What happened to my favorite west side restaurant? They had the BEST bacon blue cheese burger in town! Please reopen!

Disappointed that Salsa Fuego is closed and miss it! Really yummy Shrimp Stuffed Avocado that I’ve never seen equaled; great Elote; the Tortas and Tacos were always delicious! We were a bit worried for them when they moved to the larger location; moves are tough on restaurants. I hope Chef Carlos can eventually resurrect this treat.

Drove by and was closed. Called and no answer. Box full. Closed on Mondays or closed for good?

Absolutely fantastic crafting of Mexican food, in a small venue. Initial sevice is speedy as expected in a small place, but you tend to have to wait a bit longer than expected for the entrees to make their way to the table. It’s the only reason I can’t deliver a 5-star. I’ve had the Ft. Worth Burrito, which makes me hometown-proud, and even the Guac Burger. Didn’t think I’d ever eat a burger in a Mexican food restaurant but their crafting of it is mouth-watering. Very juicy and properly seasoned meat, unique vegetable crafting you won’t find in most Mexican themed eateries, and well-proportioned so you won’t leave hungry. A locally owned/ran small business that deserves your visit. Swing by!

The food here is fantastic! Eat here! The end. I don’t want to reiterate all the good things people have said. Yet to go to the new location but the description of the service rings true. This place is more about the food than the service!

I ordered the fuego burger as it said it was covered in cheese. One of the best burgers I have had. All the ingredients tasted very fresh and hand prepared not frozen and flashed fried. They make home made onion rings that are all scratch made to order. They are the beez kneez.

Owner either micromanages or is too cheap to hire a pro wait staff and tries to do it all himself, seems arrogant at times; leads to very poor service. seems very arrogant at times, a far cry from when we first met him starting out at the smaller location down the street. Had the stuffed avocado which was decent but should have been served with some chips or a few tortillas, so we had to ask for some since they dont give you any unless you ask; then we waited, waited some more then waited a little more till we finally got a small bowl of chips. then i had brisket«tacos» three tortillas with some shredded brisket plopped on them. A small cup of onions on the side. some Pico or cheese or even a side of rice or beans would have made them a little more appealing so I settled and asked the waiter for a little cilantro to counter act some of the saltiness. Probably won’t go back.

Love this place and was glad to be back this way to have the ahi tuna nachos. They’re in a bigger place and the staff needs to get bigger but food is great. Evidently they had a burger review in the paper that is bringing in a lot of traffic as well. A must try but you better have time.

Awesome food! Very tasty! Plenty of vegetarian options too. I’ve been here several times and never had any issues with the service. This is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants!

If I could give this place no stars I most definitely would. Maybe even negative 5 stars. Please save your time and money. Wish we would’ve gone to a McDonald instead. Waited at the front door for almost 10 minutes then waited for drinks for another 15 minutes. Food came out and was way overcharged for what you receive. We were starving and decided to eat the awful food received rather than starve. When they mean Guacamole burger. That is literally all you get, a small spoon of guacamole, a patty, and two pieces of bread, unless you want to pay extra for every little thing. While waiting another 20 minutes for the check we witnessed 4 sets of customers walk out after waiting well over 20 minutes just to be seated. And never once was checked on or given refills on our water. Unprofessional dress, employees, and service. Foodies beware. Do NOT let the name and interior design fool you.

Excellent food but they are NOT equipped to handle the larger crowds in their new larger space. I find it hard to recommend a place where I have to wait 15 minutes both to have more order taken and to get my check. My water was never filled. The food was fresh, but less tasty than usual… missing ingredients… perhaps due to the cilantro shortage? No explanation offered. I didn’t mind the wait for food as it was a crowded lunch hour, but staffing MUST be improved for this to be a go to restaurant when I’m on this side of town. And fortunately, it was relatively cool outside because the AC was out. Ugh.

Food was very good but service was poor. Long time to have order taken, ran out of water several times, way too long to get check and have it worked. Very«I don’t care» atmosphere with the staff.

Don’t think, just go here. Salsa Fuego was rated Top 5 Mexican food in Texas by Texas Monthly several years back and for good reason. The queso is a must. Don’t kid yourself and go for the bowl instead of a cup. The guacamole is also solid. Chef Carlos did a great job creating a menu with unique items as well as the classic Mexican dishes. The quesadillas, chicken fajitas, enchiladas and chili rejanos are especially delicious. The burger is phenomenal! Also, Salsa Fuego has one of the best rib eye steaks in DFW. The Tilapia dish comes in a special sauce that is the perfect compliment. I can’t say enough good things about the food here. I could talk about each menu item. Everything is worth trying. The owners are so nice and will bend over backwards to make sure you have a good experience. The interior of the new location is very nice and has two cable TVs and a large bar.

As always, the food is awesome. The new space is bigger but because there are more tables and there seems to be the same small wait staff– service is slow. I consider going to Salsa Fuego like taking the train. You can’t be in a hurry but you will enjoy the ride. Clearly this establishment is a labor of love for the owner and his family and it is always worth the wait when you get the mouth-watering food!

They moved from the tiny place they were in so there’s A LOT more room to eat and a lot nicer atmosphere but I hope the new rent factor doesn’t diminish the quality of the food I’ve enjoyed for the last few years. I had the chicken fajita’s and they were really good but the Salsa was Outstanding! I support Salsa Fuego All the way!

I’ve only been here once but I’m just gonna start a review for word of advice. This place recently moved a couple buildings down to a bigger location so that they can accommodate bigger groups. Heard that big groups would try to come over on the weekend but they weren’t able to seat them together. Their new location definitely is an upgrade BUT they do not at this time have the staff to accommodate more people! It looks like they just had family running the place. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was only 1 cook in the back but I don’t really know. I came here with my bf and a few of his coworkers. They’ve been several times and tell me you either gotta come right at 11am to beat lunch rush, or come at some random time where there wouldn’t be anybody, and I mean like maybe 1 or 2 other tables but that’s it. We got there at 11:20, and although there were only 3 other tables and 2 people at the bar, we still ended up waiting 20 – 30 min for our order to be taken. We were lucky to at least get drinks right away. I was EXTREMELY frustrated, and it wasn’t because I was hAngry(given I can be quite impatient at times but still). There were groups that came after us that got there orders in before we did! And the reason it took so long is that there was only 2 people waitering and 1 helper to bring food and drinks. They looked rather disorganized too, which just made things take even longer. So why 3 stars instead of 1? Food is good! I ordered the Fuego Burger as recommended by our group and it was suuuuper tasty. Not like other burgers I’ve had in the past. I probably enjoyed it most because 1) Packed with juicy green chiles and CHEESE, 2) had an outer ring of crispy fried CHEESE(which was sooooo good! Like cheese chips!), and 3) it was only $ 5.95(that includes tax!) this burger satisfied my inner fatty as well my inner cheap-ass. I wanted to try the onion rings as I saw in a previous review… but hey brought fries instead, and then the waitress took the fries back… and never brought onion rings :(I wasn’t charged for it at least… So I plan to revisit this place later on in the summer. Maybe give them a month or 2 to hire and train staff. The burgers are cheap so I’m def down for another Fuego Burger. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I’d like to try once service improves. Other entrees on the menu were a little more expensive, like $ 10 – 17. So I will be coming back… just not any time soon.

Amazing burgers for great prices! Go for the house burger with fresh onion rings. Service can be a bit slow so be sure to allocate more time during peak lunch rush.

Really not sure what all the fuss is about for this place. Good service, fair food with no seasoning, very bland. I had the chicken relleno and my husband the beef fajita’s. The guacamole was average and you had to pay for chips and salsa. Will not return. Clean up the women’s bathroom.
