We have not had a good experience with Republic. We have had the service for about six months.
They are more expensive than other companies out there. You are also locked into a 3 month contract at a time, and they will not let you out early if you wish to cancel the service.
In the six months we had them, once they left half of the trash still in the can. It’s spring, and hot in Maryland. Do I really want trash sitting in my garage for another week? Gross.
They also reduced recycling pickup to every other week. This was extremely inconvenient for us as we produce more recycling than trash. When I called to complain, I was reminded that recycling pickup was free. Well, how nice of them to reduce their free service but still lock me in to a contract for trash that they will only remove when they feel like it.
When I called to cancel, they asked me if I would stay if they reduced the rate. That is the most sketchy thing I have ever heard of and completely unethical.
If you need trash pickup, find another company.
