Went to Bear Path Acres for the first time today. After living in San Diego and being spoiled by the San Diego Zoo, we weren’t sure what to expect. Bear Path Acres was beyond our expectations. Unlike your average zoo, you are able to see the animals up close and personal and they offer the option to get a feed bucket for $ 3.00 for the petting zoo type animals(llamas, horses, bunnies, pigs, etc.). We were also lucky enough to go on a day when they were feeding all of the carnivores so we got to watch them feed the lions, tigers, timber wolf, and bear. All of the staff were very sweet, dedicated, and knowledgable people who all seem to love what they are doing and the animals they care for. Would highly recommend going here and getting a feed bucket. Although it is small, there is more than enough to see and do to make the visit worth your while and your money is going to good cause. Glad we were able to contribute to a sanctuary for animals in need and contribute to their excellent care. We had a great time.

Things may have changed since last time I was there but I feel this is a good intentions kind of place and they really are doing the best they can, but the enclosures for the animals are/were way too small. I’m sure their living situations are better than the places they were rescued from but I found I was unable to enjoy myself because I felt sorry for the animals.

This was a great educational experience! My family and I had such a great time at Bear Path Acres! Not only is it a more up close experience but the individuals who were working the establishment were very knowledgeable and friendly! We will definitely be visiting again! Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
