The Fairmount is a new bar on Magnolia in Ft. Worth that has live music 7 nights a week. I have been twice now, on a Friday night and on a Tuesday night. Tuesday: NOTSOMUCH Friday: ROCKEDOUT As for the Tuesday, I went pretty early, around 8pm, and I was greeted but 6 old guys sitting at the bar and 2 people way on the other side playing pool. Now, The Fairmount is a rather large place so when you walk in and only see 8 or so people, it’s a quick damper. The website boasted live music 7 nights a week but I was just there a little too early. I drank my beer and left disappointed. Discouraged, yet determined, I decided to go back only later at night and on a Friday… JACKPOT!!! The Fairmount redeemed itself quite well. The place was packed and the Texas Country music was great! I drank, danced and had a wonderful time! There was a nominal cover charge but that’s pretty typical for live music around here. The only downside is the parking. While there is large parking lot right behind the bar, it is not owned by the Fairmount and if you park there, you will be towed. So, instead of letting people park in the LARGE and EMPTY parking lot, the a-hole owner of it makes you park on the street which, in actuality, isn’t too bad. Magnolia is a pretty street so walking a block or two could be worse than it really is.
