We share the same bad experience as other reviewers, plus some more. The doctor only spent less than 10 minutes with the patient for pre-​op checkup and said nothing about the surgery. A pamphlet was given and was told to go home and read it. Afterwards, the doctor would not return any phone calls even after we pleaded with their staff. Finally, we decided to cancel the surgery and start looking for other ophthalmologist.

I brought my 4 yr old daughter to the office as a new patient. I was told on the phone by whoever made my appointment that they see kids. We had been seeing a doctor in Orange, but I wanted to see someone locally. When we arrived to this office, the front desk lady was very nice and professional. We were called back and seen by a tech first who did different tests on my daughter but they were not kid friendly tests, and took a long time and it was difficult for the tech I could tell to do these tests on a child. Immediately, I realized this office is NOT familiar with seeing kids. In hindsight I should have left. After a hour and a half of doing vision tests and waiting for the dilation of my daughter’s eyes etc, we finally see the doctor. So Dr. Lin, she examined my daughter’s vision, as she was asking my daughter what letters does she see on the screen, and at the same time Dr. Lin was checking her message on her apple watch, then she stared at my daughter and said «wow so young,» then stated my daughter’s vision is not improving and needs to be patched, and gave her opinion that the glasses my daughter has been wearing for only 4 months is not working and she should have been patched, and this is something I have to adjust to and be patient about, and that it’s harder for us parents then kids. I told her I have no problem with the patch, it’s just I didn’t expect so soon of starting a prescription eye glass, that patching is needed. Then I asked how the patching works, she asked me what’s my daughter’s school schedule like, I told her my daughter is in school full time 9 – 5 mon-​fri, she says «wow you put your daughter in school that long.» I replied what am I suppose to do I work full time. That’s unprofessional, and frankly none of her business. So in summary, this doctor was unprofessional, bedside manner NOT GOOD. At the end she told me to go back to the doctor my daughter was originally seeing. I wish this office was honest about not seeing pediatrics, because I wouldn’t have wasted 1 hr 45 min of my time. Also, I am a healthcare provider and I was insulted and shocked by the way I was treated. If I said I was in healthcare would I have been treated differently? Who knows. I will definitely not be returning back.

I had a bad eye infection and made the mistake of not checking Unilocal reviews on this place. The assistants seemed to like probing my infected eyes without gloves on and simply placed tools that they just used on me, right back in the drawer and cupboards. That stood out to me and should have been my red flag but I was in a lot of discomfort.
Dr. Lin was nice and seemed to be very knowledgeable about her profession. She removed my scarring and pulled out an amniotic lens cover. She even told me that it was really expensive and I asked how much, but she never answered me and very promptly put it over my eye.
I made it very clear to her on my first visit that I had a very high insurance deductible and so I was very sensitive on the costs
Weeks later, I got the bill. That lens cover costs $ 3,377.00!!!
I wasn’t given an option. I wasn’t told that maybe there was a cheaper way to get the same result. Maybe with some extra diligence on my end, if I could have kept it very clean that I could have achieved the same result.
But NO. It was just put in over my eye.
When you go to the dentist, do they just start putting really expensive crap in your mouth without telling you how much it is going to cost you? Heck no.
When you go to the mechanic, do they start putting stuff in without consulting with you on the costs? If so, you need to go elsewhere which is the whole point of this review.

DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give a zero I would have! Staff has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills at all! Fist time customer and I sat there for one hour with not one update! Then a customer who had an appointment scheduled after mine was put in front of me because she had a HAIR APPOINTMENT ! Seriously?
Back office staff was young so one would kind of expect it but the front office women was old and should have acquired better skills by now! So sad… really!
Waited another 20 min in room and then had enough! I walked out! Never was asked by the uneducated front office women if everything was ok! Please look at the reviews that are current! All the old reviews are years old and seem to be good! Something has changed in these last two years and I think the common denominator is Dr. Lin! If the staff acts they do not care I can only guess how the Dr’s skills might be !
That is the real reason I walked out! Sorry my eyes are way too close to my brain … SCARY!
Find a good eye doctor I know I am!

I had the same experience as LaiLai.
I had my eyes checked by Dr. Vicki. Even though we waited about 40 minutes to be called back, I was okay with it since the place was big, beautiful and she was friendly. We felt we had found an excellent Doctor. I had an ophthalmology exam and vision test done. I was given a prescription for glasses but found none that I liked in their office but did so at Target Optical. I took Dr. Vicki’s suggestion and ordered the progressive lenses. Once on, I could not see without getting dizzy or feeling cross-​eyed. So, Target remade them with just one vision prescription and I still could not see right. Finally, it dawned on me that the prescription was wrong.
I called the office twice to have the vision exam re-​done and they said they would talk with Dr. Vicki and get back to me because I didn’t purchase my glasses with them so they would have to get her approval for a vision re-​check. I got no return phone call over a period of 2 weeks. I then called consecutively 3 days in a row and each time I was extremely nice just reminding them not to forget me. Finally, I received a call back from a very snippy office employee who told me not to call back again as the Doctor has received my message and she will return my call when she has time. I NEVER received a phone call from the Doctor.
I had my vision checked by a different Doctor. Guess what? My vision test numbers were the same but instead of negatives they were positives and the positives were negatives.
To have a eye Doctor not return a phone call or back up her exam with a re-​check when something is wrong is totally BS. I felt she took my money and said «bye bye sucker» when I asked for a prescription to purchase my glasses someplace else.

Do not come here for an eye exam. My husband and I have been customers for years. We liked them in the beginnning but it seems that the quality of the staff and the bussiness has gone down over the years. First of all, when we made the appointment the staff told us a certain price in order to get the prescription, but when it was time to pay it had changed and became much more expensive. We didnt say anything just paid it. And then the doctor made a mistake giving my husband a different prescription for contacts from previous years without giving any trials, but we trusted the doctor and ordered one year supply from online. It ended up to be the wrong prescription and he had to go back to get a new one. And this time we got a trial and it worked. But by that time, it was too late to return the contacts we ordered. We went to the doctor office to see if they would exchange ours for some correct contacts since it was their mistake, but the staff was very rude to us and would not admit the mistakes. We asked to see the doctor, but the staff lied to us and said the doctor was not there. We knew she was there but she wouldn’t come out to explain to us and try to resolve our problem. We just wanted the courtesy to be treated right and at least an apology. We left a phone number and ask the doctor to give us a call back. And nothing from her. We will not go back to the office ever again and they have lost our bussiness and respect.

Great staff. Friendly Doctor.
Dr. Lin is young but very knowledgable. She is very patient and she will answer all your vision concerns. She is very thorough with the eye exam process. The office is clean, bright, and open. I would recommend her to my friends and family for their vision care needs.

I talked to over 20 Doctors including a high-​end Beverly Hills Doctor who said I needed surgery in both eyes for a total cost of over $ 10,000.00
I went to Dr. Lin and she explained the options and suggested I get a contact lens instead. After about 3 months, my vision improved by 12 lines. That’s crazy good and no surgery required in both eyes.

I first came to DR Vicki Lin when my cornea had ruptured. She did a cornea transplant on me and when it failed she knew it wasn’t going to ever take. I hear many patients say they are on their third or fourth cornea. Because she knew it wasn’t going ever work for me she got me an appointment at UCLA with a cornea specialist who put an artificial cornea in. YAH it works and I’m a HUGE fan of DR Vicki Lin and the Isight Vision Care of Fountain Valley She also has a wonderful caring staff. Wendy Wahl

I have very sensitive eyes so I thought it was going to be a nightmare to have anyone touching them. But Dr. Lin and the employees there were awesome. She was able to diagnose me and made me feel comfortable even though I was being difficult.
