The Savory Spoon Catering

We hired Savory Spoon to cater a funeral. Planning funerals happen fast and it is possible to overlook lots of details on the part of the family. They completely exceeded my expectations in EVERY way. They honored some special requests I had made. They came prepared with beautiful serveware and very friendly service. At a time when I could not mentally attend to the details of a party… I had zero worries. They did a tremendous job.

They have catered many lunches at my company and we have always enjoyed their food. I can’t say that I can remember a single time that I was less than satisfied. She takes the order for the number of people we have and creates a wonderful menu that always includes a tasty vegetarian option. The desserts are always out of this world.

Cheri and her staff are amazing! They were willing to go the extra mile and meet our budget with a fabulous spread both times. We are truly thankful to have found The Savory Spoon and I will use them exclusively for all of our future events!

We had a great experience with the Savory Spoon Catering service. The owner was very cordial and open to anything we needed. The food was fantastic. We had two dips as apps, which were very good and dinner was Chicken Parm, crab cakes, green beans, rice dish and potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their dinner! The homemade Carrot Cake was fantastic as well. She brought fresh berries and homemade whip cream for the side too! Definitely worth the money!

Had a delivery from Cheri and her team for a house warming! Was some of the best food I’ve eaten and they brought it in, set it up. Would definitely use them again!

The Savory Spoon is awesome! Their food is fresh, never frozen, and organic. They do wedding cakes too!
They catered my wedding, and actually saved me from another caterer. The bad caterer basically dropped a bombshell on me a month before my wedding and we couldn’t go through with their services. A friend referred me to Savory Spoon and they were nothing short of amazing.
They crafted a delicious, creative menu for my event a day after I told them my budget! They are honest professionals who truly care about people and food, and you don’t have to spend a ton of money for excellent quality.
The ham with mango chutney is particularly good, and the naan chips are to die for! Cheri Thompson, one of the owners, is a wonderful, good-​spirited person who really has it together. I strongly recommend them, whether you’re on a budget or not!

5 stars is easy for me to give to The Savory Spoon, I recently had them cater an event and could not be more impressed! The owner is an absolute doll, she always answered her phone or returned my calls promptly and there were many! She was amazing at working out a proper menu for me to fit my budget and desires and had no problem with all the changes and alterations I made on the way.
The event had around 300 people passing through and I received many compliments about the catering! The display was beautiful and was always kept well stocked by a very courteous staff. I will definitely use The Savory Spoon for a future event!

For catering in Frederick, the Savory Spoon is AWESOME. I don’t like to give 5’s easily, but they really do deserve it. I know they cater weddings and other local events. I’ve heard wonderful things and when I finally got to try the food, I couldn’t stop eating!
The sun-​dried tomato spread was my favorite. She also had tomato-​mozzarella mini skewers with a balsamic reduction which I probably had at least 10. Some of the best brownies I ever had finished off a great meal. Often I’ve found with caterers the food just tastes massed produced and bland. Everything I ate was delicious and really felt like it was made with love.
The website lists an impressive amount of options from which you can choose. I highly recommend this for any event you are planning in the Frederick area.

Absolutely unprofessional.
I’ll spare you the details, but essentially this company pulled a complete bait and switch, ignored our vegetarian guests, and blamed their incompetence on my mother in law.
The food we ordered wasn’t remotely close to the food that was served at our wedding. We had also informed them at the tasting that we would have several vegetarians and were assured that they would have tons of food for them. They brought no vegetarian meals and we resorted to ordering pizza for the vegetarians, which their staff then proceeded to eat.
When confronted with their lack of professionalism and general incompetence the owners response was to email a tirade to my mother in law attempting to absolve herself of all responsibility.
Do not hire this caterer.
