The staff are super nice. But I wouldn’t call this much of a «tour». It’s 2 or 3 rooms. The guy giving the tour was nice, but you could just look and read around the room and get the idea. We got one sample. Not worth40 mins and $ 3. The other people on the tour with us left half way through!

Well, this is an absolute must-visit in Frankfort! I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. The BEST Bourbon balls on the planet… really. This is always our first stop when we are in town. This candy is addictive, and they lure you in with free samples. Buy the Boo Boos — half the price because they weren’t «pretty» enough. Not cheap, but worth every dime… and calorie.

Be aware that the young lady at the front is rude and do her best to ruin your experience at the candy shop! Rob is awesome and does a great job with the tour and questions you may have! The candy is amazing, and I would deal with Rob if you go! Otherwise you will regret you went!

We stopped on for the tour while we were killing time on Frankfort and I’m so glad we did!!! Such a cute shop and very interesting facts on the tour. Reminded me if I Love Lucy episode, they even had the Barbies throughout the factory haha. The candy is delicious! I’m glad we got the big box to take with us! It is a bit expensive but it’s an old place still doing things small so makes sense to me that it would be. Next time we hope to get there early to see things actually being made though but I’d go back again.

Whenever I’m in Frankfort I make it a point to stop at Rebecca Ruth’s for a cup of coffee, but more importantly a bunch of candy. Their sweets are second to none. That alone would make this place a 4 star, but when you top it off with fantastic service from genuinely nice people, they jump to a 5 star. Stop in, say hi to the nice ladies, get ya some candy.

I agree with the other reviewers as far as the size of the store(very small), but I didn’t take the tour. We were just there to purchase candy as gifts. The woman behind counter was very helpful. The candy was delicious and I am not a fan of chocolate creams, so for me to like it, that’s really saying something. The store & even restrooms were very clean. The counter person offered to wrap our purchases which was appreciated. We recommend a visit for the hospitality & delicious bourbon balls!

We visited in June and I forgot to post my review. The tour wasn’t much to see, a few old items in some small room and people making a «secret» recipe so we couldn’t take pictures. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour, so it was nice to get some extra history about the times and the ladies who started the candy. The staff was super friendly and the chocolates were delicious. I have to say though, the candy is a wee bit overpriced… also, we did try the original recipe but I really prefer the Buffalo Trace ones… just my opinion. We purchased the variety box of alcohol laced chocolates and are seriously thinking of getting those as Christmas gifts, though. :)

Cute store and of course great candy. The tour is really no big deal. A few small rooms and a large conveyor belt.

Staff is nice, but wouldn’t give a tour between 12 – 1, and naturally, I happened to show up at noon. She let me peak into the room, and it’s just a few old timey stoves, measuring cups, etc. Has bathroom facilities. It was well lit, but this is kind of a country store, so don’t expect anything real fancy. It’s a cute place, and their chocolate is very good.

Friendly staff and an interesting tour. Historic piece of Frankfort that locals should visit at least once and tourists would get a kick out of.

Tracy has it spot on, and I’d agree with her 4⁄2 rating system. The factory is much smaller than expected for turning out 3 million pieces a year, but you wouldn’t know it when the line is shut down. We arrived at noonish and it was pretty quiet. The staff is quite friendly and helpful and everything we tried was delicious, on the plus side.

Just in case in math teachers out there want me to show my work: (4 stars for the shop and staff + 2 stars for the tour) /2 = 3 star review It’s a cute little shop with a super nice staff. Not as big or nice as the shop on Versailles, but it does have more history. The tour costs $ 2 if you are older than 5.($ 1 if you have a Frankfort Trolley Stamp.) I had visions of chocolates zig-zagging through the place and cheerful folks in hairnets smiling brightly. In reality, the candy is made early in the morning, so wake up early and call first if you’d like to see the place in action. It was pretty dead by 11:30AM. There was some interesting back story and cool antique equipment. It’s clear that Ruth Hanly Booe was a spunky and determined woman. Not very interesting for kids though. I guess you can’t expect much for $ 2. We did get to try any piece of candy we wanted at the end of the tour. So we had that goin’ for us.
