Great prices, decent burgers and malts/floats. They also have a nice little play area for kids by the picnic tables if you choose to eat outside of your car. My only complaint would be some of the staff. They seem to hire high schoolers, which is totally fine, however some of them seem as if they’d rather be spending their Summer elsewhere and try to rush the whole process.

Their billboard says Wisconsin’s Oldest Carhop if that doesn’t give you a sense of ease. Good place for some good eats. The first time I ate there I had a cheeseburger and fries(nothing special). However, the second time I decided to try the chili cheese dog. My goodness! They have huge dogs with a pile of chilli and cheese to the point where I used a fork to help me keep the dog from falling apart. It was messy for sure but fun to eat. Sadly, they don’t post hours so I only know they close on Wednesdays but sometimes randomly too. Make sure you plan accordingly, if they are closed where you’d want to eat instead. Also be sure to have CASH because that’s all they accept!

If you are looking for a great place to experience some good food and good service along with car-hops and awesome black cows, Mullin’s is the place! I stopped by for a late lunch, grabbing a burger, cheese fries and a Coke. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a double cheeseburger with the works, cheese fries and a coke. When I got my food it was hot and smelled amazing. I was disappointed in the portion size of both the cheese fries and the Coke. Not much you can do about the portion size of fries, but you can order a «to-go» soda in larger sizes, however you’ll miss out on the frosted mug. The burger was a decent size, and had good flavor. Everything was good as expected and enjoyed being able to eat in my vehicle listening to some tunes with the windows rolled down. I’ll just have to remember to order two orders of cheese fries.

Doesn’t deserve even 1 star.(We’ve been here many times with no problems). Today we got a chocolate shake and a vanilla malt to go. It was so horrible, how do you screw those up? I assume it was a new person. They both had almost no taste, were very liquidy, and salty. It was all milk with a little ice cream. The server was very nice, but it was a waste of $ 11. We threw them away, that’s how bad they were. I hope the owner reads this. If this was my place I’d want to know what’s going on.

I don’t know where the other reviewers were at but when I stopped, I had a long wait for two cheeseburgers and one fry, sloppy made burgers and everything was barely warm. Because of the wait, I thought it would be fresh and hot. On the good side, it is very clean and prices are good.

Grew up in Fox Lake, friends worked here during the summer… lots of fond memories. The food is fun and the black cows are fabulous.

This is a must-do stop for us at least once or twice every summer. The burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. are good but the root beer floats and black cows are FANTASTIC! A nicely run drive-in in a small town with friendly staff.

Want a fun, summer-time, old-school drive in meal? Mullin’s it is! Simple, but good food, carhops, and picnic tables make this a fun stop if you’re in the area. I ordered a cheeseburger with cheese fries, and a mug of rootbeer. Positives: –Hard to beat an old-school style drive in restaurant… –Awesome rootbeer served in a mug. –Cheap Negatives: –Only open in the summer season –Right next to the main street in town, so it can be fairly loud from traffic –Bring cash! They do not accept credit cards. It’s certainly nothing fancy, just a fun place to go during the summer months. According to the locals, Mullin’s has been a standard for many, many years, and will be for many more.

Rite of summer passage: a not-too-greasy«moose» burger at this drive-in the booming metropolis of Fox Lake. Zippy service, no-frills burgers, and shakes.

Been stopping here for as long as I can remember. Not so much in recent years but from about age 8 to 18 we were here every Friday in the summer on the way up north camping. I still occassionally take a motorcycle ride up to Fox Lake for the sole purpose of a Black Cow and a Moose Burger. Went last summer and it was still as good as ever. Friendly staff, quick service, and tasty drive-in fare make Mullin’s a must stop for anyone travelling in that general direction.

Absolutely delicious. It’s everything a drive-in should be. If you happen to find yourself in the area on a nice summer day, do yourself a favor and stop here.

Every year, every summer, for as long as I have been alive, my family stops in and grabs some ice cream(and occasionally food) from this neat little drive-in. And every time I’m in this town, I make sure not to forget to stop here. The ice cream is rich and delicious; when I consume it, I KNOW it’s from Mullin’s — it has a distinctive taste. The food is also great. The fries are always perfect(crinkly fries!), the burgers are delicious, etc. The place is usually packed. You can eat outside at the picnic tables, in your cars, or get the food to go. It’s also rare to see carhops these days…

A little slice of drive-in heaven. Either stay in your car or grab a picnic table but keep you heart meds handy. Mullin’s serves up a tasty and satisfying burger with no frills. Order a shake to wash it all down and bask in the glory that is Summer. Madison would be so lucky to have this place downtown.
