Great store! I am an avid antiquer, and this is one of my favorite places. First of all, the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff are great. There are tons of different vendors, with a wide variety of goods, from staffordshire to Americana to modernist furnishings. They also have a large selection of books and records. A great thing about cannon hill is that they have very good turnover, too, so you could probably go every week and see new things. Another great thing– cannon hill is located inside an historic building, which is super cool. The staff are very knowledgeable and can tell you all about it. Since it is an old building– be forewarned– it will be cold in there if it’s winter. Also– they have free parking out back on the weekends, not sure about the weekdays though.

I went to Cannon Hill Place for a Unilocal Event, but I wanted to make sure to review the store WITHOUT the event. The two-story, old building a few blocks from the canal seems to contain a collaboration of local re-sellers, a corner for clothing, a corner for books, a corner for records and CDs, and then about 45 corners with furniture and knick-knacks. There is also a music corner, most interesting to me. That’s about 6−7% interesting. This place is for someone who likes the hunt, not necessarily the find. But you can bargain with them a bit, and sometimes they’ll have to make a call, but there is a bit of wiggle room. It’s worth the 2 block foray from the main streets to check it out, but you may or may not decide to return. I probably won’t, but my wife might.

I love this place, it is a full of beautiful treasures! It is located in a very cool historical building, there is an upstairs area as well. I got some amazing deals and the people there were so nice and very helpful. Be sure you have lots of time to see everything and plenty of room in your car for all of your purchases!

In love! Cannon Hill Place is EXACTLY what an antique shop should be. I worked in the antique industry for several years and I’m no expert-but-I do know that too many places find something and just because it’s old put a huge price stamp on it. Cannon Hill is not one of those places! Each room offers items from different vendors who make it apparent that they know the quality of antiques and the need of their customers. In addition, there prices are very reasonable! Allow yourself at least an hour when visiting. Cannon Hill is one of those magical places where there is something new around every corner and you want to be sure to peek at every nook, cranny and shelf in the room. It’s two floors full of vintage and refurbished goodness!

Ye, what treasures behold hind the grand wooden doors. Many a hidden coin for less coin then ye expect. This place is amazing. First — it’s a converted grain mill which is awesome. If you ask the owner she’ll tell you about the history. Most of the antiques/fun stuff there is through consignment. That’s why you see someone’s initials on each of the price tags. So it seems as though the consigners are pricing the antiques– cause you call tell that some people are much more reasonable then others. I absolutely love this place. The place is oozing charm and hidden treasures it each do it’s numerous alcoves. I could have searched there for half a day and still not have seen every single thing. I absolutely love this place. I got a sunburst vintage clock for 25 dollars with a couple of matching sconces. I got a vintage long sleeve button up for 2 bucks. I got an awesome glass coffee carafe that’s shaped like a graduates cylinder for 8 bucks. I just love love love this place. I wasn’t in the mood to sift through records at the time, but there sure are a lot all over. I gotta go back … I gotta go back!

To echo the reviewer above, this is an awesome vintage/antique store! One of the best I’ve been to in a while in terms of appealing to my taste. The Emporium down the street has more vendors, but it’s pricey and more antique-y. Cannon Hill has lots of 40’s-70’s vintage items and the booths are less pristine looking than the Emporium, so you feel like you are digging around for treasures. Much more fun. Good selection of inexpensive vintage clothes(mostly women’s). Walked out with a fabulous gold speckled pyrex serving tray for half of what it goes for online. Wish I checked Unilocal first to see that you could get 20% off, we only asked for 10%.

I love Cannon Hill. They are always my first stop when I go to Frederick– since I found them a year or so ago, I’ve bought a ton of stuff from them(Pyrex mixing bowls! Vintage bags! An entire Noir-themed Halloween costume!) and once I bought so much at once that when I tentatively asked if there was any way to get a discount, I got 20% off! Though the staff aren’t immediately warm and fuzzy, they smile and, if you start a conversation they’re not unpleasant(more than one can say for Emporium down the street. Ick!). This place has such variety you’re almost guaranteed to walk out with a new treasure!
