Drove down to Frederick to try this place out with a friend who lives out here and their sushi deal is to die for! $ 15 for all you can eat?! fish is moderately fresh for a buffet(it tastes great, but I’ve had better) But buyer be warned, there’s an extra up charge of you have leftovers, they weren’t very willing when I asked for a box so I ended up having to pay the fee of $ 5, it’s been closed for a bit since the last time I went but I’m hoping it opens back up so you can enjoy this lovely place!

Welp. There goes another one. How can you mess up noodles? That was the statement of the night. We should have known when we’re dining alone on a Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. i begged to leave, but the mister thought it would be rude. I have been in the past and it was adequate eats. Those days are over. Terrible over salted noodles and hard as a rock orange chicken! Geez. Wasted birthday meal. For $ 60 i expected more.

Very good all you can eat NON-BUFFET. The ONLY draw back is they not as fast as a buffet. Positive is that it is fresh and you can get what YOU want. Will definitely be going back.

ALLYOUCANEAT — $ 21.99(That is all I have to say). You get however many orders you want of salads(seaweed, avocado, crab or squid), appetizers(vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura, edamame, dumplings) then your choice of nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls and special rolls, last your choice of ice cream! This is the best deal ever, even if you don’t order a lot. One salad, an appetizer, a special roll and ice cream is well over $ 21 when ordering from the regular menu. SOWORTHIT! My mom and I love this place — definitely our go to for SUSHI! Service is good and fast. Establishment is clean and comfy! Plenty of parking, in the same plaza with the Wegmans!

Nice all you can eat deal for $ 22 per person. Sushi is fresh and there is a huge selection for the all you can eat price! Well worth the price! Atmosphere is nice and clean. Customer service is good and food is quick. The only suggestion is that the sushi be more esthetically pleasing, meaning more cylindrical and less clumpy looking, but it tastes great.

Just outstanding sushi! The lunch and dinner all you can eat options are excellent. The sushi is fresh, the rice is sticky, and the fish was fresh. The food is excellent and plentiful, my go to place for sushi! **Another shout-out to my spell-checking, Unilocal stalking friends!

So, I used to gush about how awesome this place was. Anytime anyone in Frederick wanted sushi or hibachi, I’d direct them to Taste of Asia. I got a flyer in the mail last week that said grand opening and had a 30% off coupon attached. I assumed ownership changed and was excited about a coupon to one of my favorite places. We went last Friday night, and it was not a great time. Got there around 6:30pm on a Friday. Before, this place would have been busy and likely had a 10 – 15 minute wait time for a booth. Not this time. There were maybe 2 other tables occupied when we arrived, and another 3 – 4 parties came in during the duration of our meal. The entire Hibachi table side(so the whole right side of the restaurant including the bar) was shut down. Not«we’re not going to start this up until later» shut down, there were chairs stacked, boxes stacked and no plates or dinnerware out, making it obvious that hibachi is at least temporarily closed for service outside of the kitchen menu. One of our two waitresses was rather rude(not something we’ve experienced before). The TVs are gone and there are obvious holes in the wall where things once were, and I assume new ownership thought it looked ok to leave it like that instead of patching/painting or replacing items? Original menu has been paired down, which is fine. There are still some kitchen prepped hibachi options, apps, entrees and plenty of sushi on the menu. Then there’s the«eat all you want» for $ 21.99 paper. You’re charged if you order more than you can eat $ 4 per ½ pound, which I understand and am not knocking, just letting folks know on the review. We ordered a california roll, I got shrimp hibachi and my boyfriend got general tsos. Cali roll and my soup/salad arrived. The roll was mediocre at best(usually sushi from here is awesome), and the soup has changed from traditional broth with onion and mushroom to some sort of miso which was not very good. Our main courses came and the general tso and rice was good(seemed like same quality as before). My shrimp/veg/rice was alright. I ate two shrimp and some rice and wasn’t feeling all that fantastic at that point so opted to box mine up and take it home for later. End result, I was sick the entire night from what I assume was the shrimp as I had not eaten anything else that should make me sick, and threw my leftovers out, uneaten. I’m not sure how this place is going to survive with half of the square footage shut down. What was edible was ok, but nothing like before and we’ll definitely be trying out other places for hibachi and sushi, and will not be back to ToA unless something pretty drastic changes. The atmosphere inside is a little creepy now too. Weird lighting, VERY quiet. Just really disappointing from what this place was, to what it is right now. I think if this place had opened with a different name and concept, I’d still think it wasn’t worth going back to, but I wouldn’t be quite this disappointed because I wouldn’t have gone into it with as many expectations.

All you can eat sushi. Available 7 days a week at both lunch and dinner times. How glorious! Lunch price is $ 14.99 for adults and dinner is $ 21.99. I’ve only been for dinner so far and the selection is amazing! Besides over 85 different varieties of sushi and sashimi, made fresh to order, the menu also includes soup, salads, appetizers and ice cream for dessert. Service is fast, friendly and efficient. The only thing to note is there will be a surcharge of $ 4 per ½ pound of food leftover. I have no problem with this as it will reduce food waste and allow them to keep offering this great AYCE price.

Under new management! This restaurant is now an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant and it represents the best incarnation of this model. They offer a wide selection of rolls and Nigiri. The sushi is made to order and quality is good. This restaurant earns five stars based on the value of its offering. I have never had a better $ 14 meal :-) Not only that, but currently there is a promotion to get 30% off the bill. If your hungry, like sushi, and are looking for a good value, drop in and check it out.

This was once my favorite sushi place and a weekly staple. Since it has reopened under new manage my it has lost my favor. The sushi is extremely overpriced for the quality. In addition to paying full price($ 21.95) they will charge you a surcharge of $ 4.00 if you leave to much food on your plate. The staff does not inform you of this ahead of time and there is no description of how many pieces are to an order. It is very easy to over order. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I will take my business elsewhere and I hope that management will rethink this absurd business model.

This was my favorite place for Sushi. Now that they have reopened — the sushi is sub-par and the menu is not what is reflected on their website. They have dropped many of their items. They are now better places for sushi in Frederick. Do not bother. Nothing great last forever I guess.

They lost their liquor license months ago and haven’t renewed it. The food is good but sake is part of the experience for me so if management reads this, get your liquor license back and we will gladly return!

The sushi was phenomenal and was wonderfully prepared, I’m pretty familiar with sushi and this was my first roll with pink seaweed — they made my roll into heart shapes for my plate. My father ordered the triple delight platter and it was«really good!», which speaks volumes coming from him. I tried a piece and the meat was cooked perfectly and was still tender. I also tried the egg roll. Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of egg rolls, but I could have devoured a small tray of these in one sitting. The atmosphere was quiet and serene — the tables/booths in the wall feel more secluded and give a nice private meal setting. The food was quickly prepared and the service was pleasant and prompt — I can foresee revisiting this restaurant frequently when I’m in the area.

Never sat down and tried the hibachi here but we typically go for lunch & we absolutely love it ! The employees are all so extremely friendly and there is always someone constantly walking around or looking around to make sure you have what you need… The service is super fast. I mean the food literally comes out in no time. It’s like shocking but I definitely am not complaining, especially when I’m starving lol. Love the atmosphere and the sushi is really good! Will definitely be back to try the hibachi sometime !!

Extremely poor and slow service. Called for a reservation for 10 people, took 15 min to get sat. Once sat, took 15 min to be greeted and to receive drinks. Hour and a half have passed and still no hibachi chef. Drinks empty, and no server has walked past to check on refills. Good food. Terrible service. I understand it’s a busy Saturday night but it shouldn’t take 90 min to see food in front of you.

Friday night date night with my husband(a very cold night!) and found that every restaurant in the area were crowded… including this one. Aside from being crowded, we were able to be seated in a booth(instead of eating at the grill/hibachi). We ordered the hibachi soup as an appetizer to thaw us out from the cold. My husband ordered General Tso’s chicken(his favorite Chinese dish) and I ordered the green shrimp curry(medium heat). The presentation was beautiful, and the food tasted fresh and light. I think I will order my curry with mild heat next time. The medium heat was too hot for me. I would like to try eating at the grill the next time and maybe some sushi. Overall, the dishes were affordable and delicious.

Went here for the very first time with my friend and absolutely loved the place! Extremely friendly and welcoming! They had a huge variety of sushi! They also had bento boxes and other traditional japanese meals. I would say that this place is a lot like a typical restaurant in Japan. My friend and I shared a sushi love boat which was plenty good! They also had a bar where you can sit and they make you all different types of sushi along with a entertaining section where the hibachi chief do acts and tricks with customers. I’ll definitely need to try out that next time I go in.

Best sushi in Frederick! Always fresh and always looking like art work. Spicy girl roll is my new favorite and eel avocado is always perfection. Big round of applause for the sushi chef, he continues to surprise me with his amazing presentation.

Typical Hibachi, the biggest difference however is service. Most hibachi places have rude servers who act as if they have much better things to do during work than serve patrons their food… Not here though. The man who obviously is either the owner or manager was very kind to us, seated us at the grill and even came back in the middle of our meal to make sure everything was good. I ordered the filet and salmon with fried rice. The salad they serve was mediocre, I like a ginger dressing but the dressing here was more so honey mustard? The mushroom soup taste the same as any other hibachi but who’s here for the freebies anyways? I want my hibachi! The chef was very friendly, engaging and funny but once you’ve been to one hibachi you’ve seen it all.(egg roll, volcano, foolishly catching shrimp bits in your mouth & failing miserably… Lol) The food was fresh and tasty so there’s not much to complain about. We ordered a Midori Sour and it was delightful, light and refreshing… Maybe a Lychee Martini next time too. Lol

I have eaten at most of the sushi restaurants in Frederick and I was surprised by the fact that a Hibachi place has better sushi than any I have tried yet(We tried all the sushi places that had over 4 stars on Unilocal and not one was on par with Taste of Asia for sushi!) We had another wonderful meal there last night were I was pleasantly surprised to find that they do 30% off all sushi on Sundays – so we ordered lots of both old favorites and tried some new things – absolutely enjoyed every piece! They send the meal out on a sushi boat which is fun. Their spicy tuna rolls are great! The yellowtail rolls always have big delicious pieces of tasty fish. The eel/cucumber rolls are excellent, as are the shrimp tempura rolls. Their specialty rolls are always generously sized and we haven’t tried one yet that wasn’t awesome(especially awesome at 30% off!!) I have had their Hibachi several times now and it is good fun and good food, which is great for dates or for the kids in the family, but when we go there now we mostly choose to sit on the non-hibachi side. You can order hibachi, sushi and Chinese from there while seated in nice comfortable raised booths with pretty, modern décor. We start with egg rolls which are great– not greasy and well flavored. Sushi is our main meal here now though we have tried several of their Chinese and Thai dishes and never been disappointed. If you love sushi, you need to give them a try – I am pretty sure you won’t be disappointed!
