First off, Kingwood Fine Cabinetry makes a nice cabinet. I am pleased with the look and workmanship. Installer was professional and did a good job. So, why the low-ish rating? It comes down to one thing: customer service. Or rather, the lack thereof. I’ll explain… My initial meetings with the Kingwood rep went pretty well. But, once I had paid some money(half of the proposal), it went downhill. I was told the initial drawings would take 10 days. They took a month. I was given two time estimates. 6 – 8 weeks and 8 – 10 weeks. This was fine, as I understand I’m not the only person in the world. However, trying to contact the rep after I was supposedly in the building queue was almost fruitless. After a month, I was told it was still 6 – 8 weeks. Later, at about 7 – 8 weeks in, getting an update was nearly impossible. The rep pretty much stopped responding to me and calls to the office were not returned. Pretty much every part of the process took longer than it should have for a «small project». I had a MUCH more detailed review ready to post, but that should suffice. Finally, at 13 weeks, I got the cabinets. Installation went smoothly. Of course, I was very promptly sent the bill for the last 15% of the cost. It’s a shame this company doesn’t have better customer service. Their cabinets are very nice, but that only goes so far, in my opinion. I understand being busy, but the courtesy of a returned phone call or email goes a long way.
