Brought my mother here with my infant after a visit at the hospital near by. Service was horrible! Got the special of the day which was chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Gagged about half of it down since I was so hungry. In their defense I probably should have got a sandwich. Nevertheless I will never be back to try.

I work up the street and saw this place had really good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. So glad I did. Got the Uncle Al’s Reuben with fries. Really good food fresh, hot and tasty… So glad I work close and can come by and get a good sandwich that’s close to work and a good price. Staff were really nice and one was telling a story about a gypsy. LOL. New place to come for lunch.

As a Chicago native, I was so excited by the Vienna sign when I passed this place on accident. I went in at 11:45, no other customers were there, and the first thing I was told is «hold on, we’ll be right with you». I guess they were still getting ready for lunch. So I looked around the store, no one ever asked me anything, I looked back at the guy behind the counter and he caught my eye and just raised his eyebrows like“what do you want” and I just said I’ll have a hotdog. I ordered a Vienna Beef Hotdog and fries. When the hotdog was being assembled I noticed it looked kinda greyish(like a hotdog that was in the water too long), but I brushed it off, believing, that as they just opened, it had to be fresh and look at all of the accolades they have posted. Well I got my food and left. I ended up with a flavorless lukewarm vienna hotdog– all the flavor had leached out– it was probably left over from the day before. The bun was cold,(they are supposed to be steamed) and combined with the traditionally cold toppings I now had a cold hotdog and similarly not so fresh fries. Thank goodness I know of other places in the DFW area that actually know how to make Chicago favorites the right way — this is not one I will recommend or visit again. I guess the other food items must be what they are famous for. i feel that If you’re not going to do Chicago food the right way, just don’t do it at all.

Love this place! Eat there at least once a month. Love the family feel and the owner is often there and super nice. And the food is great!

I ate here just about an hour ago and the food was actually pretty good. However, the customer service was terrible. I sat at a table with a wobbly chair. The tables are quite cheap. The leg/base on the tables had just been put together poorly. At the bottom of the table are four little feet that adjust to screw into the base of the table so it can be level. All four of the feet were just placed into the bottom of the table and not threaded in at all. When I got up to get a refill on my drink one of the legs fell out of the table bas and it tipped over and Spilled Coca-Cola all over my phone(Note5) and my shoes. It made quite a mess. I looked around and the people behind the counter were extremely slow coming to clean up any kind of mess. One of the guys called the manager from the back who came and looked around and asked what happened. I explained to him that the table was very wobbly and the chair was extremely wobbly. He looked at me and said«well we don’t need any fat guy sitting in this chair». I asked him what he was implying and he bbacktra ked and stuttered and said«I’m talking about me». In essence he essentially said I was a fat guy in his restaurant sitting in a wobbly chair. The chairs are cheap. The tables are not put together correctly and if you’re a few pounds overweight you might get call a «fat person» while eating in this restaurant. The manager started to put the feet back under the table without threading them into the base. I suggested to him«you might want to thread that foot into the base at least a few threads so the foot doesn’t come out again». He proceeded to pop the foot underneath the base of the table again without threading it in at all so the next person that comes in and sits at that table will probably experience the same thing with their whole meal being spilled. All in all this place is overall awful I give it a terrible rating. Rude owners and managers inconsiderate of their customers. Too cheap to buy a table and chair set that doesn’t fall apart. About 50% of the tables in the joint are okay but the other 50% are cheap garbage. Also, this place is only open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. I’d give this place a 0 out of 5 Stars if it were available. Don’t waste your time in here and patronize rude people and rude business owners. Go somewhere else, save your money or spend it wisely at another establishment where people don’t call their customers fat when it is their equipment that failed. I’m 5 feet 10 inches tall and I weigh 220 pounds I hardly consider myself a «fat guy» but regardleas its pretty rude for them to address their customers like this. BADPLACE

We used Z’s Café as the caterer for our daughter’s wedding reception. Carlo’s staff arrived promptly and was very professional. They also had no problem accommodating a 30 minute delay because some of our guests were stuck in traffic. We had many compliments from our guests on the food and your staff did a great job. Thanks for a great night!

We had z’s café cater our wedding this past Friday. Carlo, the owner, was very receptive throughout the entire wedding process and was very flexible to move everything inside when a storm came in. The food was delicious, the catering staff did everything they needed to, and cleaned constantly! They were just what we needed and would hire them again!

We booked Z’s Café for our wedding catering at The Rose Chapel in Fort Worth based on multiple friend referrals. They insisted that Carlo would make sure our wedding reception would run smoothly and the food would be top notch. They were right! Z’s exceeded our expectations in every way. From communication and coordination to the day of, everything ran like a well-oiled machine. The wedding was at 1pm and the reception started at 1:30pm, so we were able to serve a variety of light fare that included an excellent selection of cheeses, fruits, hummus dip, and sandwiches. Not only that, but everything was garnished perfectly to match the theme of the wedding. We were very impressed and best of all, our friends and family are STILL talking about how good the food was. Thank you, Z’s!

Not sure about going back here. Was so stoked to find Chicago style food not far from down here… so stopped in yesterday with my Mom for lunch. Having moved down here from Chicago 21 years ago… I’m always hoping and looking for a good Chicago style hot dog and beef sandwich. The guys at the counter must have been brand new on the job, because they didn’t act like they knew what they were doing. The hot dog was pretty good… not real sure if the dog was Vienna??? The beef sandwich was horrible… the beef lacked flavor and the texture of the beef was exactly like Arby’s…yuck. Was NOT the same style beef as back home. :(

I ventured to this lunch spot yesterday with a Groupon voucher. Prior to going, I read the reviews so that I would know what to order and I ordered the trio salads and peach iced tea. Oh, the reviews didn’t lie. The chicken salad is spectacular. The fruit salad is just perfect – fruit cut in bite sizes, no dressing. The pasta salad is refreshing. The pasta was cooked al dente, has just enough dressing and was good and cold. Since my Groupon had money left over, the nice man behind the counter insisted that I make up the difference, let’s see, brownies? Yes, brownies, please. They are delish. Even though the A/C was out, the gentlemen who work here were very pleasant and could teach customer service to a number of other food service workers. And I forgot to leave a tip! I must correct that!

My wife and I were thoroughly disappointed in Z’s café, particularly their customer service. We used Z’s café to celebrate my sons baptism. We had coordinated to pick up the food on Sunday at noon. My brother-in-law offered to pickup the food but when he arrived at the restaurant no one was there. When we called we were told the oven was not working and our food was not ready. I don’t know if this story was true or not but if it was there could have been a much better communication plan from Z’s café. I really think someone just forgot about our order. My wife and I had a house full of family, some who even flew into town for the event, and were thoroughly embarrassed by the whole ordeal. Z’s café offered to deliver the food to us, which was nice but it was 2 hours after the time we told our guests lunch would be served. The only concession we received was the offer to charge our credit card on Monday vs. Sunday. They charged the full amount to our card the next day(I guess we should be thankful?) Catering is the core business for Z’s and they need to understand people typically hire caterers for important events in their life, in part to reduce stress. As a customer we were hoping to rely on our caterer to provide the food so we could enjoy our special moment with our only child, needless to say we won’t be using Z’s café again.

We searched for a decent caterer for our wedding for a while and had a really hard time finding anything we just loved, but then we found Z’s. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food is to die for. I couldn’t stop eating it. The service was perfect. Everyone at the wedding was very kind and attentive but more than that, leading up to the wedding everyone was very sweet and accommodating. We were having some technical difficulties with out bank and Carlo was very understanding and patient while we got everything worked out. Z’s Café went above and beyond. My husband, myself and every single one of our guests were blown away. Thank you Z’s for such a fantastic experience on our special day!

The Italian beef sandwich is really good… almost as good as traveling to Chicago except without all the hassle of flying. They also have sausage, pastrami, and of course Chicago-style hot dogs.

I have never particularly liked reubens. I drive past this little café every day going to work, so today I decided to give it a try. I went for the reuben. I went for the ultimate reuben. Wow. That was a lot of reuben. They make it open faced because they pile it so high. Tons of meat, sauerkraut, cheese and 1000 island. This thing is amazing. Also, it’s pretty much two meals. You can pick from fruit, chips, or fries. The staff is very friendly. They help you with the menu if you have questions. It is a little bit of a shady location. You have to park behind the café and walk up the side in an alley to get to the front, but with food like that it may be worth the risk.
