Living in the Somerville area for the past decade or so, I’ve come to expect high quality Brazilian BBQ, cheap… quick and delicious, not necessarily in that order. This restaurant would be an utter failure in New Brazilville. I walked in mid afternoon and it was fairly dead, that’s fine since lunch rush was over but I don’t think there was a single customer inside when I walked in. I quickly grabbed my styrofoam container, B-lined for the buffet and began filling my dish up with rice/beans/plantains. Then I headed over to the BBQ area… You’ve got to be kidding me, they don’t offer up grilled pineapple? Are you people even Brazilian!?! Bah, this put me in a bad mood. To top it off, the BBQ expert didn’t speak a word of english so we were relaying what was being said between an interpreter who was enjoying his lunch at the time. Satisfied with my mound of chicken hearts, steak and a beef rib I proceeded back over to the main counter $ 8.99/ pound for buffet takeout? I have paid as low as $ 5.99 for TOP quality buffets closer to the city so this was downright preposterous. I should have checked on the price prior to grabbing the goods but I still don’t think I would have turned around when being told the price. $ 10 for 1.2 lbs of food was the tally, this better be worth it. The beef rib? Should have come off the spit an hour beforehand, tough as nails. The chicken hearts, also overcooked. The steak was cooked perfectly(medium rare) but it still seemed a tad try. I didn’t come away wowed by a single meat. And then the sides, the rice was probably sitting out too long as well, it was dry and needed to be smothered in beans. The plantains were delicious. I’m not sure I’ll return, there wasn’t anything redeeming about the place. A part of me wants to give them another shot but I don’t know why I should, next time I think I’ll venture into Framingham Center when I’m interested in getting my next fill of Brazilian when in the western ‘burbs.

I was excited to come here and try the all you can eat buffet. There are plenty of sides/salads to choose from. Everything was tasty from the salad buffet bar. Ok now with the meats, the guy kept coming out with one meat after the next(i almost felt like asking him to stop) ha-ha what a great concept but I was disappointed. Some items were just so salty! I would have enjoyed the food much more with less salt PROS: You definitely will not leave here hungry that’s for sure but if it weren’t for my groupon I probably wouldn’t have came. $ 25 is a steep price to pay. I guess if you eat a lot it’s worth it but I wont be in a hurry to come back.

Dear Jesus. I am seriously right now still cramping from the meal we ate there last evening. My husband took the kids to the bathroom to wash hands and was rushing out to tell me to ‘abandon ship’ because the bathroom had no soap(eek) but was too late as we had already served ourselves from the buffet.(Keep in mind, this is the bathroom employees use.) To be fair, the food was ok and the staff was so warm and welcoming. It should have been a good experience. BUT… the place is so incredibly dirty. The rug is repulsively dirty(I only noticed once we were eating) and THEFLIES — buzzing all over the buffet and dining room. The place looks like it needs to be bleached from top to bottom. Makes me fear what’s going on in kitchen. I have lived in many countries(including Brazil) and am very tolerant of a wide range of dining experiences. I RARELY get an upset stomach from food. Let’s just say that I’ve visited the bathroom more times than usual today. It’s possible I got the ____from another source, but I’m guessing it was from our churrasco last night.

Visited Oliveira’s again last week to finally cash in our groupon. Instead of lunch, we attended dinner, which had a much better variety. Juice as always was awesome, and they also brought out cinnamon rubbed pineapple, which formally was an item I thought they overlooked. I seriously don’t remember being so stuffed. Just a little bit of constructive criticism, unlike our last visit, I felt the servers weren’t as aggressive on the drinks orders this time around. When you’re stuffing your gob with delicious meat, you tend to get a bit parched.

EEEKKK! Just came back from eating what we thought was the safest(very little, taking a risk) at this restaurant with my family(we were shocked!) Disgusting, dirty, smelly, horrible service. I wonder how they manage to remain open and operating under the health risk conditions that they are exposing customers to. Very poor food selection, non appetizing, food in disarray, there is no supervision of the buffet. There was trash piled near the desert counter/refrigerator and the rug, tables, chairs and kids high chairs are beyond grungy, caked with dirt. We asked for ketchup for one of our kids, who happens to be autistic and it turned into a chaos because what they brought for him was HOTSAUCE!!! and no excuse or apology for the mistake. I know it sounds hard, but In my opinion the Board of Health should be taking a look at this place. Never again will this family visit this place. We are ashamed to ourselves to have taken the risk we took and expose our family to get really sick. There is no exaggeration, it is that bad.

I came here with my family using the groupon. Pretty unsatisfactory experience. The actual food was decent, albeit a bit salty. Unfortunately, the service was so dismally bad I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. Our server did not take our drink order until about 5 minutes after we were seated and we did not receive our drinks until well into our meal(I was about ½ done with my plate before any water came). After that our server did not come by the table more than once. It was not busy either, one of the chefs was busy flirting with a woman at the table next to us and I could see our server chatting it up with another server behind the bar while I went up to get more food. Regarding the food, do not expect any real variety. We only received one cut of beef(overcooked sirloin — they refused to give us just the inner portions), two types of sausage which we did not want but was deposited on our plate regardless, and some chicken wings which were decent. Overall, pretty bad experience.

Went to this phenom place last night. Awesome! If you like to eat perfectly cooked meat, super fresh salads, and real Brazilian cusine… this is the place to go. I have been twice with my Brazilian girl friend and she says it is a close to real Brazilian BBQ as you will find. The buffet, to start, is simple but spectacular, everything fresh, and the staff pays great attention to keeping it looking great and well stocked. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more down-to-earth. For that matter even the patrons smile and welcome you when you are there. The chef comes to your table with perfectly cooked beef, chicken, sausage, lamb, bacon wrapped chicken, garlic bread on skewers and slices pieces for you to chow on. I can not adequately describe the flavors of each skewer other then I will be back as a weekly regular. The only issue is no wine or beer and I didn’t think to ask about bringing your own… I get the feeling you probably could but might want to ask first. This place I predict is going to take off… SOGETWHILETHEGETTINISGOOD!!! One other suggestion get some take out here as well… perfect for entertaining and checking out your favorite sporting event, while eating fantastic BBQ meats. The price is right and trust me you will not be disappointed… if you are a foodie add this place to your list. Its real, unpretentious and amazing taste.

The selection of meats were fantastic. They tasted great. There was pork, chicken, Chicken hearts, steak, sausage, and lots more. The restaurant seemed a little disorganized, but everyone was working and trying their best. I will definitely be going back.
