We used Maryland Event Rentals for our wedding in the fall of 2014. It took me over a year to no longer be angry with the situation to write a level-headed review. The rentals items themselves(tent, tables, chairs, dance floor) were fine; the customer service leading up to the day was OK; the customer service the day of the set up — HORRIBLE! The good: affordable prices, easy to book and fairly easy to make changes to the order. The products(tent, chairs, etc.) were good I guess, as I was getting married I wasn’t really paying much attention to the rentals — the tent kept us try when a torrential downpour came through before the ceremony and mid reception:) The bad: I don’t expect A+ service when trying to find a great deal on rentals, but I’m also a little surprised by one or two word response emails. We previously discussed on the phone that the set-up would take place late morning/early afternoon on Friday, day before the event, so that we would have plenty of time to decorate before rehearsal dinner at 7pm. The morning of, I emailed Dominique(the owner) trying to get a confirmation of when the set-up crew would be at location, this is the entire email I got as a response: «This afternoon» — extremely detailed, right? After many calls and an unresponsive set-up crew, they finally showed up at our location right before 7pm, forcing the father of the groom to stay behind and wait for the crew to finish up, and being late to the very own rehearsal him and my mother-on-law planned for us. With the set-up delay, we were not able to decorate the day before, which forced our friends and family(who were planning on and were ready to set-up on Friday) to show up early Saturday morning and rush to set everything up before the ceremony. This delay caused many people in the wedding party to stress out the day before and the day of our wedding(myself included). I called Dominique the morning of my wedding to express my frustration with the situation and pay the remaining balance. All he did was say something like«Well, the crew was busy at another much bigger set up» and just asked for credit card info. Really?! No apology, none, and of course no discount of any kind. To top that off… on Sunday, once the set up crew was done breaking down the tent and packing up, they walked over and asked for a few beers. Not very professional, but whatever. In terms of the folks I had interaction with at Maryland Event Rentals, the only one that seemed to understand that I was a bride who was spending my Friday calling this rental company to basically heard people, was the receptionist lady, I think she said her name was Jessica. She took it upon herself to repeatedly call the set-up crew to get them to finally contact me. Thank you!
