Storage King Self Storage

Rented a unit on Friday and by Sunday someone from a neighboring unit had climbed over the gap in the ceiling and broke 2 of our shelves using them as a ladder and rifled through 2 boxes, stealing an antique radio. Management wasn’t concerned with the issue nor were they concerned with resolving the issue. I would NOT recommend this place for safe Storage.

Can I not give this place 0 stars? The woman that owns and operates this place is horrible! Her name is Alicia. We pulled up and there is a younger guy out front working on his motorcycle right in front of the front door. I had to step over him and all of his tools to be able to get into the building. After I am inside I tell the woman I have a reservation. She asks for my id and looks up my information. This reservation was made days in advance. She starts looking and sees that she has nothing I ordered but the truck. I brought up the guy outside in the middle of the door way to her saying he could have moved down a little away from the door and she gets all huffy becuase it was her son. I ordered 2 regular dollys, one appliance dolly, and 12 moving blankets. When she tells me she has nothing, I tell her the reservation was made several days in advance and ask her if she has had the reservation this long shouldn’t she have everything together already? She called earlier today to make sure when I was going to come pick everything up. Shouldn’t it be ready then? When I asked her this her response verbatim was, «UHAUL IS NOT MY PRIORITY IT’S JUST A PERK ON MY PROPERTY»!! I did drop the f bomb one time in her store but only when I was on the phone with my fiancé telling him she didn’t have what we ordered and asking what he wanted me to do. He asked me what she meant by her statement and I told him that it meant she didn’t give a F-​bomb. He contacted Uhaul corp. and while I was waiting for a response from him she asked for my ID again. I knew she was up to something fishy so i asked her why and she lied to me (which I could tell she was) and said she needed to enter it again for us to rent the uhaul. She gives my id back and says that she has registered me online for a do not rent thing b/​c I was verbally abusive to her! I never once verbally abused her. I’m sorry if my tone seemed annoyed when she told me she didn’t have anything I ordered and was still going to charge me the full amount. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I filed a formal complain with Uhaul about her. And was able to go immediately down the street and get another Uhaul from the location at 224 S Saginaw Blvd who was incredibly nice and helpful.

Friendly Staff. Great location. Storage is big. Family owned.
