This restaurant is EMPTY and CLOSED! My husband and I went for dinner last night and it was very disappointing. No sign and no one answered the phone.

I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant in January and wanted to use it but found out on Unilocal that it has closed. Called their phone number, no answer, and then called their other restaurant in Weatherford and they confirmed that. If you purchased a Groupon for them in January and haven’t used it, you will want to contact Groupon for a refund. So bummed!

Absolutely loved this place. We had a groupon, other wise we probably wouldn’t have tried this place. There are a lot of steak places in Cowtown to choose from. Chris, our waiter was top notch. Extremely professional and seemed as if he’s done this for a while. The steak was very good. If you like it medium rare, this might be a little too rare, but it was great. Wifey had the sea bass and it huge and tasty. Cheesecake was one of the best we’ve had in Fort Worth. We hit the place on a Wednesday night and it was about ¾ full. The meal was about 1.5 hours long and yes there is a space between the apps(jalapeño soup) and the meal. It’s a nice place were customers talked to each other and said hi to you. Great atmosphere. It’s worth a trip, especially if you have the groupon.

I had eaten at the Weatherford location several times, and the food and service were very good. However, after this week in the FW location, we will not be back. The service was great, but the food was just not inspiring at all, with the exception of the escargot, it was exceptional, maybe the best I have ever had. The sea bass was flavorless, and the cream sauce was more like pudding and it was extremely rich. My husband ordered the asian inspired tuna, it came out sashimi style tuna medallions, which was not what he expected. Kudos to the waiter and chef for attempting to make it better for him. They took it back and instead of just cooking it a bit, they brought out a thick piece of tuna, also not really what he wanted, and took another 20 min to prepare. Just a side note, he NEVER sends anything back, and will eat just about everything set before him. His comment on the dish, «sometimes these chefs try to be too cute with the food». Service and atmosphere is 4 stars, but there are too many great restaurants to come here again for dinner. Wine and escargot, maybe.

My husband and I visited this restaurant twice. The first time the food and service were amazing. We had the crabcake app, I had the pork chop, he had a steak and we split a shareable Mac & cheese. It was fantastic and I was really looking forward to a second visit. The second time the food was just so so. It wasn’t inedible but it wasn’t great either. We again split the crab cake which was noticeably smaller than the first time but still amazing. I had the sea bass and my husband had one of the a-la-carte steaks. My sea bass while perfectly edible had zero flavor and the risotto was just ok. His steak was great but the $ 9 side of Mac and cheese was dry and lacking in the flavor that it had the last time. Many have complained about prices and they are a little high but it a nice quiet atmosphere that people don’t tend to bring their screaming or misbehaving children to so we don’t mind paying a little more. It is practically across the street for us so we will give it one more try on a weeknight to see if maybe it was just an off night the second time around.

Congratulations. You are the worst place to go out to eat out of dozens that I have been too in Fort Worth. My date(fiancé’s birthday) and I showed up twenty minutes early on purpose to get a drink in the bar. We checked in with the hostess the moment we got there. Call it 7:40 for our 8:00 reservation. At 8:10 I went pack to her post and very nicely asked«how are things going,» with a smile. She says to me «oh yeah… what’s your name again?» Lol. Honest mistake, right? She sits us immediately after forgetting about us. We sit and wait… and wait… and wait. Waitress shows up! She’s alive!(Dressed liked the homeless, but alive) says, «Hey, we are waiting on water, but do you know what you want to drink?» I say, «I’ll take a wine list if you have one.» She comes back over 5 minutes later with the list. «Ready to order» she asks. «No, we’ll take some bread and water though» I say with a tone. «Oh, want me to put in an order of appetizers». I order a glass of wine. «We’re out of that…» No apologies, no recommendation for a different glass. I order something else. By this time with her lack of willingness to help/work I shut down. I want nothing from this crappy restaurant but I am here for my love’s birthday. Powering through. I say nothing to the waitress the rest of the night besides 1 word responses. Oops, sorry. Got sidetracked. It’s been 30 mins. We ordered filets and wedge salads. Why? Because if back of house is like front of house I will give them something that is difficult to screw up. Salad was soup with the amount of dressing that was on it. We barely ate them, my fiancé had one bite. No «what’s wrong» or «everything okay?» From our waitress at any point, but the manager dropped of the steak. She didn’t ask us why we didn’t like our salads. She wants to watch us cut into our steaks, look at it, and agree to eating it/paying for it. A technique she learned at 9 dollar steak Wednesday’s at Texas Roadhouse. Haha. «Does it look ok?» She asks. «Ummm, sure» I say. «Great, thanks» she responds and walks away. Future wife and I are laughing At this point. The waitress sucks because management sucks! When you charge $ 40/$ 50 for a piece of meat you can’t come to the table for verbal agreements to pay For the steaks, right? BUT! It totally made sense as to why they do this. The steak(albeit, at this point the chef has to blow me away because his front house staff and management are so awful) was over spiced and over cooked… as in cooked to long… as in you screwed up a steak. You serve lamb, lobster, grilled salmon and you ruined at least 4 steaks(table to our north sent there’s back) The bar tender with the shaved head and the beard was great. A+ for him. Everyone else needs to realize what they are charging for food and what(normally) comes with that. I will never go back and will always have this negative opinion I will share this epically bad experience everyone at her birthday party today. Congratulations again! You. Are. The. Worst. In. Town.

Horrible! Ordered a filet, and am sure it was a sirloin. Horrific chef, not a humble bone in his body. Cold food… super disappointed. I now know why they trick people with the groupon, awful.

I wanted so badly to like this place. When it was in Weatherford and I was living there I heard good things about and always wanted to try it. We arrived at 7:15. The meal started off fine with our appetizers and salads arriving on time and all tasted fine. We ordered a couple bottles of wine as well and that arrived promptly. Then, nothing from our waitress for over an hour. When our food did arrive, over half of our meals were cold. The prime rib(the special) was not even lukewarm and the salmon was so cold and dry we had to order any kind of sauce to go with it so that we could choke it down. Then we had to wait another decade to get our bill. We were the second to last table to leave. All in all we were there for almost 3 hours. To top it all off while waiting in line for the restroom my friend’s mother overheard a waiter(not ours) saying, «F*ck these f*cking customers. I wish they’d f*cking leave so I can go home.» Well, you got your wish as we will not be back.

I never post reviews but this place inspired me to change that. The place itself is pretty nice; great setup and a nice looking menu. Honestly, the only thing that was a problem was the service. The only thing was that it was a big problem. I had made 7 pm reservations over the phone. But, when we had arrived they insisted we wait at the bar until they get our table ready. That’s fine I suppose, they get busy. No big deal. Then, we finally get seated by around 7:30 pm. Fine still. We go to put in our orders. Our waitress came back about 15 mins later to inform me that the house special(entrée) was out, as well as our crab cakes starters were out. Okay once again, things happen. My mood didn’t start to turn until everything has happened to this point, and our salads didn’t come out until after 8:15 pm. It was just bad service. Our waitress didn’t even come check on us much. I looked up and around to look for her only to see her other tables doing the same. And if that wasn’t all enough, our steaks came out every late and COLD! I don’t mean, just kind of cold. I mean, why was I sitting here for the extra 10 mins while my steak sat there I’m back getting cold. I almost asked for a microwave for my steak; it was that cold. Bottom line, place is good but with service like that you might be less irritated and more satisfied for your buck elsewhere.

Have to say disappointed. We were there early in the evening and went because we had gone to the top chef competition and decided to go to all of the contestants restaurants to try their food. Ordered a stuffed pork chop and was told they were out, which was off on a Tuesday evening at 6ish. Means you didn’t start with it but it was a main offering. We ordered chateaubriand and sadly the waitress did not know how to serve it. She actually has a knife that would not cut the steak I handed her mine to help her out. The chef at one point came around the few tables that were there. I tried to have a conversation but found him arrogant to say the least. I mentioned we had watched him at top chef and he flippantly threw some comment about taking a selfie with us, no, we were showing and interest in what you do. Both the food and the chef left a bad taste in the mouth.

Overall, a disappointing dining experience. Our waitress was unable to answer any of our questions about entrees. She seemed awkward and unpolished, which doesn’t sit well when entrees are over $ 30. We asked why there were bread plates when we were not served any. She asked if we wanted some, and We told her yes, but she never brought any. The lobster bisque was probably the worst I’ve had. It was very peppery, and burned my throat. My husband ordered the chicken saltimbocca, and it was really skimpy, with one tiny chicken breast. A horrible value. The cajun pork chop was actually quite good, served on a bed of pasta and spinach, with a crab ragout on top, that was a tasty sauce for the pasta. To enjoy the full flavors, order without salt. Usually the cook overdoes the salt, sometimes to the point of the food being near inedible. We enjoyed going to the former Weatherford location in the past, where the restaurant had a great western vibe. Too many better choices in Fort Worth, like the Silver Fox, which has outstanding service and food, to bother returning here.

Wonderful experience. I’m always kind of skeptical of groupon restaurant but Wild Mushroom proved me wrong. It’s a little hard to find as its nestled away in a small shopping area. We were greeted by the hostess who promptly had us seated. The best part of our experience was our waitress Brie. She was great and I think all to often wait staff only get named in reviews they were bad. She had great recommendations, made sure we always had something to drink and made sure the food was to our liking. We started out with a half dozen fresh oysters. They were fresh, cleaned well and tasted great. As for the main course, we ordered the 8oz filet and the double cut pork chop. The veggies with the steak was a great mix of zucchini, squash, broccoli and greens. We had a hard time choosing between the risotto and Mac and cheese. Brie recommended the Mac and cheese and we trusted her. Lucky for us, they were out of mashed potatoes that were supposed to come with the steak so she dubbed the risotto. The steak came out to a perfect medium rare. The pork chop was also very good, but I preferred the steak. It came on a bed of pasta and spinach with pieces of crawfish. Very good dish. We were quite full after dinner but Brie talked us into dessert and we weren’t disappointed. We got the cheesecake trio. Pumpkin was amazing. The death by chocolate was good just a little dense for my liking but it was my girlfriends favorite. The raspberry white chocolate was ok. Nothin special. Overall, great restaurant. I feel some of the reviews are unfair but everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you decide to come, ASKFORBRIE! She will make sure you leave satisfied.

We were very excited to try the Wild Mushroom after hearing good things, but ended up leaving pretty disappointed. The service left much to be desired. Our server didn’t know what we were talking about when we ordered our cocktails, and actually asked us to open the menu and point to the drinks we wanted. Our waters were never refilled and we were not brought steak knives until we asked. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The sides were pretty bland, which is unfortunate when salt and pepper is not provided on the table. We requested strawberry cheesecake for dessert, but was then told they were out but there was blueberry available. We agreed to that, but then was brought blackberry cheesecake instead. The cheesecake itself was pretty good, but I don’t care for blackberries, and wouldn’t have ordered it had I known. When we asked for boxes, we did get them, but didn’t get a bag to put the boxes in. This isn’t a big deal, but strange when we saw all the tables around us get a bag. Since we walked over, a bag would have been appreciated. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere, and the bar seemed nice. Most of my complaints are pretty minor, and if we would have had a better server, I’m sure my attitude about the place would probably be different. It’s just disappointing when you pay so much for a meal. Overall, I probably won’t come back.

We came here for resturaunt week, so this review might not reflect the normal menu and service of Wild Mushroom. The first thing I commented on was that they havw specific times you can reserve for RW. I think it’s because they don’t want the RW participants comparing their meals to the regular menu. Our server was kind, but didn’t go out of his way for us. We ordered the 4 courses. We both had the roasted jalapeño soup, yum! Then we each had a scallop with wild rice and cilantro cream, it was pretty good. For entrees he had the steak and lobster with potatoes and I had the plank salmon with vegetables and coconut rice. The veggies and rice were my favorite. The salmon was undercooked a lot. Dessert was a cheesecake sampler, it wasn’t anything special. We left satisfied, but not planning our next visit.

Went with family for dinner. I heard great things about the reasturant but was not impressed overall. I had the signature filet; It was ok. The rest of my food was cold. I had a bite of their tuna and it was too salty. I was very disappointed with my experience.

Some family members mentioned the«wild mushroom» restaurant in my area and I saw it the other day and am there now getting brunch. It’s a top quality meal(I paid $ 22.50 for brunch). but you choose a main course with a fruit and salad and appetizer buffet and it is all wonderful! :) Main courses included«eggs Benedict», «steak and eggs», «chicken and waffles», and several others. My steak and eggs were just perfect, the eggs were perfectly seasoned and cooked(firm whites runny yolks) and the steak was cooked just as requested(medium rare and recommended) which was warmed in the center and hot on the outside with virtually no grey(the beautiful red color extended right out to the edges), and the outside was perfectly crusty and crisped and deliciously flavored with herbs and seasoning. The wait staff were all friendly and helpful and in my case they started speaking to me by name soon after I arrived. Great!

My husband and I just loved this place when it was in Weatherford, and we had only one wish, that it wasn’t so far away! We are so happy they moved to Fort Worth! We recently visited the new Fort Worth location and had a blast! «Awesome crowd, great live music, and fabulous ambiance!» The service was impeccable! The staff reacted with great pleasure, and absolute delight that we had selected The Wild Mushroom to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and they did everything to ensure a magical evening! Steve was amazing and made us feel so welcome. We were greeted by both the chef and mgr, wishing my husband a happy birthday, and checking to see that everything was perfect. I’m happy to report, that our food was as fabulous as always, and the drinks were spot-on! This place is culinary perfection, and it’s so inviting you’ll never want to leave. The Wild Mushroom is my «Fort Worth» pick for a perfectly delicious, romantic evening out!“ I would like to add, the hostess /receptionists are very helpful. I suggest calling them with your evening plans. Let them know if you want a romantic table in a quiet corner, or if you want something fun and lively, like being seated close to the band. I did, and they were very accommodating!

Wild Mushroom? Wildly disappointing. Service is terrible — consistent with other comments: missing waitstaff; no water; long wait btw courses; found them chatting outside bathroom blocking the door. Slow at taking plates away. When they did take plates, several people will bombard your conversation from the left/from the right/asking you to shift forward/etc completely unaware of the guests’ experience. Needs training from a capital-grille type restaurant. 6:30pm Friday night: 1st choice: veal chop w/mushroom; ran out. 2nd choice: Seafood Paella; also ran out. Please tell us what you don’t have in advance? *the sign of a poorly-managed restaurant and we should have left!* Prime rib special is not special at all. Tough, big chucks of fat still hanging onto the select-grade meat. Very tough. Over-salted yellow broccolini was the veg of the day. Slimy mashed potatoes — gross. Will we be back? Very very unlikely. Unenjoyable experience. Driving home: I’m already thinking about the next meal given how unsatisfying Wild Mushroom was.

We first dined at the Wild Mushroom not long after it opened here in Fort Worth and enjoyed a wonderful experience; both the food and service were excellent. We even visited with the owner/manager briefly and he seemed most helpful at the time. This experience was in early December. Fast forward to my wife’s birthday, January 16. We reserved the semi-private«dining table» in the middle room for six people as we would all be celebrating that night. Upon arrival, we had a short wait for the table to be prepared and were seated soon after. There was a quick acknowledgement of the birthday(listed on the reservation) by the initial greeting hostess, nothing by anyone else during the entire course of the evening. I found this unusual and disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. We were then approached by our waiter who asked for a drink order. We wanted to order from the wine list but, on each request, were told that choice was not available. Only on our fourth request did we finally find a bottle they still had in stock, and there was only one of those. The waiter indicated the sommelier had just quit with no notice, and that was why their stock was so low. Next, we began our dinner order. One guest ordered the red snapper and sometime after all the orders were placed and delivered to the kitchen, was told that also was sold out and he would have to make an alternate selection. I had the Mapleleaf Duck which sounded good but consisted of several very small pieces of duck breast that were overcooked, gristly, and slathered with a gelatinous sweet sauce to disguise the lack and poor quality of the duck itself. The Chateaubriand was undercooked(ordered medium-rare, but was a cold rare) not bad in taste, but nothing«over the top» either. The Caesar salads lacked appropriate dressing and what was there tasted more like vinaigrette, not Caesar. After the food was delivered, our waiter seemed to disappear. We wanted some fresh cracked pepper(the shaker was placed on a credenza behind our table), and asked one of the hostesses to please dispense it around the table. She curtly replied, «I can just bring you salt and pepper if you want it!» As the final insult, after we were finished, we had to wait at least 20 minutes to locate the waiter and get our checks. When they came, we found a 20% gratuity had been added in a somewhat clandestine fashion(I guess because we were a party of six). Clearly, this kind of service and sub-standard treatment wasn’t worth 20% — or even 15% in my opinion. There are simply too many good restaurants in Fort Worth for any of us to risk going back to the Wild Mushroom again, especially for a special occasion. After all, this place isn’t cheap. I know, next year for this event, we will probably head to Tim Love’s Lonesome Dove where we can always count on a great experience.

New location, new look, new chef, supposedly the same menu — but the food has disappointed. I used to rave about this place. My parents and their friend dined at the Weatherford location all — the — time. They have introduced many people to the old location, as well. Deals had been made under that cow picture near the old patio. So the expectation was so high when they moved closer to home! Parking I do like that this new spot has a valet — parking can get really tight here so pull up right in front and the valet is set up in front of the door! Inside Now at the new location, the décor is chic, and there two different music that plays in different rooms. Live music in the front room, and as you move to a area recorded music. The live music was great, maybe step it down a notch with the recorded stuff so sounds are not competing. Roasted Elephant Garlic with Brie This appetizer is the most popular item. Its not good and not as it used to be. It should be with caramelized onions, not sauteed onions along with chopped tomatoes passed as tomato compote. Tomato compote is almost a jam(as you used to serve it) — now, its just tomatoes chopped and warmed. Additionally, this used to be presented on an long white serving dish that was not only easy to lift a spread off of, but was not bowed dish. The dish you serve in now is not correct, its messy and everything seems to slide to the middle of the bowl. It’s as though this dish is now an after thought. No care to how things are placed on the plate(bowl). Chilean Sea Bass Should be delicate, and drizzled with truffle butter sauce on a bed of mushroom risotto. However, the fish had a unusual texture with some parts being opaque and other parts being tough. The risotto was delicate and creamy, though. A definite star for this. Risotto is spot on. Seafood Paella This is the first time I tried a combination of bouillabaisse on paella. I think my preference is to have either paella, OR bouillabaisse. Not on the same plate. The result is too much salt and barely able to taste any saffron, or seafood, other than the scallops which is actually the only thing prepared outside of the dish and an extra star for this one. Shrimp Scampi Large beautiful shrimp on a bed of pasta tossed with red sauce. Its odd because the menu describes this as «4 /U-12 blue shrimp in our garlic citrus butter; served atop angel hair pasta». Didnt taste any garlic citrus butter in the dish at all, and the last time we order Scampi here, it looked totally different too. The thing is, that the people here are really nice. While they didn’t do anything to resolve our issues because they ran out of shrimp and scallops. We feel the entrees are just not the way they used to be. I think the only person in the kitchen who is the same is the one person who makes the risotto, by the way. Their bread is still great, the new décor is very inviting, and the service is still superb. Our waiter came from the Weatherford location. His personable service and attention to details would be a reason to come back for a drink and little bite with friends. I still think that the owners should stick to what they do best and what they have been doing all this time in Weatherford — which was kick out some killer food AND service! Pleases bring back that food made with love and passion. WM, you know what Im talking about. You know what you do best. That’s what people drove ALL the way out to Weatherford for. Do you remember people would sit out your door and wait for you to open? I do hope to come back to experience improved food — the way it used to be.
