We lived in Beachcomber for about 22 months. We loved the location. Our apartment was facing the bay and we had lovely views. The apartment itself is good size for a 1 bed, much better than most apartments in Foster City. Our unit was renovated and new. We had a great stay. Manager Marla and the maintenance team were awesome and very friendly. Cons — The GYM and exterior building could use some updates and there is only minimum sound proofing. Would recommend this for the location and the living space!!!

The four stars is mainly for the manager Marla who is awesome. I came there at a very tough time in my life and she made everything so much easier for me– priceless! The staff is there every day to clean and the maintenance requests are done quickly. I do think they try to keep too much of the deposit and a lot of the décor is outdated(doors, lighting, rugs– even the managers office is tiny and claustrophobic compared to some of the other complexes around) including the one I now live in. I’m only saying this because of the amount of rent they charge they should put more money into the facilities and décor. Compared to other places it is very outdated, but my friend who still lives there said that they are remodeling a lot of the units and they are much nicer now. The patios are really big which was IMPT to me for BBQ-ing. The location is great and it’s very dog/cat friendly.

Management does a terrible job of maintaining the cleanliness and the physical integrity of the building, the grounds, and the individual units. It’s all about money for them. They take a long time to respond to repair requests and will do everything they can to keep your deposit even though the unit’s condition was substandard upon move in. It is supposed to be a security building but the side door lock is permanently broken and the front door lock is frequently broken. The view and location is great but the apartment building itself is not worth the high rent. Terrible experience.

I stayed in Beachcomber for about 20-months. The location is great — just across the street is the Bay trail. They offer one covered parking lot for single bedroom apartments. Other uncovered parking is limited and usually occupied by other residence with more vehicles than their allocated covered lot. At the front of the apartment there are street parking so it’s not a big deal if you have guests over. There’s a pool and a putting green(artificial grass) that I don’t see anybody using. This place is pet-friendly with a deposit and you can let your pet run free in yard area where the putting green is. So far I have been pretty satisfied. My neighbor upstairs and at the sides are quiet most of the time. The staff here is ok — never really interact with them except to pay my rent and report a problem with my sliding glass door. The service was prompt. The office will call you and leave messages if they needed something. Once you sign a lease the rent sticks for that period and it’s reviewed annually from the date that you move in. Turn over of the tenants are not high. I saw only 3 – 4 moved out since I got here. If you like easy access to the trail, this would be the place to stay. When I look around for an apartment I went to another one next to Beachcomber. The single bedroom floor plan is smaller than this and layout is weird.
