Wow! Amazing food. The hush puppies were delicious with brown sugar butter! I got the pit beef sandwich which was made to order… little BBQ sauce. Definitely go with the meal as you can choose the hush puppies too. It is a bit more cost efficient. The location is behind a tattoo parlor so if not careful you’ll miss it!

The best bbq I’ve eaten in the Baltimore-Frederick-Ellicott City corridor . My wife isn’t a big bbq fan but she was very impressed with how tender and flavorful the beef brisket was . My Memphis pork Bb was outstanding . Highly recommended.

I can’t review because the restaurant wasn’t open during stated business hours today. The outgoing message says they open at 11:00 am on Monday, but it was closed when I was there at noon. Also, the menu on the website doesn’t match the one posted. Please correct the information on the website … I can’t wait to try the food here!

We were very excited to try this place! We called ahead at 4:30. No one answered but the answering machine stated that they were open until 6:00. We arrived at 4:45. The OPEN sign was on, the window was open and there were 3 young men inside. My husband walked up and was looking at the menu when I went and looked in and said Hi! One of the guys said«We’re closed!» So… We didn’t get to try it and we won’t be back. Can’t trust a place if they can’t be nice or professional, even if it is in a truck.

Great food! The BBQ was awesome… I had pit beef w/o sauce. My wife had pit pork w/sauce. I won that battle. The sauce is good, but they do such a great job with their smoking process that the subltlety of sauceless is the way to go. The sides were awesome! great fries and a HUGE order of them. Cole slaw was quite good too.

Went there on a rainy afternoon, it was open and despite it being an ugly rainy cold day, the employee was super welcoming and helpful. I did know what to get, no problem. The employee gave me several samples and really did seem to get bothered by that. I got a 1lb of pulled pork for $ 14. I originally though it was bit expensive but the TASTEWASAMAZING! The coleslaw was good, but really the meat is what will bring me back. Great food!!!

We made a phone in order for a pulled pork sandwich, full rack of ribs, and wings for lunch. The person taking orders said it would take about 30 minutes. And when we arrived, 35 minutes later, our order was ready to go sans fries as they believe in crispy fries instead of soggy leftover fries(win! Only takes another 5 or so minutes). I think calling ahead for a pick up order is the way to go since yes it is a food truck behind a tattoo parlour and had very limited seating(2 picnic tables), and it takes about 30 minutes. They were nice enough to separate the order however we wanted to pay. Also, the parking area is a small bumpy gravel lot. Now. the ribs. yum! We had dry ribs and goodness were they flavorful! They were tender but not so tender that the meat fell off the bone and couldn’t hold its shape. It was perfect, there was texture to the meat but was not tough at all: D. Half a rack had 6 – 7 bones. One time half a rack was enough for 2 meals for one person, but a second time the bones were smaller and one person ate it all in one meal, so there is variability unfortunately, but that’s life! Oh and the ribs don’t come with sides, you must order additional sides. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! But definitely a knife and fork affair. I end up rising the bottom bun, and they give you soooo much meat, enough for 2 meals for me. The fries were tasty, salty, crispy with some depth, definitely addictive, and they definitely give you a huge serving when added to pulled pork sandwich meal. The cole slaw was good but nothing to rave about, a little on the wetter side and a little mustard flavor I think. They also make their own sweet tea. I’m no expert but it definitely was more sweet than tea, so I guess as it should be? All in all, def the office’s go to bbq fix: D I highly recommend and may even look into how their catering works. The sandwiches are worth the cost, and the ribs are worth it, even though they are a bit pricier and there is potential for size variability.

It’s a truck. A freakin’ blue truck. I had driven past it many, many times and pretty much scoffed at its existence. After all, it’s a dang truck. One day, however, I found myself driving between points A and B and noticed a line of people standing in line by said freakin’ dang blue truck and decided to stop. After all, there HAD to be something to a line of people standing outside of it, right? So… I waited in line, I laughed at myself(quietly – didn’t want those in the line of the freaking dang blue truck to think I was nuts) for being a lemming and I made my way to the front of the line. I noticed that they sold several types of pulled pork, barbecue and brisket and, as one whose family mostly hails from North Carolina, I did as any self-respecting person would do: I ordered the North Carolina style pulled pork. I got it as a sandwich with cole slaw(a little runnier than I like) and a few hush puppies to go along with it. Once I got home and inspected it, that is when the party started. The party in my mouth, that is! I consider myself somewhat of a snob where Carolina style pulled pork is concerned and feel that Maryland, while aficionados of all things crab/Old Bay relayed, isn’t the expert on what constitutes good ol’ pulled pork. Oh, but the Blue’s BBQ Company IS!!! The following week, I went back again and bought some more pulled pork and some brisket and this time, I shared with my kids(in my defense, they were at camp the week prior!) and they agreed with me that it was absolutely stellar! My ONLY criticisms that the hush puppies aren’t quite as tasty as what’s found down in NC and the visibility of the truck aren’t fantastic but, honestly, it’s such a small critique that I’m not going to deduct anything for either! The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are good and the taste… oh, the taste of their Carolina style pulled pork! The freakin’ dang blue truck is a welcome, welcome site, y’all and it’s a lot closer than driving down to Durham for some great pork. Now, put some Brunswick Stew on the menu and I’ll be in heaven!

I came by for lunch today(my first ever visit) and the brisket is STUPID good! Also they had a new mac n cheese they let me try and it was amazing. Hidden gem in Frederick. Bringing the wife back on the weekend. Best brisket in the whole area. Turn in where Snakeman’s Tattoo is and you won’t miss it.

I was there 45 mins before they closed and I got great food, super tasty and totally delicious! Big size portions. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Amazing Memphis pulled pork bbq. Surprised by the cinnamon butter for the fried hush puppies. Bonus! The kids had fried mac n cheese triangles with a spicy ranch to dunk in. This has become my twice a week stop!

I went to Blues on the recommendation of a friend because I was craving a pit beef sandwich. It takes them a little longer than expected just to put together one sandwich when I was the only customer, but it was a good sandwich. It came with the house bbq sauce already on it, but it didn’t seem like there was much on it. There was a lot of meat on the sandwich, so that was great. My only complaint is that it was really peppery. I like pepper, but it was a bit much and I know I’m the only one in my family that could possibly stand to eat that much pepper, so I probably won’t be going back very much.

My god the food here is good. Pit beef sandwich is the way to go, although their brisket is signature. Plus, its the only place in town you can find real hush puppies. I knocked off a star cause they got my order wrong. I love their hush puppies, so you can imagine my surprise when i got back to my desk at work only to see french fries… which I enjoyed consuming as well, and shared with my coworker because they literally fill up the entire container with fries… so many french fries! and the salt… not sure if its too much or just too good, but whatever kinda salt they are using on those fries, they need to keep it up cause it is oh so good… and their bbq sauce is one of kind and they add just the right amount to the pit beef sandwich. Man… I thoroughly enjoyed eating that sandwich at work… its a great go to meal, and the wait is not bad if you don’t call ahead. You can just walk right up to the window and order. I was a little apprehensive at trying this place out the first time I went, because it literally looks like a little shack with a deck attached to it, so its carryout only, but man good food comes from many places so I tried to be open minded and in the end, it was well worth it. Oh and like 90 percent of the menu is under ten bucks, WTF!

Best brisket sandwich I’ve ever had, and obsessed with their onion rings. Haven’t had anything bad there and the staff is great. May be a little hidden but definitely worth looking for.

Three and a half stars. Truck is barely visible from the road with a thin BBQ banner and lettered sign routing you behind Snakeman’s tattoo/piercing/leather shop. Table and trash can nearby when the weather’s willing, somewhat limited parking in the shared gravel parking lot. Blue’s staff were friendly, though the money-handler was under the weather. Soda beverages available. They overcharged me on a different amount than their displayed menu stated, and forgot one of my sides– both were resolved in a timely fashion. It’s rare that I like the sides more than the meat at a BBQ spot. Fried pickles were awesome, definitely get those. Warm hush puppies were light on scallion, with a good crust and soft interior… sadly served with cold, hard butter. Coleslaw was okay. Half-tub of BBQ white & pink beans were hearty, with some pulled meat mixed in. Carolina style pulled pork sandwich was pretty dry, which the cashier insisted it was supposed to be despite the menu’s apple vinegar sauce description. Smoked brisket sandwich was better, though the meat was sliced thin and there was barely any minimal bark. Kaiser rolls weren’t super plush. Future hit list: the missile, pit beef/ham, baby back ribs, fried mac n cheese, ultimate muchos nachos, chili cheese fries, loaded baked potato salad.

So glad we came across this place thanks to Unilocal while in the area! At first we had a hard time finding it as it was a bit hidden behind two buildings so we missed it at first. It’s just a truck with a little shack built next to it. No indoor seating. I am forgetting the exact name of what I got but I think I got the Carolina — with slaw on top and a side of hush puppies. Really so yummy, I think some of my favorite hush puppies I have ever had. The sandwich had really great flavors and was HUGE. My only wish is that it had more slaw, but no other complaints!

Best BBQ in the area and maybe Maryland. I’ve only tried the Carolina pulled pork with slaw and it is amazing. The fries are better than Boardwalk fries and the hush puppies were good with the honey butter they give you. My kids love the ham and my husband well he eats anything. I really want to try the ribs but every time I go I get the pulled pork because it is that good. I recommend this place to a coworker who now goes there at least once a week. He said everything is delicious and I really need to try the ribs. They do take credit cards but sometimes the machine is down. The only seating is outside at picnic tables so plan to bring it home or dress appropriately for the weather. You won’t be disappointed especially if you want good pulled pork.

Come out here for the ribs and to score bonus points with your guy. This permanently parked food truck screams man food – and their ribs and fries are indeed tasty. They have four outdoor picnic tables under trees. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or pack diaper wipes. A bathroom to wash your hands covered in grease? Fuhgeddaboudit. It’s hard to find if you plug the address in to Google Maps – for once Unilocal’s map is more accurate. Don’t even try to come here without GPS on a smartphone. Even on our second visit we accidentally passed it and had to turn around. A full rack of ribs and fries is plenty of food for two adults. The fries are seasoned beautifully and remind me of curly fries… but they were not very warm. The ribs are pretty good – dry rub and smoked – the way any good Texan(my husband) would like them. They’re not as good as The Salt Lick, but we are a long way from Austin, TX. We had the brisket and ribs on our first visit – although the brisket is decent, just get the ribs. The only thing they need to improve is speeding up service a bit. It was about a 20 minute wait each time we came – which would be more tolerable if it were a regular restaurant.
