Worst service today ever. Worst food ever today. Usually better to be honest. The prime rib looked like it had been sitting in the window for an hour. Which is how long we pretty much waited(felt like it) btw. Server was terrible. He literally never made eye contact and would just walk by. Over and over again. Getting attention was yelling him over every time. Unacceptable. Never checked how food was. It would behoove you to make eye contact with your table for sh*t sake… WARNINGWOMEN: Do NOT go into the bathroom. I repeat do not go in the bathroom.

Really slow service. Appetizer(fried zucchini) took forever, then, arrived less than hot… And the cold cucumber dip was warm, obviously had been sitting under the lamp for quite a while. Our entrees arrived immediately after. Prime rib not great, has been much better in the past. The baked potato and asparagus were very good. The wife had the rib eye and asked for a side of Bernaise sauce, absolutely horrid sauce. Passed on the«free» dessert that comes with the Campfire deal, wasn’t willing to wait another 20 minutes for a mediocre mud pie. Took too long to get the check. Pretty bad all around, wasn’t very busy, I’m guessing they were under staffed. Probably be a while before I come back and I live less than a mile away. So glad I had a coupon, I would have been really pissed if I was paying full price.

We had stayed away from Black Angus for over a year because of a disastrous dinner there, although honestly we had good luck up to that point. But, armed with a coupon for a two-person«Campfire Feast,» we decided to give it another chance. So we showed up about 4:00PM and sat at a booth in the bar area since the sun was due to set and the booths in back seemed a bit gloomy in memory. Our server was Cierra, who was staffing the whole bar area by herself. Busy as she was(and more so as the bar customers started to drift in) she remained cheerful and personable throughout, got everything right the first time and was very helpful. Thanks Cierra! So here’s what we had, in some detail because it’s worth writing about. — As an appetizer, grilled artichoke to split— three artichoke halves, served with two types of aoli, both quite good. The internal thistles were removed but the bases were intact and ready to eat. Messy but very good, a treat. — My wife had a wedge salad and I had garden salad. Both were fresh and crisp and quite large. Each could have been a light lunch by itself. — I had the six-ounce filet mignon($ 3 premium plus béarnaise butter, another buck). Fabulous. Not huge but thick, nicely charred on the outside and just the right pink on the inside. Tender, juicy, and an excellent taste, as good a filet as I’ve had in a long time. — My wife had the eight-ounce prime rib, again prepared just right with decent marbling. Served with au jus sauce as well as both a mild horseradish sauce and a second cup of stronger ground horseradish, good for mixing in. She added the mushroom and onion topping($ 2.49) which she liked. I had some and it tasted very good. — As our second sides, my wife had Western wild rice, which she said was good. I has the au gratin potatoes which were, again, fabulous. Nicely baked and crusted with a great cheesy taste. — Finally, a dessert to split. We ordered the white chocolate bread pudding, but without the ice cream because we were both stuffed and had to take it home. They packed the caramel sauce separately, which was nice. At this point I can only say it looks good. It will certainly be eaten tomorrow.(Added: It was, in part. Most excellent. I’ll skip my blood sugar measurements for a couple of days.) So all this was $ 42 using the coupon that seems always available in the Internet, plus $ 6.49 in optional extras. Add ten bucks for a couple of decent margaritas, tax and tip, and there you are. Total damage was about $ 73, a great bargain for a very nice(and very large) supper for two where everything was outstanding or very close to it. Great job, Cierra and Black Angus, and all is forgiven! Easy five stars for a tremendously enjoyable dinner and a real value.

Let’s say that they didn’t really visit our table very much and when they did they weren’t very attentive. I had my water refilled but my table mate had less then I did but they ignored him. The food was cold for nearly everyone and when we sent it back it was just as cold as when we first got it. So to some it up the fold was cold and the service was just as cold if not colder.

I’ve been here with family and friends often. Which is why I am hesitant to write this review because will it even make a difference? Will management even read this? I placed 2 orders of chicken tender to go with 3 sides of honey mustard. I picked up my order and when I got home, mouth watering, ready to eat. I found that the 3 sides of honey mustard were almost empty. they barely covered the bottom of the containers. and the chicken tenders were small and overcooked. They looked like they were left over scraps that were thrown together at the last minute because they were too lazy or impatient to make new ones. I paid $ 22 and I feel hustled and cheated. I drove 25 minutes there and 25 minutes back home only to find out the trip was extremely unsatisfying. I always tip well when I dine in, in fact I tipped $ 50 on New Year’s Eve when I was last there. It sucks to feel this way. Tip to other readers: Don’t order food for pickup at night. but if you do, check it before you leave and call them on their cheap bullshit.

My family and I are long time patrons of Black Angus and usually enjoy our experiences there. Last night we had reservations for 6:00 pm and arrived to find a rather large crowd of people standing outside the front door and a lobby full of even more people waiting inside. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and ill prepared for the number of people. When we checked in we were told that there would be a wait of 15 minutes. We waited over 30 minutes before we were seated. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated in the sports bar area of the restaurant. The noise, tv’s and tight booth made for a very uncomfortable and unpleasant dining experience. The food and service were good but it didn’t offset the poor environment. We will be rethinking going back.

Enjoyed a nice ½ pound Prime rib dinner. You have to order your own sides additional. I have been going for several years now about 20+ But it has been several year since I have been to this one on Brookhurst. Get there for happy hour if you drink and bring your drink and save a few $$. I ordered med Rare but came out Rare as Rare can be. It was quickly replaced and it was perfect. Down side they took out the entertainment and dance floor. Oh well not bad. Enjoyed the game while eating the Prime Rib. Happy Hour is a must but limited on seating in the bar area. They have other tables on the back wall but used them for Dine in. At least that night.

We had a party of 7 and went to Black Angus in Fountain Valley. The ribs were tough as a boot and dry as the desert, I sent them back and after 45 minutes they brought me a hamburger that was full of gristle, another member of our party had sweet potatoes that were raw and crunchy all food was cold. Manager was rude he made it very clear he did not care about our table’s problems, just wanted to leave(there was hardly anyone in there and I can see why). Save yourself some frustration and skip this place.

We had a large group and came in on a Sunday afternoon. It took an especially long time to be seated which makes sense when it’s busy… but it’s empty. We were seated in the bar and were the only people here. There were several employees talking at the bar. We had all of our drink and food orders taken, and though the drinks came out quickly, the food took a very long time. I ordered a coffee which came with two creams. I ordered a baked potato and Brussels sprouts from the sides menu. My baked potato came out with no butter. Just plain. It was not cooked enough and the skin was very tough and dry. The Brussels sprouts were advertised as being cooked in brown butter, but they had an awful chemical taste. My husband joked that the brown part must be paint. I asked for butter for my potato and it took a while to come out as well. My coffee wasn’t refilled at any point. And when I requested a refill it was refilled but I got no creamer with it. This was confusing because I got creamer the first time, so why wouldn’t I need some with a new cup? When I asked for the cream, our waitress seemed inconvenienced. My friend got steak, which was supposed to be medium-rare, but it was pan seared amd about to moo. Also, the toilet seats are all scratched up and there was urine and something brown that didnt look like feces on two of the stall’s seats. It is not busy tonight, what are all the employees doing? I remember really liking Black Angus as a kid, but the last two times I’ve come here have been really disappointing.

Great food the 8 oz prime rib and large lobster tail were more than enough and cooked perfectly. The sirloin kids meal was very good and I was surprised the portion was so large. Our server was truly the best EVER! The whole place is super clean which is a major big deal for me! Great management obviously.

Yum! We have these in Denver but sometimes you have to go somewhere else before you try it where you live. We both got the steak special(rib eye if I remember correctly) that is offered on Wednesdays that comes with a mud pie(or may have been your dessert choice?). Loved the food. Great service. Ambience was comfortable and family oriented. Can’t wait to try one in Denver!

I LOVE their happy hour! Great quality food and options to choose from and great deals on drinks too. We came here last night and happy hour ends at 7pm. Still plenty of time. I sat in the bar area, lots of tvs, and it wasn’t too crowded. Our server was very nice too and on point with her service. We ordered the garlic cheese bread and artichoke spinach dip. The foods came out so hot the cheese was melting off. Thumbs up for that! We also had a coupon for $ 19.99 for steak and lobster… Their lobster could’ve been more hot. It was just warm. That’s my only complaint. Other than that, well be back for the next Happy Hour!

My wife loves this place. My steak was not good but everyone else was really happy. The manager did not charge me, the waitress was awesome and the hostess say us very quickly. 5 stars all the way.

Their happy hour is great! I think it’s 4−7pm. Get the fried zucchini and potato skins. Their ribeye steak is the BEST. Also, take advantage of the coupon campfire deal for 2. You’ll need more than one to go box. I need to be rolled out of the restaurant now.

Wow, I was really impressed by this particular location of Black Angus. Both the food and the service were great, especially for a weeknight. I ordered a center cut filet mignon with caramelized shallot and blue cheese butter. I also had it cooked medium rare. For my sides, I upgraded to the premium sides which were sriracha hash browns and brussel sprouts. The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The blue cheese butter was delicious and melty. The flavors meshed beautifully with the steak. The sriracha hash browns were very very good, and I really enjoyed them dipped in ranch as well. The brussel sprouts were just okay. I wouldn’t order them again, but they weren’t bad either. I just don’t think they were prepared correctly. Some were just very hard. For dessert, I ordered a rocky mountain fudge cake, and it was so delicious and sweet. The fudge had an intense chocolate flavor, and the ice cream made it very decadent. Service was pretty good aside from sometimes waiting a little longer for drink refills, but overall, this was a great experience.

I come here all the time and I’ve never been unsatisfied with the food or service! The ambiance is a bit dark, but that’s not a problem for me! Servers are always nice and honest when you ask for recommendations. I can always count on them to speak the truth about something that’s bad or good! They’re very polite and always ready to compromise! Appetizers come quickly, but meals take a little longer, but worth the wait! Food is always consistently delicious:-) overall, I will always come back!

The 5 stars reflected the last time I was there and the stars must have aligned properly, we had an out of body experience enjoying a feast fit for royalties. They now had happy hour on Sunday so that was really appreciated & bumped their rating from 4.5 to a solid 5. Their best app was the fire roasted artichokes, it tasted a flavorful wood fired BBQ and came with 2 yummy sauces. Their hamburgers were the best on planet earth but the french fries were not good, even after they were replaced with fresh ones, they were never crunchy. Black Angus, I know you can do it, make the fried crunchy! The margaritas were so delicious, I usually had 2, most places used a mix that left a horrible aftertaste but at the Black Angus, it must have been made fresh with lime and agave, it was so refreshing. I had the most expensive item they had on the menu, the giant lobster tail and the rib eye, when I saw the waiter approaching my table w the lobster, I dropped my jaw, it was bright red and just huge. The mouth watering rib eye was melting in my mouth, it was that tender and grilled to perfection. The lobster was so succulent, I’m a lobster lover and most restaurants lobsters were always chewy except here at the Black Angus and Benihana, Benihana lobster was sort of fried on the teppan but here, it was really grilled, it was so succulent, so flavorful, I was in 7th heaven! compliments to the chef! I have been in all the major steakhouses in the US, most are overrated, to me, Black Angus is the only destination for steaks and seafood, we are regulars at this restaurant.

A very nice lunch/diner. Andrea made it special, so nice and very helpful. She checked on us often. The restaurant is all cowboy and has great pictures from the pass. Nicely decorated, good service and very clean. We enjoyed our meal with lots of food to take home. Looks like steak and eggs for breakfast tomorrow. This is going to be our go to steak restaurant. Thanks again Andrea for the great friendly service.

Terrible! One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I was really excited to have a steak which is what they specialize in here however I was very disappointed with the quality of food. The staff were very pleasant but manager and bartender but the food terrible. I visited with a coworker. We ordered the grilled artichoke which was ok it came with two sauces which were flavorless. We ordered a dozen buffalo wings with chipotle barbecue sauce. The wings came RAW and sauce extremely thin and watery. We showed the bar tender and she immediately recognized the chicken wasn’t cooked and requested a new batch of wings. How do you serve raw meat?! I ordered the ribeye, medium, with shrimp and side of broccoli as my entrée. The broccoli was not steamed enough and was still hard, the shrimp was extremely thin and majority of the item was breading. My colleague ate pieces of shell from within the shrimp even though this is something that should be removed! I’m not referring to the shrimp tail I’m referring to the meat of the shrimp still had shell on it. My rib eye, I requested medium, was still MOOing when it arrived. It might have even flinched when i looked at it! It was nearly raw. When I sliced into the meat it was tough, it wasn’t pink, it was dark deep red! Again I reluctantly showed this to the bartender and she said«Oh Lord that’s not medium that’s not even cooked»… and once again I had to send another item back to the kitchen. At this point the buffalo wings arrived, for which I no longer had an appetite for and five minutes later my ribeye arrived which was no longer medium but was to well done! I have high hopes for a good steak which is what they promised and I was extremely let down. The steak also with half and half me I left the place disappointed and hungry. Front staff were polite and helpful but the cooks don’t know what the hell they are doing. I will never return and don’t recommend this place!

Service sucks in the bar area. After our waitress got us some water for the 5 of us and never checked on us again. After 30 minutes of waiting, i went up to her and asked if we can order some foods. She said ok sure. We still haven’t seen her after another 20 min of waiting. WTF. We were really nice and patiently waiting. We didn’t do anything wrong. I told the manager what happened and asked him to move us to the non bar area and finally got served right away by another nice waitress. Imagine if I didn’t go up to the manager and asked to be moved. .I don’t know how much longer my friends and I ended up waiting. Foods were decent. Lobster tail: decent Spinach artichoke dipped: creamy but good Shrimp cocktail: decent Blackberry tea with alcohol: delishhhhhh
