This restaurant goes over and above for good customer service. My husband and I were there a couple days before New Year’s eve. The waiter accidentally spilled an entire IPA beer in my purse, he was very apologetic and brought the manager over. They told me they would do anything they could to make it right whether it be cleaning it or buying me a new purse. That was one stinky beer! When I got home I took my purse to the cleaners and sent Reata the bill. They took care of it immediately. So, not only is the food phenomenal, the drinks phenomenal, but the customer service is better than I’ve seen anywhere. They not only paid for my purse to be cleaned, they also paid for two rounds of drinks and our dessert the night we were there. The general manager Russell made sure to take of us and I really appreciate it. We will be back!!!

Classic cowtown hotel, restaurant and bar, with a fancy spin. Okay, honestly, I didn’t see the hotel or the restaurant, but I spent some time in the downstairs bar yesterday afternoon, with a glass of a local Texas Cab and my work. I had a good time taking in the sights and sounds of all things Texas. Reata has been around forever right? And since i’ve been 21 for 10 years now, I figured it was time I saddle up and give it a ride. Speaking of saddles, they along with, lassos, individualized brands, animal leather and cowhide furniture and décor adorn every nook and cranny of this establishment. There’s a cute little boutique up front, which mostly sells girly Texas wear(the bigger the better). The bar drinks are pretty pricey, mine was the lowest price of red wines at eight dollars a glass. One of the great conveniences of this place of course is the valet parking! Anywhere with a red umbrella you can leave your car, and then have your parking validated on Sundance, including here at the Reata. They’ll return it to you at a variety of locations around the square, which I think it a pretty sweet deal.

I was excited to try Reata after seeing all of the reviews. We came here for a friends birthday dinners for a group of 18 – 20 people. We were seated at 3 different tables instead of a large one. Surprised at this considering how large the restaurant was, were there really not a table/room for us?(Advance reservation was made by party host) Our waiter didn’t take long before taking our drink orders(a plus). 15 minutes in, he brought a plate of butter to each of the three tables. And that was it. I thought bread was going to come out next, but it never did, so we were left with a plate of butter that remained untouched. My husband and I started with the calamari appetizer, the citrus glazed chicken with rosemary honey mustard, and the 16 oz Cowboy ribeye with Cooks Butter. Overall, my husband and I were disappointed with all 3 dishes. The calamari was fried, although it didn’t taste like it. It was very limp and tasted like it had been sitting out. Now for the citrus chicken. The only thing special about the citrus chicken and mashed potatoes was the honey mustard sauce. The chicken looked pan fried with no hint of anything citrusy to it! Without the sauce, this dish is very average. My husbands ribeye was huge! It was very tender and the seasoning was good. I asked how he would rank Reatas steak as compared to other fine dinning restaurant steaks(pappas steakhouse, Eddie v, trulucks, etc) and his response, «ehh». Overall, we were very disappointed by everything that we ordered. Either we chose the wrong things to order or they’re over hyped. Either way, I probably will not be coming back here anytime soon.

If you like views of rooftops, you will LOVE this place. The food selection was limited, over-priced, and seemed to be trying waaaaay too hard. Save yourself $ 40(at least per person before tax). I went with two other people and one out of the 3 of us gave it an okay rating, and the other is leaving sick from the food. Super disaappointed that the locals recommeded this place to us. On the plus side, our server Chelsea was great. Sadly, a server can’t fix bad food, and outrageous prices.

Great food and good service. Happy Hour is great and ambiance is great… especially upstairs on the deck!

I recently brought my husband there for our tenth anniversary dinner. We heard that the steaks there were the best but we were really disappointed. The 16 ounce bone in ribeyes were of poor quality, and at almost $ 50 each, definitely not worth the price. A lot of the food here sounded really pretentious but we tried to be adventurous and ordered the Pecan Scallops Reata. They were a soupy mess and came out cold. The service here also leaves a lot to be desired. We had to wait 20 minutes for our reserved table and the staff seemed overworked. Definitely not coming back.

I decided that the perfect time to try out one of Fort Worth’s staples of fine dinning was January 17th, my eighth wedding anniversary. I can honestly say that the hype was very much so deserved. We started with margaritas, very strong ones I might add. Then we ordered the crab stuffed jalepenos and the jalepeno and cilantro soup. The portion size for both were enormous! We literally could have stopped there and been very satisfied. For our entrées we had the bacon wrapped lamb and the redfish. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the sauce on the fish was amazing! All told this place was pretty impressive and weighed against other fine dining experiences it was very reasonably priced.

Welcoming someone to town? This is a great place to go! The Texas theme is implemented nicely from the authentic equestrian wall pieces to the gargantuan portions. The restaurant has a great rooftop where you can enjoy your meal at a table or a drink at the bar. Everything I have tried here has been excellent, including the desserts! Why only 4 stars? While the wait staff is usually pretty on the ball, they can come off a bit snooty at times. Beyond the snooty vibe, my last waiter felt like a straight up sales man. For example, he asked my table of 6 people 7 times if we would like a soup or salad before our meal… By the 5th time everyone was kind of just looking at each other in a confused way trying not to laugh too loud. «No thanks…» However, I’m willing to overlook some of the staff’s quirks because I love this place!

Came here when my sister and her hubbs visited from NY over the summer. Sat on the rooftop and had an amazing meal. At night all the buildings light up and it’s magnificent. The steak here is delicious! I got the billionaire margarita and the steak and lobster. Amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant. They also have a large room on the rooftop that is enclosed for special occasions.

So disappointed with the Reata. Management called on Friday, 2 days prior to our annual Christmas brunch to let us know THEY had made a mistake and our yearly Christmas brunch reservation would not be available. This after we have had our annual Christmas brunch there for over 20 years. Yes — we were there when they were located on the 35th floor of the Bank One Building and returned when it was left in ruins by the tornado. That is what loyal customers do. How could they treat us this way? We all met in our room and were then kicked out by the waiter after a certain time period so they could make room for another party even though we had a reservation well in advance — months in advance to be exact. Management did not even have the decency to have another room available to move us; we ate, ordered our desert and then the waiter came and let us know we had a choice: Either take our desert to go or we could just leave. Wow — what great customer service. Is this how you treat loyal customers? We made our reservation — Management messed up and we have to be kicked out all because they could not admit to their mistake. Hasta luego Reata — if this is how you treat loyal customers, then I guess we will not be returning and have to find a new place for the next 20+ years.

Do not come here with a large group. Seriously you will waste half your day. So I was in about a month ago for brunch on Sunday. There were 20 people in our party as we had stayed downtown for a wedding and we had a server dedicated to our table. When you dine with such a large number of people you expect things to move slowly. After about 30 minutes of sitting down we order our food. Oh and good luck sharing menus because we were given one lunch menu per person then ONEBRUNCHMENUFORTHEENTIRETABLE. I literally took a picture of it on my phone so I could read the menu without holding everyone else up. Anyways, we get our food in a timely fashion except for the plate of my friend sitting across the table from me. Long story short, our waitress forgot to put in her order. The rest of us were nearly done eating by the time she got her plate. Okay fair enough, we all make mistakes. After asking for drink refills and finally our checks the real fun begins. I am not kidding or exaggerating when I tell you that it took over 1.5 hours to bring us our checks. Our waitress evidently had never taken care of a large party before and had to try and split up checks at the end of the meal. I worked in the restaurant industry for 6 years prior to graduating from college and I nearly offered to work the computer for her because she had no clue what she was doing. After an hour the manager finally got involved and tried to help sort things out. She was extremely rude and visibily irritated at the situation. Not only did she treat the waitress like shit, she also yelled as us stating, «we are doing the best we can» in a nasty tone. A couple of us walked to the bar to catch some football games and when I came back to my seat I finally found my bill. To my surprise after a 90+ minute wait for tabs a 20% gratuity had been added. EXCUSEME?! I can’t be the only one who thinks this is ridiculous given the circumstances. I questioned the manager about this and she stated(again, ever so politely) that it was company policy and she’d «be happy to take it off.» I declined stating that I didn’t have another hour to sit here for them to learn how to work the computer. At the end of it the Reata ended up paying for 2 peoples’ meals because even after most of us had tabbed out they still hadn’t received their checks. The food at this place is not special enough to put up with this bullshit. This was arguably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Very cool atmosphere and steak was alright but I like my rib-eyes thick and these were pretty thin. It was cooked correctly and came with some good butter. Probably wont be back. With so many steak houses to choose from I usually am only a repeat on 5 star places.

Service was great. One of the bartenders suggested a pickle martini for something different, elk sausage with jalapeño grits, and of course I couldn’t turn down the steak and lobster tail. Banana bread pudding for dessert, great service, fun bartender, and the restaurant décor is gorgeous.

This place is amazing! I was visiting the area in a business trip and someone referred me to this restaurant. Great recommendation! Love the rooftop area. Had dinner and dessert. I ordered the salmon with rice and corn which was great, but the dessert… omg yum! I wish I could have tried it all! Overall happy with the food and ambiance. Also, what an amazing staff that works there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Not to mention the service was quick, my food came out so fast. Would recommended this place and will be back again!

Ask for Sharon. Ok, this was the best ribeye steak I have had in my life. Truth. And try the bacon-wrapped, crabmeat-stuffed jalapeños appetizer. Literally the second best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.

I have been ordering catering for events from Reata for years, and last night I finally had the chance to dine in the restaurant. We sat on the roof and enjoyed a lovely Sunday evening. Our server Rian(«Rian with an I») was incredibly attentive and frequently brought drink refills. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had a great banter with my father. I would definitely say that the evening was more of an experience than just a meal. Rian also made a compelling argument for why we should get dessert — bring out a tray of examples and explaining each in detail. Our meals were delicious and the portions were huge. But why only a 4 star rating and not 5? Two rather small reasons. First, we asked the hostess for rooftop seating. At 5pm on a Sunday, the place was mostly empty so it wasn’t a problem. The hostess informed the seater, a small blonde girl with long hair and no name tag, that we would like rooftop. Instead, she took is into the restaurant on the main floor. Part way there, I kindly asked if we could please sit on the roof. She sighed and said«Ok» and took us upstairs. She seemed incredibly put out by having to be inconvenienced to ride the elevator up with us to our table. A little later on, she brought another couple to the roof and sat them in the middle. They asked if they could move towards the edge so they would have a better view and again she sighed. After moving them, I saw her turn around and roll her eyes as she walked away. It was incredibly unprofessional — especially since it was a very slow night and swapping tables should have been no problem at all. The only other issue was that I ordered my steak medium and it came out gray with no pink at all. I wasn’t going to send it back since there was nothing wrong with it but I was surprised at how overdone it was.

Gigantic portions! Lots of fried and creamy things! So much meat! To many of you this probably sounds great, but it’s a bit much for my west coast self! We had the appetizer sampler — things I tasted were mostly good, although some were a bit bland, but everything was fried and meaty. I had the citrus crusted chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. The chicken was pretty good, as were the potatoes. The green beans were a bit oily for being the vegetable. I ate maybe half my meal. Seems to fit the bill for a touristy stop to explore Texas. I will say the upstairs patio was quite nice and completely comfortable with the fans and the breeze, even in the Texas heat.

First meal in Texas! Reata is a steakhouse located in Sundance Square, an easy 1 – 2 blocks from the fountains and plaza. We came here for brunch/lunch and were welcomed by their warm and hospitable staff decked in cowboy boots and plaid shirts or vests. Reata feels like it’s a part-restaurant and part-museum with their beautifully designed layout and interior. The hostess led us past a scholarly looking lounge and multiple glass displays of Wild West costume pieces and horses saddles before we reached our table. We had a window view looking out onto the streets and also of a large oil painting of cowboys on their horses. There’s a purplish-gray skinned James Dean cowboy figure by the restrooms that scared the heck out of me. Our waiter, Joey, was incredible. He made sure we enjoyed our first Texan food experience. We ordered the 4 oz. Chicken Fried Steak(CFS) off their brunch menu and the 14 oz. ribeye from the regular menu. Apparently, CFS is a popular Texan item. It tastes like the name — breaded white chicken meat, similar to a huge chicken nugget but less crispy and less salty. We loved the lightly peppered thin gravy juice that was over the CFS. The home fries were amazing. I usually don’t like potatoes because the inside is too thick and mushy but at Reata, each piece had a thin and crunchy outer layer enclosing a very light potato filling. The real winner was the ribeye. Pink, juicy, and tender without any fat! We were allowed to substitute the string beans and mashed potatoes that came with the ribeye for their roasted asparagus and French fries. Our meal was delicious and filling. We did, however, taste butter in our food so that may be the secret ingredient. We were about to skip dessert until Joey presented us with their dessert menu, which is a display plate of their actual desserts! We went with the dessert tacos. With a mimosa(only $ 3!) and sprite, our total came out to be $ 70 before tip. Great price for such a wonderful meal! In conclusion, service, food, and décor were all solid and on point. They made us feel right at home and filled our empty stomachs until they were bloated. What a great welcome to Texas!

I actually came after rejecting some of the worst barbecue I have ever experienced from another local establishment. Reata was recommended by locals, so I had hopes of a semi-empty stomach being satisfied. Service was phenomenal. As a solo traveler, feeling like you are far away from family all the time is tough. The staff did such a great job of just taking time to talk to me, making me feel connected even though I had just stumbled off a plane from Chicago. I can’t say enough about the value of connection. The food overall was good. Biscuits a bit dry, but comp bread is comp bread. I enjoyed the chicken chillies relleno, which overall were presented well. I wish the meat had a more aggressive/distinct seasoning; the corn chowder on the side was so dead on that the rice was utterly unnecessary. Beautiful presentation, just gotta kick the protein flavor profile up a notch to make this five stars for me, because the view, the tables, and the service reflect excellence at Reata.

I had a spectacular dinner with friends at this awesome restaurant. The carne asada enchiladas are to die for and the service was superb(shout out to our awesome server Sharon). I will be back and I will be telling others about Reata.
