I have been using D&D Mulch for 20 years at three different houses for my mulch deliveries. Over the years, I have referred several friends to D&D. My next mulch delivery will NOT be from D&D. I called and left messages two days in a row to place an order and no one called me back. I understand it’s a busy time of year for this type of business. I finally called a third time and reached Scott — I believe at the Wellesley location. He was impatient and rude, and snapped at me that they were very busy when I mentioned I had called twice. I asked him the difference between the pine and black forest mulches and he sighed and said they were both pine! I had to ask twice and he seemed annoyed to have to explain. Never again will I pay a company to subject myself to that kind of treatment. After all, there are other mulch companies out there — some might even have recognized that I had been a longstanding loyal customer.

I’m writing a bad review on this particular D&D yard because I got an attitude from the yard manager right when I pulled in to drop off a pickup truck load of brush. He yelled at me for blocking the entrance which I was not. He said«can’t you read the sign?» I could have read it if I saw it. Never saw it before either. Must have been covered up that day. I was clearly well inside the gate and off to the side with plenty of room for any large truck to get by and there was no where else available to stop. I had to stop to let him see the load which would have taken a second if the guy wasn’t so concerned about showing who is boss. To make matters worse, after I dumped, he charged me twice what I used to pay for the same size load. I questioned this and he tried to tell me that I never paid that much for that load size. Ya, ok. There was nothing to gain by arguing and I wasn’t about to put the stuff back in my truck so I just paid it and left. Needless to say I won’t be dropping off leaves or brush here any more. Not all yards are the same, the guy who runs Natick is great. I also want to say that unless you have a regular account with them, D&D’s prices on mulch and loam are extreme. I was quoted $ 35 for a yard of composted screened loam which is the same loam that originates at Cavicchio’s who sells it for $ 18.
