Food is great, atmosphere is awesome. This bar is the best in the area! Valerie is an awesome bartender.

Great place to have a family gathering. Our family has been having parties at the Underpass for over 7 years. Awesome staff, great food and an owner that cares about the community he serves. Courtney is awesome!

Il keep it short and simple. Burger was fantastic. The nachos sucked. The service was slow but the bartender waitress was a hard worker and doing it all. Not a whole lot to do in there but play virtual golf.

This place has really good food and drink specials, which I am a fan of. Pretty much everything from the menu is always pretty good for bar type food. Some of the best wings and tacos (green sauce) I’ve ever had! Place is fun and the staff/​people are friendly.

Not a real bad place for get-​togethers. But the place was literally frigid cold. I don’t know if it’s the heating problem, cost-​cutting. But it was colder than usual.

I’ve beem here several times, but last night was the first time we actually ordered food. We ordered a steak quesadilla holy sh! t was that thing amazeballs. I can’t even describe it, but it was pure awesomeness in our mouths. We also ordered miches. They were so delicious we were takin em down.
It wasn’t overly packed nor was it overly loud. I was slightly confused tho how they went from rap to country lol not that I’m complaining I equally love both genres.
They’re getting 4 stars tho because they overcharged us. We were too tired to argue about the discrepancy, but if they hadn’t had 3 different people serve our table the confusion probably wouldn’t have happened.

Fantastic burgers, good deals on booze, and nice ambiance. I could go on and on about their great food or $ 2 pints (errday!), but long story short, Underpass far exceeds expectations. I feel like it’s time for another episode of…

Highlights: pervasive, searing, instantaneous heat; blue cheese and celery
Verdict: 3.5 out of 4 screaming skulls
Bottom Line: GOOD GOD. What maniac would coat chicken wings in this diabolical sauce fashioned from the mysterious ‘ghost pepper’? Probably a maniac like me. Good flavor at the inset, and intense, unforgiving heat every moment thereafter. Simply eating them is a physical struggle. It’s very difficult not to ask for a glass of milk or cup of lime wedges while eating. Those not accustomed to spicy food should use EXTREME CAUTION. Those used to spicy food should still exercise EXTREME CAUTION. Y’all have been warned.
Amber is super sweet and attentive, taking great care of us ‘regulars’ (sidenote: I’m officially a «regular» someplace, wooooo!)
Did I mention they feature $ 2 pints every day of the week? So cool.

What is there to not like? The crowd is mostly local but meh the food is what matters!!! I came all the way from the midway area, you’re talking about from one airport to another. lmao… First and foremost you have to try the cheese fries… let me tell you I did not know what heaven felt like until i tried the «best damn cheese fries» /​and that’s actually what they’re called ok. Armando the chef let me tell you he’s legendary here he has a passion for what he does, he’s in the front helping I mean the guy is like an octopus, eight hands helping out in any way he can… as for the cheese fries they’re sooooooooo good Armando brought us a second plate.

Great bar. I love trivia nights, and the food is phenomenal. I recommend getting the nacho cheese on the waffle fries instead of the melted cheese, as is what is standard on their «Best Damn Cheese Fries». The nacho cheese is the best. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is good.

Great place to grab a drink and have an enjoyable night out. They have tremendous food and great atmosphere. One of my favorite local establishments.

Before i start this rant i just have to say i have never EVER left a bad Unilocal review for a restaurant, regardless of how bad the experience was but this place deserves to be called out.
FLAT OUT HORRIBLE!
I’ve lived by this place for almost two years now but never went in. My wife and I decided to try it and I can’t believe I didn’t stay away from it for another 2 years! We decided to order their ‘ultimate nachos.’ I’m guessing they never looked in a dictionary because the word they were looking for was ‘TERRIBLE nachos’… Chips and cheese were soupy and the ground meat was just bad. Everything else was on the side which is pointless because if I wanted something on the side I would have asked for it that way.
Secondly and most importantly, The Wait! I have no problem waiting for my food, at all. Especially when its full and business is booming. HOWEVER THIS PLACE WAS EMPTY AT THE TIME!!! there was maybe ten ppl total in the place at the time we sat down. so when i sit down order my food wait around and then see two couples come in after me and order burger and fries and get it before I receive my wings i get a little upset. I ordered my food at approximately 625pm and at approximately 718 I still get told ‘it’s on the way’ that’s where I draw the line. I won’t write a review about how the wings tasted because I didn’t stick around to eat them. I told them it was ridiculous and just closed out on my ‘Horrible Nachos’ and few drinks.
I’ve never been so disappointed in an establishment and I have to let the Unilocal world know.
Please don’t waste your time or money on this place. I wish I didn’t have to leave a star rating at all because even 1 is too much for them.

I give this bar 3 stars because the place is great the service is… ok. and the djs are good except for one dj that seriously make me wonder why he even got hired to play there. The people that come here aren’t really my crowd but the bar itself is great

This place was a great find.
My girlfriend and I were working out in Melrose Park pretty late. We got hungry and I was really craving a chicken salad, so we googled a few places nearby and found this one!
We just so happen to go on the day they had monster salad on special. Our waitress was friendly and great! The salads were so filling and the drinks were very tasty.
I would definitely be going again when I’m in be area.

For those of you who know me you’ll say that I’m picky about things. Well we had a baby shower for one of our daughters yesterday at the Underpass and it was GREAT!!! They did a great job in every possible area.
The food The service The atmosphere The attention to detail The people all at a FAIR price.
Don’t hesitate to book your party here or just stop in for a beer, you won’t be disappointed.

$.50 Wings, how can you beat that? Friendly staff, plenty of food & drink specials. if you haven’t been here, I recommend it, if you haven’t been here in awhile then it’s time you hightailed it back. Don’t bother getting your wings anywhere else in town, these are the best. Dine in or take out, might as well get an order of pizza bread while you’re at it.

Been awhile since I reviewed this place, and just wanted everyone to know, nothing has changed… Love this place!
$ 1 Taco Tuesdays and food/​drink specials every day! Awesome Waffle fries and jalapeño poppers!
They just added Video Gaming and in the next month or so are opening a Sandwich Shop next door!

This place is a awesome place to have a party I have had 2 there the staff was over accommodating to my party needs they where on top of my party needs IE drinks food cake anything we needed was there before I could ask the owner Dave was personally assisting the party and over seeing the staff I thought that was cool of him great EVERYTHING and the price was very reasonable

$ 1 tacos on Tuesdays, half priced burgers before 7pm. Drink specials almost always and service has gotten a lot better. Perfect area bar to grab a meal and a drink!

Ice cold beer and an excellent slab of ribs today!

$ 4 for a vodka martini? Are you kidding me? How awesome is that. Drinks are good, people are nice.
Too bad I don’t work in the area any more. Unless there’s a get together or a party that I need to attend, other than that, I don’t see myself going out of my way to get to this joint.
One negative; there was a funky odor that lingered. Not sure what it was.
