Maven Beauty Bar

I love shopping at Maven Beauty Bar! They stock so many of the natural, non-​toxic, high-​performance makeup brands and skincare that I would normally have to order online. Now I can just take a quick trip downtown to get what I need. The owner, Rebecca is awesome and so knowledgable about all of the products. She took the time to answer all of my questions and I ask a lot of questions! She was very patient and I didn’t feel any pressure to purchase all the products she was educating me on. I love how MBB has classes to teach you about different beauty products and how to choose/​use them. Also, If they run out of a product, you can get on a waiting list and they will call you once they’ve ordered them, and then again when it’s ready for you to pick up!

After arriving at my hotel in Frederick, I took a look at the local magazine and saw an article for the Maven Beauty Bar. Fellow Unilocalers gave rave reviews for this place. Well I had time to kill and decided to go there. I am very glad I went and had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca and Amye.
At Maven’s you can receive make-​up lessons, eyebrow threading, total skin care and Aromatherapy custom blending.
Rebecca provided a knowledgeable experience of eyebrow care. I was able to have my eyebrow threaded and love them. She also provided a short lesson of how to fill my brows in properly with organic products.
Amye is the Master Clinical Aromatherapist that I had the pleasure of sitting with getting a wealth of information on essential oils and how they can help you balance your body. After having the consult with Amye she was able to put together a custom blend of oils for my personal needs. To get information about this checkout the website
The shop is cute and the parking is metered on the street (something I am not use too) so i had to watch my time. Overall, if you are the need of organic products from people that actually use them check this place out.

I love this place, I’ve been here before to have my make up done, and Iove it. I’m going again next week to get my make up done for an event. Best place I’ve never been.

This place is totally a (not so) hidden gem. I happened to walk by it on the way back to my car one day and I’m so happy I stopped in.
The girls are BEYOND friendly (something you don’t usually get at these kinds of places) and their prices are really great for the quality of the items they sell. They have makeup, personalized aromatherapy products, jewelry, clothes, skin care products, and more!
I had my brows threaded with Bianca (so sad to hear she’s moving) and she was amazing! I was so relaxed (yes, relaxed while having my brows done) and she even touched them up with a pencil after she was done.
I can’t wait to become a regular customer here and continue to see and try all of the products they have and bring in.

My beautiful wife and I dropped in this evening and picked up some things ‘she needed’. They must work because she looked incredible across the dinner table at nearby Nido’s Italiano 20mins later. Oh! And we also got two Very cool «pumpkin spiced» fragrant and classy white candles from the owner Rebecca.

I’ll start by saying I’m not the demographic for Maven Beauty Bar– I am not girly. I don’t wear a lot of makeup. Pink is not my thing.
Despite that, it’s still one of my favorite places downtown because in spite of my non-​girly ways, Maven never pushes that stuff on you. You get what you need. They are crazy friendly.
One of my favorite features is their brow bar– I mean, how cool is that? So great to have a threading place right downtown. Even a non-​girly girl like me needs her eyebrows fixed up, ya know what I mean?
They also sell the bkr water bottles which are pretty much the coolest things ever, and make great gifts. They also started carrying these cool temporary tattoo jewelry sheets which are really fun.
If you’ve never been in, go. It’s fun and you won’t feel pressured into anything. If you’ve gone a few times, you’re a «regular» and Rebecca and her team make you feel so special.

Absolutely beautiful store with a great, relaxing vibe. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It’s an adult girl’s dream come true in here!

I’ve passed here several times and finally stopped in on a whim today as I was in need of some facial moisturizer. The store is very bright and airy despite its small size. I was immediately assisted by a super nice sales associate, Bianca. She is exactly what would make me loyal to the store, she knew the products well and put absolutely no pressure on me to purchase anything. She immediately directed to me to two different brands of what I was looking for and let me test them. It was probably because of her that I went over my price range of what I’d usually spend on personal care items. The extra expense may be worth it; I’m looking forward to testing out my new moisturizer (and lip gloss!) as it is organic and I am told a little goes a long way. Hopefully, I’ll be back soon to get that nail polish I had my eye on.

To me, Maven Beauty Bar is exactly what I’m looking for when shopping for beauty products.
1. Atmosphere — Skin care shopping is stressful because you want to find the best product for your skin. Maven’s feels like a spa, it’s so relaxing.
2. Knowledge — the owner of Maven has tried and used every product in her store. When she was talking, I noticed her skin was flawless. I mentioned this and she pointed to the products she used. She was drinking water from this trendy glass water bottle and the same products were a shelf away. Essentially, she sells what she knows and what works.
3. Eco/​Organic — All of her products are eco friendly or organic or natural. Down to the finger nail polish. Love it!
4. Customer Service — I came in the store because I wanted to try the One Love Organics line. I left out of the store with samples from One Love and a sense that my face was being taken care of. Added bonus? The owner emails me to make sure I had a good experience and if I needed anything to contact her.
Is this awesome or what?!

This spot is fantastic. I popped in and picked up a few items– my favorites are the Kai and Finn and Co. fragrances. I also purchased some Sara Happ Lip Scrub and Lip Slip as a gift. This shop is well curated with a knowledgeable owner. A must see for any beauty product lover.
