The other evening I decided to have dinner with my family and one of my friend told me about this place, so we decided to go have dinner there at Bismillah Resturant. If I could give this place a 0 star I would but Unilocal starts out with at least a 1 Star. First of all, it took them forever to sit us down at a table, its not like the place was packed or busy, there was only a few people in there. As soon as we walked in, the place was very dirty and the table they told us to sit on was disgusting, there was food leftovers and they brought us warm water when we asked if we could have some water with ice. It seemed like there was no lights, the lights were very dimmed and you could hardly see anything, I guess they are trying to save money on the PG&E Bill. The food finally came out after 45 mins and the food was cold, I would never recommend anyone to go eat there, the worst place to eat.

I have lived in Fremont for long time and never gone here before. So last night which was a Friday night I wanted to eat some place where I haven’t eaten before. So we order Nihari, Haleem and chicken tikka masala. Nihari was very bad — It was not tasty at all but on the top of it, it smelled weird. Let me tell you, I was craving Nihari and this place was a big disappointed. Shalimar Nihari is not that great, but Shalimars Nihari is way better then Bismillah Restaurants! Haleem was so bad I can not begin. Chicken tikka masala was the only eatable thing. Mind you chicken tikka masala was also just eatable. I don’t know how these guys got 4 stars, and my review is for food only.

I usually order their chicken breast or leg tandoori. Make sure you ask them to make it well done, otherwise it’s not fully cooked. Food is average but they have the best bread! I am taking a couple stars off for not being very clean inside and the customer service is a hit or miss.

I just had my first meal here. Food is fresh made to order. Quite a variety of food selections. I only took one star off as you have to pay cash only and there is no real décor. Prices are also quite reasonable. I read another review that said the food was just OK and the place unclean. I disagree. The food was excellent and although there is nothing lavish about the tables or walls, the table was clean and so were the chairs and floor. Very polite friendly folk who brought the food over to our table. One has to get one’s own cutlery, plate and napkins but it is right there handy. I definitely plan to come back here again.

I order from Bismillah about once a week and I really like their food. Since I’m vegetarian I don’t get to review their more famous dishes, but I must say the saag alu is the best I ever tried! In fact I love their saag so much that I always order either the saag paneer or alu. Their other veggie dishes are pretty oily and not my favorite(I have tried shahi paneer masala and okra). I love the naan it is always fresh and flavorful, and the complimentary tea is awesome.

The food is good and fresh especially tandoori leg and naan but the service is slow(they cook fresh so it takes time), main drawback is furniture is too old and not clean to dine in.

This place is a hole in the wall with the best Indian Pakistani cuisine Fremont has to offer. Great food, good customer service n to top it all its one of my dads favorites. Everything on the menu from the kebabs, Bheja curry, chicken kadai, biryani etc to the lassi– everything’s delicious! This restaurant deserves 10 for its delicious food n customer service.

Food was ok. But the place had a feeling of dirtiness. The staff never broke a smile;very serious. I don’t think I want to eat here again.

One of the good afghani restaurant in the Fremont. The food here is yummy and fresh especially the tandoori leg but the furniture and the maintenance is average, I prefer to order the food from here and the price is reasonable.

Pretty standard Muslim food. No frills, but prices are not as cheap as the interior and service would suggest either. I had the chicken rice, which was good if it weren’t overly spiced with cloves, which is a fairly strong herb.

Great Take Out Place. CASH Only — This is a big con in my opinion I’m giving Bismillah a big thumbs up for it’s food. Please don’t go there expecting a fancy sit down restaurant. This is a hole in the wall with a leaky roof(yes, I was there one time when the roof was leaking in the rain). Having said this, I always use Bismillah as the go-to place to get Indian take out. Their food is delicious. Everything I’ve ordered has always been really yummy. Try their chicken legs, sheek kababs, chicken tikka masala, and their biryanis(chicken and lamb). Their garlic naans are really tasty as well, and their naan dough is such that it does not get chewy and rubbery when it gets cold. If you live around the East Bay cities of Fremont, Newark, Union City or even Hayward, it’s worth calling in your order and picking it up for food nirvana. Hits the spot every time.

Meh! Not going back again. The food was just OK. The service was slow and the place was dirty. Felt like I wasted my money and time.

I really like this restaurant for 2 reasons: 1. Because the wait time isn’t as long as others. 2. THEFOODISEXTREMELYFRESH! It is a small place, so don’t come in at peak hours. Also my biryani had quite a bit of excess oil that I could clearly see. I still loved it though. The naan was very delicious and was really fluffy and was like it was fresh out of the oven. But, the water had a weird taste. I didn’t take it too seriously, but it didn’t seem really normal. All in all, Bismillah is a very decent restaurant.

Really loved the biryani taste! It was very tasty and flavorful. The only thing was I wished it had more meat :(and overall quantity. The naan was thicker than the usual but hubby liked it. The butter paneer was awesome.
