A good hole in the wall place. The burger is on. Waiters was nice and friendly. I’ll come back in try something else.

Great place hidden on the shore of Lake Worth. Laid back, blue collar bar always provides a friendly atmosphere. Nice patio with a view of the lake and an occasional F-16 coming in to land at NAS-JRB. Great service with good bar food. Plenty of parking!

We were looking for somewhere with outdoor seating and a view and decided to try The Point On Lake Worth, finding it long on atmosphere and short on everything else. The tranquil outdoor setting was the strongest thing this place has to offer. The patio, grassy lawn and water view were a pleasant place to sit, talk, and drink. The staff seemed friendly but were overly casual about our presence there. In fairness its a Tuesday and there were only two servers. My date is a former bartender and ordered a drink that wasn’t on the menu. The bartender was game for making it and the result was delicious. Our server could not list the beer selections for us(not listed on the menu either) but told us to just ask for what we wanted and she’d tell us if they have it. No draft, just bottles. So I listed a few, «No. No. No». Just tell me what you ****ing sell! Finally went with Negra Modelo. Enjoyed talking for a while and decided to eat elsewhere. So, can’t speak to the food. Recommended for a drink and slow paced lakeside evening talk if you don’t need craft beer.

the point is an awesome place! bring your friends, your significant other, or even bring the whole family! the location is beautiful, right on the lake. I’ve spent many times just sitting close to the bank watching little duck families float on by and a fishies jumpin’ out of the water. they serve great food and have a wonderful bar! not to mention the amazing staff! they’re all so personable and so funny! you’re missing out if you don’t stop by at least once.(:

I’ve been eating at The Point on Lake Worth ever since I was a kid, and even though the appearance of the place has changed from time to time, they still serve up some great chow. The restaurant is down the road from Carswell Air Force Base, situated on a hilltop overlooking the lake. Diners can arrive by boat or car, and can walk directly up from the docks to the restaurant if they so choose. The food is primarily what you’d find in your traditional bar and grill such as burgers, sandwiches, and various finger foods. I’ve found myself coming back over the years for the all you can eat catfish, the best you’ll find in Lake Worth! The fish has always been fresh, well cooked and battered throughout the years, even though their recipe has changed(for the better) recently. The wait staff know what they are doing, and lots of them have been working there since the restaurant opened. I VERY rarely have to ask for a refill when I eat here. The main attraction is on the patio, providing a great view of the lake, and the Lake Worth bridge from a hilltop. Make sure and ask to be seated outside if the weather permits it. Cold beer, smiling faces, quick service, and good food. What more could you ask for?

SHORT Version: Decent view of Eagle Mountain Lake –but tons of mosquitos, service is lacking, but the food was pretty tasty and with good portions. LONGER Version: I came across this place after I bought a Groupon for it. I knew it had a lakeside view so I was pretty excited to try it. We went on a Tuesday night just before 6pm. We walked in through the front doors of the place into the main dining area — it was completely empty. I could see a bar in another room with a bartender chatting it up with 2 or 3 guys who looked like regulars. We stood there for several minutes thinking that at any moment someone would come seat us, but no. Finally, I walked over and talked to the bartender and she told us to sit wherever we wanted. The view of the lake was pretty good, so we sat outside — but the mosquitos were out of control, so in we went. As we were coming back inside, I could see the cook in the kitchen playing on his cell phone — but he was standing, bent at the waist with the undersides of his forearms resting on the food prep area. Ummmmm… gross. I was seriously considering leaving but I decided to pretend I hadn’t seen that and hope for the best. Once back at our table, we had to move tables twice because the exposed air conditioning pipes on the ceiling were dripping water from the condensation that had accumulated on them. It’s kinda hard to enjoy the dinner table conversation when you have cold water dripping in your hair every few seconds. I started looking around and noticed standing water in a few places on their concrete floor. They’re obviously aware of the issue though as they have buckets hanging everywhere from the ceiling… :-/ Anyway, the food came out in a fair amount of time and everyone was pleased with their meal. I got the fried shrimp, my kids got the fried catfish and the chicken tenders, and my fiancée got a burger. Overall, I think this place is so-so — they definitely need a hostess — or at least a sign in front giving people direction so they don’t stand there awkwardly wondering if they will be served or not. :) And, so far, none of have gotten sick from the cook lounging on the food prep area — so that’s a plus too I guess. ;)

Great hole in the wall atmosphere, perfect for a lake day. Great views of the lake, horse shoes, boat dock you can tie up to, cold beer and good food. Chicken fried steak and fried chicken tenders are excellent.

My chicken fried steak lunch special($ 6.95!) was a hefty helping and reeeeally good – and I’m picky about my chicken fried steak. If you like fried okra, theirs is better than most: fresh and crunchy and not too salty. My son’s club sandwich was better than many we’ve had at self-professed delis. Our waitress was really nice, great with the kids. The food came out FAST. We walked out the back and threw rocks in the lake after lunch. I like that the staff seemed to be nice to each other and that the restaurant and bathrooms, though the building is older, were bright and super-clean. I’ll go back to try out happy hour and definitely return with the family, too.

Stopped in for lunch while I had my boat out on Lake Worth. Service was fast and on their game. The food was pretty good. I had the catfish Po Boy it was better than expected. The boat dock and steps leading up to the restaurant were in need of some repair. Other than that, i’d say if you are in the area or on the water stop in for lunch and a few cold ones.

Staff is friendly & attentive, but could use some training in customer service. View of the lake is nice. Onion rings were good. Chicken fried chicken was so tough I couldn’t eat it. Guess I should have sent it back but had lost my appetite by then. I told the waitress it was tough and no offer was made to take it back or remove it from the bill. Yes, I could have requested it be taken back or off the bill, but should I have to do that? Needless to say, I won’t return to the Point.

The Point has a great view of Lake Worth, but also of Loop 820. I say if you go, do it at night and imagine the passing cars off in the distance are gigantic fireflies. The lunch special was meat loaf and was pretty good. The jalapeño cheeseburger I ordered had a nice char-broiled taste to it, but the tomato slice was not ripe, and the cheese was not melted. The burger came with chips for $ 6.45, fries were extra. The inside of the place reminded me of a pool hall,(there are actually pool tables next to dining tables). I say go at night for a drink and a snack out on the patio for a view of the gigantic fireflies.
