My Yeh-Yeh(paternal grandfather) has lived here since 2007. It’s very culturally Chinese, but most of the staff also speaks English. There are plenty of activities for the seniors here: Bingo, crafts, light exercise, occasional music performances, monthly birthday celebrations, and of course, MJ. What Chinese place doesn’t have MJ? His room is well-maintained, and they are good about corresponding with my dad and uncle over Yeh-Yeh’s needs. Although I don’t like that he is unable to live by himself anymore, I like this place and think it’s the ideal place for him to live. I recommend this to any person wondering where to put a parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent that prefers a culturally Chinese environment.

We decided to move my mom here and I’m 100% confident in the decision. The place is a little pricy(minus 1 star) but I think it’s worth it. The residents talk to one another and the facilities are well maintained. The workers here all work very hard and there doesn’t seem to be as high of a turn over rate as in other homes. It is right across the street from American High School and a couple of times I’ve seen teens over there doing their community service hours. It is still our first year here, so I’ll be sure to update, but currently, we are very happy leaving mom here. Warning: It is a Chinese centered assisted living home, and unless you speak Chinese, it may not be that comfortable for your loved one.
