A place I will not go back too. Had to give my order four times before they got it right. Then they over charged me. When I got the hamburger, it was split in hslf and over cooked and dry. Ordered diet Coke and was charged for to ice teas. I had issues with them refunding my money for the over charge..

I am very surprised by all of the positive reviews! The burgers were greasy and tasteless. Even the customer service was lacking. I would rather eat a McDonald’s than ever eat here again.

You like burgers? You like shakes? Well then you really can’t go wrong at Cook Out. On a recent trip to Fredericksburg we wanted burgers… real burgers, not some fast food joint — and Cook Out popped up first. I ordered a large(1⁄3 pound) Cook Out style burger with onion rings and slaw for my sides. My son got the Cheddar Style with fries and my daughter got two chicken strips and fries. We also got a caramel fudge shake and a peanut butter fudge shake that the three of us shared. Other than the fries being a little soggy, I don’t have a bad thing to say about the mal. Burgers and sides were great and the shakes were very tasty. The service here was friendly, but a little slow — but they were packed so I expected that. I would have liked to have tried a hot dog and their pulled pork, but it just wasn’t a possibility that night. hoping if I’m back here some time in the near future that I will be able to stop in for another try. Just the fact that I’m willing to go back is as good an endorsement as I can give…

Good burgers at a decent price. For the cost of it, you get a MUCH better meal than you would at McDonald’s or Wendys. Love the fact the meals come with two sides!

This cookout is everything a cookout should be and more. The ambiance inside is of a log cabin. Why, not really sure but at least its clean and nice. The food came out in a reasonable time. It always tastes fantastic. I ordered my usual, cheddar style chicken tray with double season fries and a sweet tea. Sorry I have no pictures because I devoured the damn thing before I could think about snap shots. Just try it for yourself. The joys of cookout without going all the way to North Carolina. :)

I stopped at this location for dinner. I have been to other locations and liked their offerings. They have a limited fast food menu that includes hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, and chicken sandwiches and quesadillas. Their hamburgers are very good. They have a meal deal that adds two sides and a soft drink. The french fries, cole slaw, and hush puppies are all good. Their prices are very reasonable and service is reasonably fast. I would return to this location or not hesitate to visit another of their locations.

Today was my first time going here. I let all the hype die down so I didn’t have to worry about the crazy lines. I ordered the chicken sandwich, fries and coleslaw. What a waisted 5 dollars. My piece of chicken was so small, 3×3 if that. I knew this place was too good to be true. It is just like every other place, they open with great size, fresh food. Then they get you. Everything gets smaller and service gets worse. Shortcuts. I will not return

Most Cook Outs that I have been to have been drive-thru’s so this was a different experience. Great selection of burgers. If you like fried okra you need to get it here, very tasty.

I visit Cook Out quite often. Usually it’s busy, but the prices are great. The food is good and service is okay. When I’ve been at night, I’ve had to wait a while, but my food is fresh. I really wish that they had butter. I don’t like going in at night. Low prices, good food, and late hours attract people who are under the influence. Sometimes there are security guards outside by the door, but that doesn’t instill complete peace of mind.

Cook Out is a privately-owned restaurant that started out in NC, but there are locations in TN, SC, GA, VA, WV, and KY. The menu is pretty extensive, offering items such as char-grilled burgers/chicken breast/hot dogs, chopped pork BBQ, spicy chicken breast fillet, chicken strips, sides, floats, and a variety of milkshakes. I had a Cheddar Style combo, which was a char-grilled burger topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions, and mayo — this was pretty tasty, as it reminded me of either the Snow White Grill’s slider/White Castle’s sliders. The combo lets you choose 2 sides, so I opted for the hush puppies(crispy and pretty okay in taste; I just wished there was some type of sauce that goes with, like apple butter?) and a Corn Dog(yes, a corn dog is a side! The corn dog had a nice crisp exterior from being deep-fried, but I wasn’t a fan of the wiener); the hubs had the Regular Spicy Style Chicken Breast Fillet — I wasn’t a fan of this, as this tasted similar to BK chicken sandwich without the kick; for sides, we opted for French Fries(unseasoned) and Onion Rings(sweeter, as they were made with sweet jumbo onions; these were just okay). I also had a Cheerwine Float with vanilla ice cream — this was forgettable, and I actually preferred to just stick with the Cheerwine cherry soda instead. The hubs tried the Oreo milkshake, and he thought it was pretty good — definitely thick, but it was more slushee-like. Service was pretty friendly, and the wait time is pretty long(the orders get backed up as everything is made to order and people come in nonstop). I’d definitely just stick to their char-grilled burgers and the unlimited Cheerwine soda! +char-grilled burgers(Cheddar Style) +Cheerwine soda +backed-up orders

It’s rare that I feel the need to come back and downgrade a previously stellar review but, unfortunately, this is one of those times where it’s warranted… After having been to Cookout a number of times since they first opened, the quality of the food has slowly declined and today it hit rock bottom. My burger patty was ½ the size of the bun, burned on the outside(ie. really«well» done), and impossible to chew, the lettuce was wilted, and the tomato was soggy. In addition, as part of my combo, I ordered onion rings… and received four tiny rings. Of course, I didn’t realize any of this until I’d already gotten home, so I called and asked to talk with the manager. I was greeted by Timothy, who said he was one of two managers on duty, and I relayed all of these concerns to him. He apologized profusely and was very polite, stating that he’d be sure to talk with the staff to correct the issues on future orders. Thus, my updated 2-star rating is based purely on service and has nothing to do with food. Nonetheless, next time I’ll pay a buck more and go to Five Guys.

I found the food is as good and quick as you’d expect at a Cook Out, but the service here isn’t up to par. The people working at the front counter really don’t seem interested and service is rather abrupt and unfriendly. I’m not sure I’d come back.

Lived in NC for over 5 years — went ONCE. Now that we live in Stafford, I come here every time friends come by. It’s not the quality, it’s the price. When my friends raved about it, i thought, oh a great burger joint! But, no, it’s not that it’s a great burger joint, but it is how cheap they are. Burger with two sides(and one of them can be a corn dog! What?!) and a drink will cost you around 5 – 6 bucks. You can replace things for extra $$ — the shakes are good. Again, the quality? not so much. But per $$? Great!

OMG. Definition of delicious. This place is awesome, probably my favorite when it comes to fast food. You know a fast food joint is gonna be good, if they’ve got hush puppies, just saying. Whenever my friend comes back from school, we always drive down here, to go get some cookout. Those cheerwine floats are so good, and I love me a good pulled pork sandwich, each time I come here I pay no more than 6 $. If only there was one in Woodbridge…

I don’t get it… This is not even close to a 5 star burger joint. The burgers are lackluster even by fast food standards and yet people seem to flock to this place in droves. I made the mistake of ordering onion rings which I was told would take more time to cook. What’s funny is the onion rings they gave me were stale and obviously not fresh. I understand that this area is probably more health conscious than most so greasy burger places may be few and far between. Still, a proper burger just hits the spot every now and then. This place fell well short of expectations on all accounts. The food gets a 2 star rating and the unfriendly and unhelpful staff drops the overall down to 1. If you haven’t tried this place before save yourself the disappointment. Sunken Well and Foode have better burgers in his area.

So many choices! Don’t know which one to get! I love that you can have corndogs and nuggets as your sides. Price of a combo is cheap(around $ 5) and you get two sides and a drink. Milkshake was amazing! The chocolate malt was to die for! I can’t wait to try other stuff from their menu:)

I’m a picky eater so I hardly eat fast food. I gave cook out a try and was semi pleased. Burger was fine. Much better than frozen mystery meat. Sides were different. I liked having lots of options but didn’t feel what I got blew me away. Fries are no where close to five guys. Hush puppies were not bad but wouldn’t reorder. The shake menu was amazing! I ordered double chocolate and was told this was«very chocolate-ty». It wasn’t. If you advertise a million shakes at least try to make them different. It was vanilla with Hershey’s syrup. If you can’t nail a chocolate shake I’m not sure what to expect if I order a strawberry cheesecake cream cake shake. Price wise it was cheap. Would prefer one side vs two and make it rock.

I must say that I’ve always been partial to Cook-Out for fast food. I was excited to hear that one was coming to Fredericksburg and eagerly awaited my first visit to this one. I’m happy to say that I’m still a Cook-Out fan! My barbecue tray was great. :-) There was plenty of meat and cole slaw on a fresh bun. Of course, I added a bit more Texas Pete from the condiments counter. My corn dog and onion rings were fresh and not over cooked. Finally, the Peanut Butter Fudge Milkshake was spoon thick and perfect! I would have probably rated the place with four stars, but the great choice of music pushed my rating to five. Welcome to Fredericksbug, Cook-Out!

The hubby and I waited a couple weeks for the lines to calm down but it was still packed yesterday, with double drive through lines over flowing and people, in line, out the door, BUT, they handled the lines very well! Super fast and I’m thrilled that there is a nice sized inside dining area! The place is just beautiful, inside and out, and adds some class to this older area! The burgers are very yummy. it was a bit more cooked than I prefer(not sure if they will cook them less if asked, I will check next time). The peanut butter shake was soooo good, that it brought me back to when i was a kid, in the 70’s when we made some sort of peanut butter treat that you freeze and eat. the fries were average, but good. We didnt try any other food just yet, but will. So, i have no further items to report on.
