As a lifelong Franklin resident living down the street from this place most of my life, my only regret is that I didn’t try it sooner! Hands down the most delicious hot sandwiches around. Their steak tips and cheese sub is to die for. Great local gem with fresh and delicious hot/cold sandwiches, decent sides, and a respectable selection of spirits, beer/wine, and snacks. Not to mention warm and friendly service. A consistent stop for a quick and delicious lunch on the go.

Italian sub was satisfactory. Nothing to rave about. Since original and son sold, food has been average. Good selection of Italian pastries and wine. Very friendly crew

Subs are pretty tasty, not too big though, I try to go here whenever I pick up land o lakes american cheese cause it’s the cheapest price in town-$ 3.99! Employees are very welcoming and attentive to your needs. I recommend here for a quick lunch.

Devitas is definitely a hidden gem. I moved to Franklin 8 years ago and as my friends and I were sitting at a red light one of them joked«Hey look… that place has a special on a box of wine and a porketta» We all laughed and drove on. Coming from the city I had no idea what a porketta was and I had no experience with boxes of vino. The box of wine came to the house warming party and we did keg stands off it but that’s another story. Eventually and thankfully I returned for a sandwich. Devitas has some amazing sandwiches. The bread is always fresh and the meats are top quality. Some of my favorites are the Steak and Cheese(w or w/o pepper, onion, mushroom). Nice and cheesy and just right on the salty n greasy. Roast Beef — Nice and rare — paired with American, Mayo, pickles and banana peppers. MMMMM!!! The Reuben is awesome. Very tasty! Served on marble bread and a little messy but well worth the extra napkin wastage. I typically get one of the 3 above. I’ve also had the Meatball, Cheeseburger, Turkey and others. They also have a little self serve spot with steamed Hot Dogs and usually a Soup or Chop Suey or Chili or something. Always good! I wish, wish, WISH they were open on Sunday but I’m guessing since it’s a family run place that they like 1 day to rest. If you’re in the area and want a sandwich. Call Devitas!

A co-worker turned me on to this place recently — he had been raving about the sandwiches for weeks, so we decided to take a quick ride out to see if they lived up to the hype. First surprise — DeVitas is not just a place that serves sandwiches — it’s also your classic neighborhood convenience store — stocking beer, wine, and a smattering of different grocery items. Seems like a good place to stop on the way home to pick up an item or two. Not to be distracted, I proceeded directly to the large chalkboard behind the counter with the list of sandwiches. It’s got all the things you would expect, and many of the ones that you wouldn’t expect(but that most good sandwich places feature). Being that it had been a few months since thanksgiving, I went with the Turkey Gobbler — turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry. Co-worker went with the classic Italian sub. The sandwiches lived upto every bit of hype. On the way back to the office I counted 3 other sandwich places — no slight to them(as I’ve never eaten at any of them) but I’d drive past them to get to DeVitas any day of the week. All the deli items appeared to be Boar’s Head(high quality) and the sandwiches come in large and small — depending on variety they run anywhere from $ 4 – 7. They also have a bunch of side items, and they do catering. Bonus points for the«Bacon is Meat Candy» sign — in fact bonus points for a lot of the signs — mostly hand drawn and very endearing. Pro Tip — call ahead and phone in your order — less wait time when you get there!
