Friendly and helpful staff… when you can find someone. Their prices for seasonal items can be ridiculously high but with the coupons I use at each visit, it balances out.

The quality of everything has gone down but the price does nothing but skyrocket! It is no longer cheaper to make anything on your own when these people think it’s ok to charge $ 10 for pins or a small roll of ribbon.

I feel sorry for the people working there because they are so short staffed.

Was highly disappointed on my last two visits here. I was looking for a particular fabric I was certain they would have; only had 3 rolls in stock, on clearance, all black. Customer service rep was non-existent for questions both times I came here(within 3 weeks of each other). Not sure I’ll return.

I have such a love/hate relationship with this store. In all the years I’ve been coming here, their customer service has been nonexistent. On the other hand though… if you need hot glue and sequins, where else are you going to go? The only other store in the area is comparable.

I try to avoid posting a slightly negative review, unless I’ve visited a couple of times and the trend has continued. In this case it has. When reviewing an establishment like Jo-Ann’s– I’m reviewing on service. They are a major retailer. Obviously they have a lot of stock. Thus this review has nothing to do with what they sell but instead how they sell it. Twice now I’ve gotten something cut from the fabric cutting section. Both times I’ve received really cold and unhelpful service. When I requested 42.5 inches of elastic, the sales associate rolled her eyes and haughty explained that that is a yard and an 1⁄8th. I’ve gotten the same attitude when I’ve asked questions in the past. Unnecessary eye rolling is really not appreciated. I observed other customers getting and complaining about the same type of service. Maybe the times that I visit are bad times but the lines are always really long. Today I used up about 40 minutes of my lunch break to get a yard and 1⁄8th(I learn fast) of elastic. Yes, it would have been faster to spend $ 6.00 and get way more elastic than I needed but I’m cheap and as a result I had to stand in a long line to get the elastic cut and then to check out.

I called the JoAnn store in Franklin to ask if they had long sleeve tee shirts for a project I am making. They told me they knew they had short sleeve. I explained I needed long sleeve, the lady then told me she was busy and would have to put me on hold. I held for 12 minutes… then called back. She just said sorry, she was busy! That is horrible customer service!!!

It’s a craft store that sells fabric. Lots of fabric. They have great sales and flyers. They also send you coupons via email and have a web app for coupons(both android and iPhone). The staff is mostly helpful. If getting in and out of their shopping center was easier, I would probably frequent this place a little more. I do love their selection and the ability to combine coupons.

This store is really big and if you’re into arts & crafts, DIY, or anything that falls around, near, directly on those categories, this is a dangerous place to be. Fortunately, I have a(moderate?) reign on my spending self and meandered straight over to the fabrics section, as I wanted to pick something I could craft a headboard out of. Though I looked at nearly every fabric roll, I ended up choosing the first I had seen. It was $ 9/yd, which was more than I was anticipating, but it turns out it was a special inventory and not part of the regular stock. I felt better though when I wandered to a section I hadn’t seen and saw the designer fabrics at $ 45+/yd(oh my!). I saw some fabrics on the low end of $ 2/yd or so. To say the least, lots of variety. The woman that cut the fabric was nice and helpful too.

I’ve been shopping here for 4 years(at least) and I’m a fashion design student(so I know my fabrics and whatnot). I went here for all my fabric needs as a Freshman and Sophomore because it’s cheap and conveniently located. If you’re a quilter or a homemaker, this is your perfect store. HOWEVER, if you’re an experienced seamtress/designer, you’ll soon grow tired of JoAnn’s selection. A lot of their fabric is the same year after year with a few rotating ‘seasonal’ aisles/floating islands. If you want good quality fabric, you want to go to Textiles or just order something online. And if you think I’m being harsh, I promise you that every other friend of mine at school in the Fashion program thinks the same thing. Many of us only go here for linings, zippers, needles, etc. and now that they have their app, you can get things for even better prices. P. S. Their app is WONDERFUL for saving you money. I’ve saved at least $ 50 now in just using their app about 3 to 4 times.

This year is the year I learn about Fabric Stores. The Better Half of the Unilocal Couple is on a mission to hem all our new curtains. I didn’t know you could even hem curtains, but you can. But you need thread in the right color. Jo-Ann has this thread, as well as all kinds of other things I have no idea about. She was thrilled to find the thread we needed and off we went.
