We love this place! Once more even though we had to wait for one hour the food was amazing! The waitress wasn’t as nice as normal but I think he was just overwhelmed! A lot of people! Our favorite is without a question the Iberian!

Mushroom risotto balls were delicious with the Pomodoro sauce. The bibb salad was a great addition to the meal. The chorizo and cilantro pesto pie had great flavor but the crust was a little thin for our taste

This place is fantastic. All their ingredients are very fresh and they know how to put them together. We started with Bibb salad which is topped with this delightful thick cut bacon and a healthy portion of goat cheese. Then we shared the burratta and mozzarella pizza(added pepperoni… do it!) which is the perfect size for sharing. I was too full after this, so dessert was a no go… But a drink was not out of the question! So I tried the lime ginger drink(don’t remember what it was called, but it’s the only drink on there with ginger in it) it was perfectly prepared and presented. Can’t wait to come back here and try the rest of their menu!

How have I not written a review for my beloved Thirteen Pies yet?! Ohhhh my. This place is never bad. Ever. We came here for our last anniversary and it was perfect. Low lighting, candles, great alcohol and the best food ever. Anytime my boyfriend wants anything Italian/Pizza-ish I suggest we come here! It’ll cost more than your usual pizza night but it’s so worth it. We always either start with the meatballs or the baked goat cheese. And if we’re just absolutely starving we’ll get both. I can’t recommend these two apps enough– so delicious! Then I always order the Texas Bibb Salad with the roasted red pepper ranch. Ughhhh it’s to die for. Chunks of creamy goat cheese, bacon, hearts of palm… Yum. We’ve only tried two different pizzas because we’re lame and like to stick with what we know. The lamb and jalapeño one(can’t remember the name– it’s very very good though) and the good pepperoni. The crust is so perfect. I think I know where we’ll be having dinner tomorrow ;) Service is always excellent as well! If there’s a wait they have a nice waiting area outside and somebody will come around for drink orders. Thank you Thirteen Pies for always being the BESTTTT:)

This is a really excellent Italian restaurant that focuses on pizza. I saw that by their open kitchen they had fresh pasta hanging on the wooden rod, which is typically how I’ve seen Italians get their pasta ready for cooking upon receiving an order. Also, they have a fridge with top-notch ingredients open for inspection. And their pizza oven is also quite large and impressively made. Service was also enjoyably friendly and second to none — and I came right after the lunch rush. The 13th pies(aka pizzas), which is their namesake, often changes alongside with their creativity. I’ve read reviews that mentioned pancetta and bottleneck clams toppings. On the day I went, they had lobster, gruyère cheese and truffle oil toppings. My dining companion and I ordered one pizza to share, since we didn’t want to order too much food, and with an appetizer, it actually turned out to be perfect. We went with the basics: the Straight pizza, which just has mozzarella, fresh basil, and pecorino cheese. Our appetizer of choice came from their specials menu, the arancinis which consists of five little balls filled with rice and wild mushrooms, and topped with grated pecorino cheese and parsley and accompanied with a fresh tomato dipping(which we saved for use of the pizza crust. And the arancini balls were delicate, tasty, and just perfect all around — we were tempted to order more since they were small. As for the value, I think it could have been a little bit cheaper — $ 8 instead of $ 10 since they came out smaller than we expected, especially after having seen these in Italy and in South America. But we had no complaints since we loved the taste and can tell it was carefully prepared — and probably we will order this again. The straight pizza($ 11) had the perfect chewy, tasty, and fire-baked crust, and the tomato sauce used for it was fresh, vibrant, and a perfect balance for the smokey mozzarella that was used — even though it was pretty much vegetarian, i felt like it had a good savory flavor that meat lovers would enjoy, possibly from the smokey taste. Additionally, I tried a cocktail from their drinks menu, the hand shaken egg nog, which consists of bourbon, dark rum, cream, demerara, farm egg, vanilla, nutmeg, and up. The mixture reminded me of the ponche crema, a Latin American version of spiked egg nog. My friend who tried it thought it was watery, but that it still had a great taste and would order another. I really did enjoy it too and probably would order it again as well — but the rest of the cocktail menu looked great. With the drinks being this good, I was disappointed that they don’t do happy hour. It would be a great place to get drinks if they did, but $ 9 is a little high outside of popular bar drinking times. I did also consider trying the desserts, as they sounded great — but they’re not so Italian, but they are definitely Italian-inspired. But at $ 8 price tag, I wasn’t too inclined to order some — but maybe I will one day and then determine to see if it’s really worth it. Additionally, I wouldn’t mind coming back for dinner. The menu is practically the same, and is only a $ 1 more for every item, pretty much. The difference is little when talking about food of this quality. The only thing I may consider changing is the lighting during the day since the place inside felt pretty dark compared to the outside afternoon sun. Perhaps they can brighten things a bit with color to help make the place feel more vibrant, even though the décor consists of a lot of wood, and is very modern. It almost appears as if it’s meant to be a very formal place, especially when comparing with the neighboring restaurants, but it’s really an easy place to settle into even in casual attire. I would like to come back and even try their pasta dishes, which is a very small part of their menu — but it looks excitingly fresh and I imagine that it would be made well. But I wouldn’t mind sticking to the pizzas since this is by far the best Italian style pizzas I have had in DFW, and it puts Cane Rosso to shame. This is a great find in the West 7th commercial corridor, and is within walking distance to the museums.

This place is my favorite on W 7th(and probably in Fort Worth collectively) because the service is consistently good(which service is a huge problem in FW), as well as the food too. Best dishes are the Goat Cheese starter with a 404 cocktail(sans the simple syrup). Then a Texas Bibb Salad with the Iberian pizza(if you’re real adventurous put an egg on it). You can’t go wrong with that order!

Extremely great service here. Even the hostess is personable! We came here for Tuesday lunch and had the meatballs that just melted in your mouth — so tender! We ordered a pie — I cannot remember which one but it had red onions on it and started w the letter«p». Most of the ingredients on the menu, we were foreign to but went for it and were pleasantly surprised. The two of us could barely finish one pie so it was definitely enough for two along w an appetizer. I love the brick oven and how fancy yet cozy the establishment is. It’s a great place to have meetings and some drinks as well! I will be back for more specialty pies(pizzas) and top notch service.

Firstly, the main word to describe this place is: thoughtful. I ordered the house salad for $ 10 and it was tossed by hand and each leaf had a bit of dressing. I watched out of the corner of my eye as the guy tossed it behind the open station and walked over to my table and sprinkle cracked pepper on it. The arugula was sharp and the cabbage crisp. The salad is balanced. Someone brilliant sat there and thought about each component of this salad. Just thoughtful and I appreciate this fact. Secondly, the atmosphere is good — the lights were dimmed and the middle island was busy with people making the pies. Waiters and waitresses were fluttering around pouring glasses of water and it didn’t matter which table — they serviced everyone as a whole entity, sharing the responsibility. On my left where there was a row of booths by the windows, a mother and child sat, a couple on a date, then a group of friends. This place is for everyone and it is pleasant to chat there — a tad noisy, but expected. I’ve come here twice and I expect to come again. Thanks for a great night.

Thirteen pies was an incredible experience from beginning to end. I had never been to this part of Ft Worth before and loved it! If you have gone to the Shops at Legacy in Plano, it’s very similar. The restaurant has a parking garage directly behind it which will validate for 3 hours. We ended up staying longer than that, but when I left I only had to pay $ 3 for the night so that’s not bad. My friend arrived before me and was told the wait would be an hour. They have a lovely outdoor patio that’s heated so we settled in there as it also had a great view of Christmas lights played to music. A friendly waitress was helpful in suggesting drinks to match our tastes and had them out for us quickly. My friend got a seasonal fall bourbon with clove and 5 spice, while I had their ginger vodka soda and both were fantastic. The wait ended up being closer to an hour and a half, but we were so busy talking and enjoying the light show we barely noticed. We started by sharing a Caesar salad and I knew after the first bite the rest of the meal would be amazing. The romaine lettuce was left in large leaves and tossed with just the right amount of dressing. The parmesan cheese was the good stuff that melts instantly in your mouth too, whereas the cheaper shredded cheese lingers a while. We then shared their burrata mozzarella pie with oven dried tomatoes and basil pesto. It was BLISS! Perfect crust, divine burrata(which is like a combination of brie and mozzarella), fresh pesto, and rich tomato sauce. It was so good that I have not been able to stop thinking about it since. I absolutely cannot WAIT to order it again! One of the reasons I love my dear friend so much is that she is just as obsessed with desserts as I am. Obviously we had to order two, because it’s always better than one yes? Yes, yes it is. We ordered the lemon mascarpone semifreddo along with a seasonal butterscotch budino(Italian for pudding). The semifreddo had red grapes, lemon curd, a semolina pistachio crumble, and was somehow both refreshingly light and decadent. The budino however was all around naughty with pecan toffee, sea salt, and gingersnap cookies which tasted homemade. All the things!!! Each dish seemed to outweigh the next and I felt like I floated home in a cloudy haze of phenomenal food coma. Considering all we ordered, I found the prices to be quite reasonable. We paid for our drinks before coming inside, so I am only counting the salad, pie, and two desserts which were a total of $ 40 or $ 20 each when split down the middle. I will most definitely be back for more, and very soon. I’m excited to see what other seasonal items are offered throughout the year, and also am looking forward to trying their handmade pasta.

One of the better pizza restaurants I have been to in quite a while. Appetizers of crostini and meatballs were fantastic… enough for a meal in itself. Ordered two pies off the menu, one off the board… a Triple Roni, a Light N’ Crispy, and a vegetable number: all were excellent. Service was quick and attentive, even though the place was crowded. The only drawback is that the restaurant is very loud, but it’s worth it. If you want quiet, a library and a snuck-in pizza roll is your best bet.

I ordered 2 pies for takeout from here and let the girl on the other side know it would be another hour before I’d make it out there. Apparently, instead of waiting to make them, they made them immediately and let them sit in the box. The pies were room temp by the time I made it back to the car. As for the pizzas themselves: The options are creative, intriguing, and extensive. I went with the lamb sausage pie and the 13th pie(brie and bacon that night). The crust is thin and crispy, far better than average, but certainly not the best in town. The toppings were good but unimpressive. They may have been better when the pies were fresh, I don’t know. Really, with similar competition like Cane Rosso and Vivo 53 in the ring, I can’t see myself coming back here again.

Thirteen Pies is an upscale pizza joint in a great neighborhood. Our party of 8 was able to grab one of the round tables in the back, and it was great for conversation. Noise level was fine, in fact, we were certainly the loudest table. This is a great place for family gatherings of up to ten people, although I would not bring children. We tried almost all of the small plates, and they all were great, but my favorite was the ricotta crostini with peperonata — simply delicious. We ordered seven pizzas to share between the eight of us, and did not come close to finishing. Two pizzas would feed three people pretty well. My favorites were the Iberian and the house made lamb sausage. Everyone else’s favorite seemed to be the garlic and kale white. The one that I did not like and would not recommend was the daily rotator — BBQ brisket. That just didn’t work, and the brisket itself was a little dry and a little tough. They’re known for their grapefruit rickey. I found it unremarkable and boring, although Jayne liked it. One drink did knock my socks off, and that was the La Palabra — basically a high octane margarita with maraschino and lavender syrup instead of triple sec. Wow, that was good. Get some.

I am not typically a pizza fan but this place has converted me to pizza. The only other place that I’ll eat pizza at is Girhmaldis. It’s funny how those two places do pizza so differently but they end result is still the same… a DELICIOUSPIECEOFPIE! First things first, the majority of the pizzas here are thin crust(my fav!). Secondly, if you’re looking for a normal cheese/sausage/pepperoni pizza, you’re at the wrong place. The ingredients used in the pizzas are very unique! Each combination works so well with each other! Our favorite is The Iberian, Spicy Sausage, and the Burratta Mozzarella. The most unique ingredient in the Iberian is a slice of yellow tomato. It’s weirdly delicious and I love it! With the Spicy Sausage we added the an egg. The yolkyness is delicious with the sausage, red pepper, and provolone. And the one we ALWAYS have to get is the Burratta Mozzarella. It is literally a thin crust pizza with oven dried tomato sauce. What puts it over the top is that every slice has a dollop of mozzarella and basil pesto. These three combination just works so well and make this a simple yet very delicious pizza! Definitely a must try and come again restaurant!

So we came back to give this place a second try. They had my review removed the first time saying it was too similar to my event review, even though everyone who gave them a 5 star copy and pasted their event reviews too(yet all those reviews remain). But I digress… So we came back for a good ol’ second try! This time just my husband and I, no event. The second time confirmed it and may have bumped the original rating I gave the first time. First time I did not like the food too much but service was superb! This time… uhhh… where was the service? There were only 5 occupied tables when we were here. So not crowded at all. And this restaurant was full of employees! Some were in training or taste testing, some bustling around behind the counters, some just walking around to this back area I guess where they take breaks? It was hard trying to find our waiter, I just ended up getting up to grab things for myself, like chili pepper. Food: a little better… Pizza pepperoni and truffle oil. The pizza crust wasn’t burnt this time. But still not good. I ended up not eating the crust. It was a bit hard and dense. Not puffy or soft or had any flavor on it. The crust is pretty big that it takes away from some of the pizza and sauce. The pizza is pretty thin too. So I had half the pizza(minus the crust) and was quite still hungry. The truffle is a very light addition. By light, i mean almost non existent. It wasn’t until the last couple of bites of my last slice did I get a whiff or taste of it, and it reminded me that I did order pepperoni and truffle. I noticed the meat topping was not better quality. For the price of the pizza, I was hoping for more quality and gourmet. Bolognese pasta– I think their pasta noodles are made in house, unless the pasta hanging on the racks on the wall are just for show casing. But if so, great. More restaurants should make fresh pasta in house. But the dish itself was okay, and not a large portion. It’s like a fancier spaghetti with meat sauce, or similar tasting to lasagna. I haven’t come across many restaurants that wow me in their spaghetti or bolognese. It’s a very basic dish and would be hard to screw up. So after my husband and I shared a pizza and pasta, we left still hungry. I definitely have a couple of go-to gourmet pizza places, and this does not cut it. I hope they don’t try to remove my review again since this was not based on an event, but from my own personal dining. They seem to not accept anything less than 4 or 5 stars and have them removed.

Time for an update on Thirteen Pies. I’m still a little confused about the technical difference between Fireside and Thirteen, but in the end it matters not, because either way they continue to serve me amazing food and cocktails. WOO. On our most recent visit, we tried one of the daily appetizer specials — warm Texas peaches served with burrata on a bed oF arugula. UMHELLYESPLEASE. I’ll eat anything with burrata(best, most smooth and creamy mozzarella ever), and if you’re pairing it with fruit I get even more excited. The dish was incredible, although I think it needed a little more salt. For the entrée, Adam and I split the Garlic and Kale White Pie, which has baby kale, house-made garlic ricotta, fresh mozzarella, fontina, and parmesan. Oh man. You’ll smell like garlic for a week but it’s so worth every bite. The gluten free crust continues to impress me, and just the sheer amount of flavor they can pack onto one pie is amazing. Mmmm. Decent wine and cocktail menu, although I find their wine prices to be a bit high. Definitely order the Grapefruit Rickey though. It’s $ 8 of fruity tartness that’s not too sweet. Even non-grapefruit drinkers seem to love this cocktail. Be careful though, the liquor sneaks up on you.

Man, what can I say about this place. I first came here when it was Fireside and had a great time. Food was awesome, ambience is great, service was good, 5 stars. I’ve now been since and got to experience it in a whole new way through a Unilocal event. I’ve gotta say, these guys were bending backwards for us and doing a fantastic job. Here’s how it went: When you step in you’ll see it’s very dark and usually very busy. The darkness makes it a great date spot, but it’s pizza so it’s good for everyone. They’re always busy because clearly they’re delicious. At this event we would get to try some awesome cocktails and two different pizza’s, a play on bruschetta and the Iberian. My friend and I don’t eat meat, so we went for the more bruschetta style pizza, but I can tell you from my boyfriend’s perspective(different visit) that the Iberian is AMAZING and you should definitely try it. The bruschetta pizza was like, so good. Sauce is incredibly important when it comes to pizza and they get it right. Like, so right that I wanna buy it. Can I have it? Their crust is a perfect compromise between hand tossed and thin crust, making it good for any kind of pizza goer. Our drink was a grapefruit ricky and just WOW. Here’s the deal, I don’t like alcohol. In fact, I kind of hate it. I can always taste it and the bitterness is just awful. Why put myself through that? But I wanted to participate and I was so happy to find that it was in no way too strong, the grapefruit really cut the alcohol and it was quite good. Our bartender was also fantastic. Everyone seems to really enjoy they wagyu balls. We don’t eat beef, so we didn’t try them, but they looked great.

So… I’m in love with this place. I can’t believe I had never been here before. It’s in a super trendy area of Fort Worth where all the cool people go… so I felt cool and hip walking into Thirteen Pies. I started off with their well-known Grapefruit Rickey. Those things are amazing. It just tastes like you’re drinking straight-up grapefruit juice, so be careful, because they are deliciously dangerous! For dinner, I got the Garlic & Kale White pizza. My friends… I did not want that pizza to end. I’ve never liked a pizza this much. I even took a picture with it! The ambience is very relaxing with comfortable booths and chairs. And the patio has all of these cool concrete blocks, benches and tables to sit on and chill with your friends/family. The only thing I had a tiny problem with was the lighting. It was a bit too dark for me inside the restaurant. But other than that, I give this place 5 stars! Again… I could eat that Garlic & Kale pizza for the rest of my life.

Servers here know their stuff! A lot of the ingredients I didn’t know of and the server explained each one and the flavor. Lots of wines, I don’t drink wine so a plus for wine drinkers. Chalkboard is also a helper if you’re clueless! Pizzas are thin and its a little bigger than a personal size pizza. Ordered the Iberian, one with an egg on top, and the other I can’t remember… Sorry. But everything was delicious! Must try pizza joint!

This is such a nice little restaurant in West 7th, and I’m glad that I tried it. It’s definitely one of the more upscale pizza restaurants I have been too. they have a gorgeous brick oven and an open kitchen. Food — 6⁄10 I only tried the lamb sausage pizza, and it was pretty good. Honestly, pizza is just one of those kind of foods that just tastes the same everywhere to me. Unless, it’s absolutely exceptional pizza, it’s all going to be pretty standard to me. Their pizza here is made from a very thin crust, and I actually prefer a thicker, pan style crust. Service — 10⁄10 If the service wasn’t so exceptional, I would have given Thirteen Pies 3⁄5 stars. I don’t remember our waiters name, but he was absolutely amazing. He was extremely kind and knowledge. We all had a lot of questions about the ingredients, and he answered all of them very informatively. Overall, Thirteen Pies was pretty standard in terms of pizza for me. However, they truly do care about their customers. I always love this kind of service at restaurants. If you want quality restaurant service, Thirteen Pies is definitely the place to be.
