Best sandwich in Frederick, by far. It’s all about the rolls. Meticulously made, so be patient. Nice fresh homemade mozz.

Absolutely one of the best cold cut sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. The bread was crisp and flaky with layers of flavor that included salami and fresh cheese with a tangy, spicy pepper mix that sent my taste buds racing! You must check this Italian Café out to get your fix!

My 1st time here. I ordered the Muffuletta sandwich(sub) and my wife ordered the Sicilian Panini. It took about 15 minutes, but it was a beautiful day so we just sat at one of tables outside and enjoyed the sunshine. The Muffuletta was very good; it could have been great if only the bread was not a day or two old. Sorry to say, it was a definitely stale. The meats and cheeses and olive topping were very good, but for almost $ 9 I expect fresh bread too(heck I expect fresh bread on ANY sandwich I get from a restaurant). My wife enjoyed the panini — she said it was good but not an out-of-this-world good. Bottom line: we liked the sandwiches enough to come back another time and try others, If I am served stale bread again however …

When applicable, I usually try to eat at a place before I review it. In this case this is a small Italian market, where you can buy fresh bread and pasta and seasonings and whatnot, but they also have a decent food menu, and you can eat inside or at one of the two small tables outside. Now, I really like the store itself. There’s always at least one or two interesting things that catches my eye that I have to purchase, whether it’s some bread, or even just some limoncello candy. But I finally got around to trying some food, and so I ordered a spinach, cheese, and ham wrap. It was delicious And I also appreciated the tomato wrap it came in, which not only looks nice but tastes good as well. My biggest complaint(which another reviewer mentioned) was that they forgot about my order. I sat outside due to the nice weather, and I was waiting for quite a bit before someone came out and asked what I had ordered. I had to tell them again, and eventually they managed to bring out my sandwich. But I’m not going to be too critical because it was a really good meal and I always like popping in the store anyway, and I think it’s good enough that I’ll probably eat there again.

I tried grilled california panini and I have to say it was one the best I ever had. Everything is fresh and it has the flavor of home cooked meal. Love it!

LOVE every bit of this place, everything is fresh, the mozzarella is delicious and the paninis are big and filled with good stuff, the gelato was perfect and coffee was strong and silky. The place is really small but totally AWESOME!

Tiny little hole in the wall with some delicious sandwiches. The space is pretty tight and there isn’t much room to eat there so be prepared to take it to go if the space is filled up. All in all though, definitely worth a trip!

Your expected deli, a bit small, pretty busy. 4 star sandwiches. They also sell freshly made pasta of all kinds plus a variety of different Italian goods. Sandwiches are freshly made, by a lady in the back. A little wait, but it’s worth it. The sandwiches are very filling and yummy. I ordered the Italian Panini, it was delicious. The workers are nice and the prices are fair. Located in a cute town as well.

Ate in for lunch a couple days ago and we all really liked the food. We had: pastrami sandwich(really delicious, tender juicy pastrami), a curried chicken salad(the only disappointment, but not because of flavor, because whatever serving we got had almost no chicken), a caprese sandwich(yummy, the mozzarella is fantastic), and a caprese salad(delicious balsamic, fresh greens, and it could have fed a small family). We’d definitely eat there again.

The absolute best Italian deli ever. The sandwiches are out of this world. Their combinations are different and delicious. There are always special sandwiches daily. She also makes lasagna and other Italian specialties and sells them via the frozen section. The gelato is yummy and her rice pudding is to die for. This is one of my top 5 in downtown Frederick! You must try it!

Walking around we stumbled into this great market sandwich shot. Sandwiches are huge, my daughter and I could only eat half. The staff was fun, owner was gracious. My muffuletta was perfect and looking forward to eating the other half later tonight!

I went in today for the first time, excited to get some meat and cheese. The slicer was being used to cut tomatoes, so they asked me to wait until that was finished to cut my order. This ended up being a 20 minute wait and I even had to leave to feed my parking meter. Other customers came in for other goods and they were served promptly while I waited. Eventually they finished the tomatoes and cleaned the slicer. I was rung up and apologized to by the girl helping me, who is apparently new and still learning. Despite the wait, the food is DELICIOUS. I just recommend finding a way to put your customers first when multi tasking between service and prep.

A little slow for my sandwich to be prepared, but they were seriously busy and so I didn’t mind. And it was a beautiful day so sitting outside and watching the traffic walking past made it a nice time. I chose the three cheese panini and it was delish. Mozzarella, brief and Muenster made for a really tasty trio and because it was on a toasted panini, it was all nice and melty. Their«market» has several shelves of the sort of stuff you might find in the World Market — imported pastas and sauces and suchlike.

Some of the best subs I have had anywhere! My normal order is the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sub and its to die for. I get it with all the fixings and the bread cant be beat. Sometimes we will go and get the special of the day, which tends to be a hot panini. I have never had a bad experience here. They used to cater lunches at an old employer of mine once a month and they would bring a tray of different subs. I would be in heaven. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and will help you with anything. I would recommend this place to anyone. Also have great frozen pre-made Italian dishes. Stop in for lunch… i promise you wont be disappointed.

Coning in here really reminds me of being in Italy. You almost don’t even notice the store unless you’re looking for it. I love all the European brands and specialities you can get here. Even the lemon candies from Sorrento! I enjoy coming here occasionally for a sandwich or salad. They are fresh and the portions are huge. You get what you pay for, though– this isn’t a $ 5 sandwich joint. My only complaint is that it’s so cramped. Especially lunch time– you can barely turn around. Then again, makes you feel like you’re back in a little deli in Rome! Another reason it’s so cramped– the service is slow. And while you’d hope for a friendly face, don’t expect it. Sometimes you’ll get it, sometimes you won’t. Don’t miss their homemade mozzarella. It’s out of this world. The paninis are delicious, too.

Quaint little sandwich shop. Love their cold cut sandwich. The rueben is great too! You can call your order in advance. Would definitely recommend for lunch! Not a ton of seating though.

I seem to be craving this place more and more… like right now, for example. I’m such a sucker for a good, fresh sub and you can definitely have a variety of those here. This place is super tiny so we haven’t actually eaten there; just grab and go. Well, sometimes grab and go… other times it’s wait and wait then go. They are not very good with their pick-up time estimates so keep that in mind if you’re trying to pick up a sub in a hurry. With that said, it’s mostly worth the wait and they must know that. I have had several subs and they always come on the tastiest baguettes. You know, the kind of chewy but still crispy type of pillowy deliciousness. Yum… this isn’t helping my craving. I’ve been told they randomly have pasta salads or the like but they never have on days I’ve called. They have several varieties of not crap chips so that’ll do considering how yummy the subs are.

In my opinion, the Italian panini with some red onions is the best sandwich ever. Everything on it is fresh and tastes incredible. I usually eat half of it hot when I get it and the other half cold for lunch the next day, and it tastes just as amazing. However, the service here is seriously lacking. Very unfriendly and don’t handle a crowd well. Generally, as a costumer, I don’t mind waiting as long as the food is good quality and the service is decent. The worst part is I think the person that has been the most unfriendly on the phone and at the service counter has been the owner. I’ll continue going here because the food really is delicious, it’s close by, and reasonably priced for the quality and size of the sandwiches. However, if another Italian deli opened up with the same quality of food and better service, I would 100% go there.

I came across this off of Unilocal and went by the reviews! This place is highly recommended if your super hungry and in the mood for a REAL Italian sandwich! It was SO good. One sandwich you can definitely split between 2 people! This place is a must!

Food– 5 stars! Ordered a Cuban and Mufaletta… Only able to eat half of Cuban it was so large… Muff for dinner! Service– 0 stars… We were standing at register to order when cashiers friend came in and everything stopped so they could gab. 1230 is lunch time and it was super busy! But– as stated by others… No WOP’s here!(I should know… I am one!) Very small area to dine and it was full! Tables outside but there were 3 of us! You would do well to expand… Food was terrific and not overpriced for Maryland!

Aside from the service, which is minorly awkward and a bit cold– this place is the bee’s knees. Or shall I say«gli ginocchia del api». Homemade sandwiches with homemade mozzarella in a homemade sort of town. The store is peppered with subtly passive aggressive signs. On the freezer glass it said something like«You break the glass you buy it». Which makes one think, how often are people breaking her freezer glass? This also includes a note in the bathroom which was either about turning off the lights or throwing the trash away that had a little too much attitutde for me. These little signs beg the question: isn’t there a nicer way to approach this. But all of these things really add up to me thinking: the business owner is very particular. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially when it comes to food prep. I went up to order, starting at the large paper half boats with the menu on them, and decided on the muffaletta. This delicious creation was served on hearty french bread, super fresh italian meats, and a thick housemade vinegary relish of sorts. The sandwich was ooh and ahh worthy. The size was spectacular. They had crab chips — that’s a win. I’d definitely come back here, the two small outdoor patio tables were taken on the beautiful day I went. This could be the perfect little sandwich café if the customer service was just a tad warmer. However, everything else is definitely bringing me back.

My Frederick friend raved and ranted about this place. Located in downtown Frederick, it’s a nice friendly local establishment that is a small deli with limited tables. I got myself a sandwich. I waited a very long time before they made it, making me think they cannot handle volumes, considering that it wasn’t that crowded. The sandwich is big, but once I bit into it, I didn’t think it was great. Maybe the high Unilocal marks influenced me, but really wasn’t that memorable. I thought it was a regular deli, period.

Blink and you’ll miss this tiny shop next to a parking garage in downtown Frederick! I really enjoyed my cold cut sub– don’t remember the exact ingredients but it had traditional cold cuts such as mortadella and salami and provolone cheese, and I added lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for more zip. The hot pepper relish was good but I wish they used some more. I’ll have to ask for extra next time! JV enjoyed his Rueben(who orders a Rueben in an Italian deli?). I had a bite and it was fine. I also bought a chocolate chip walnut cookie that was very good and only $ 1. Would’ve liked to try the canolis but they were $ 2.50 and bite sized so no thanks. They also have gelato for dessert. A couple of drawbacks are the surly teenage sandwich maker and the«you break it, you bought it» signs posted prominently throughout the shop. Smart Unilocalers know that business should have insurance to cover accidental damages and should not try to intimidate customers into paying for such things!

First of all, I love their panini! During my lunch break I go there to get Sicilian Panini. Yumm so goood! When I first went there, I got the Italian Panini, but it was a bit to salty for me because of the prosciutto. The sicilian panini has a different meat but everything is the same as the italian panini. I usually eat there, but when I’m running late I just make it to go.(It can take up to 15mins for it to be done). Overall, I enjoy eating their panini, and I’m going to definitely try their subs next time!
