many off the grids, but had about 7 trucks of various types. There was also a band, Pistachio, playing great songs. There were seats available but unfortunately no shade during the hot day we were there. We opted for We2Sushi which was pretty delicious! We got 2 tacos, one lobster($ 4) and the other sushi($ 3). The«taco» was basically on a crisp wonton wrapper. Very flavorful and lots of seafood. Nice little place to hang out and chill.

Food and atmosphere was great. The selection was fair, but not great, I believe there was 8 trucks? They did have live music and seating though, which is irregular for food truck musters. Yum.

Opening night of Off the Grid in Fremont was festive and felt like community coming together. Grabbed The Opie burger(animal style), garlic noodles with chicken from the Vietnamese food truck, and Tikka Masala from Curry Up Now, shared between friends. Live music was current and fun. The lights strung across the seating area was an awesome touch. Fun! Impressed that OTG is in Fremont 2 days a week. You can eat on Wednesday nights and Sunday mid day. So proud my adopted city is finally coming into its own and bringing a bit of urban flare to the local mix. No more wishful trips to the city for grub. It’s in my backyard now!

Grand opening day for Off the Grid in Fremont — wuuuuuuuuut, Fremont has been noticed enough to have its own food truck shindig? Apparently so. It looks like this will be a twice weekly event — Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 9pm and also again on Sundays from 11am to 3pm. Not bad if you’re looking for a quick place to chill over food truck grub. OTG Fremont takes place right in the World Gourmet Buffet complex. I was able to snag a parking spot fairly close — most of the spots were filled up in the immediate area, but you shouldn’t have problem parking in the nearby parking areas. They had a nice little set up today — about 7 or 8 different food trucks lined up neatly into two rows. Medium sized section of chairs for you to sit and eat, plus a nice little string of lights to give the event a warm touch. There was even a bit of live music. A very simple event and set up — nothing to knock your socks off, but it’s a neat event to add to the ever so short list of things to do in Fremont. Most of the trucks present today were savory — Vietnamese, burgers, southern comfort food, curry, etc. I think one truck was for dessert. Attendance was pretty OK — not overly packed and not sparse to the point where you’re wondering if everyone had been abducted by aliens. I think the crowd was just right. Some truck lines were longer than others, but I think the longest line had about 7 or 8 people — not too bad. However, this was on a day where the weather was starting to turn sour — overcast and a light drizzle. I’m not sure how the crowds will be on a nice sunny day, post grand opening. Overall, not a bad place to chill for a weekday evening or Sunday afternoon.
