I love the West 7th area of FW… and happy to venture into Mash’d. First impressions are everything. Patio was very quaint. Too hot for me and my hubby wanted to watch the US Open. Soooo-we sat in the bar area. No one greeted us… I even went to the bathroom and came back… still no one greeted us. I had to go up to the bartender and ask if we are allowed to dine in the bar area. He gave us menus and said he would send someone out. He said he was«about» to come over, since we were waiting. RIGHTTTTTT. Anyhow. The first server was a guy who was somewhat«slow» aka«impaired» like drunk or high not sure which. He took our drink order and went on his way. Then a lady server took over. She was friendly and helped answer our questions about the menu. The manager came by as well and was helpful with appetizer selection. We chose the pot o’ goat. Oh my word. Talk about a treat. Warm goat cheese with jalapeño marmalade served with warm crostinis. Oh yeah! I ordered the sangria and the hubs ordered one of their draft beers. THENNNNN we tried their fruit infused moonshine flight. Wow! Talk about warming your belly right up. We enjoyed the drunken shrimp in a bag, the avocado salad with steak… and the pot of chocolate for dessert. Everything was lovely… and can’t wait to go back to try their queso and more adult beverages.

Super chill and love the indoor/outdoor seating choices especially the HUGE patio! The food is phenomenal, with the exception of the crab and shrimp volcano, it’s sweet, too sweet and sweet and seafood just don’t go together for me. The hot dogs are so cute, tiny and steamed with chili cheese sauce on them and come with matchstick fries. The drinks are unusual, but something for every taste. Bartenders are busy but friendly and keep your water glass filled(hydration is key). TVs everywhere, great music playing and lots of people watching. If you like bourbon, this is definitely a must try!

This restaurant is more of a 3.5÷5 overall than a 3. I love the location and the atmosphere of the restaurant and I would give 4⁄5 for location and atmosphere. I liked the food ok, for the most part. I ordered the turkey burger, which was so filling and could have been so tasty; however, the it was so salty, other flavors were drowned out. The patty was pretty salty and the pickles(which I normally love), made the entire sandwich even more salty. Besides that, burger would’ve been great; so many quality ingredients inside, just so salty(3⁄5). I do like that the place is gluten friendly and has a gluten free menu! I would come back again and try a few more things to see if I have better luck next time!

Go find this restaurant, order the chicken and biscuits, and put it in your face. There will be a foodgasm and you will thank me.(And if you are in Ft Worth and get lucky enough to have Wendy take care of you, your whole week will be better just from the experience.)

The atmosphere was great, the servers were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Even though it was a busy evening on Mother’s Day, the service was still prompt and courteous, and the food arrived at the table hot and well prepared. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food, especially the chicken fried pepperoni and pot of goat appetizers. The entrees all received high marks, with the exception of the bulgogi tacos that I ordered, which were well presented, but flavorless, bland, and not nearly spicy enough. The highlight of the bar’s offering is the moonshine selection, and that is clearly their focus. However, it would have been nice to see more effort spent on the beer menu. Considering the impressive amount of high-quality craft beer available in the Fort Worth area, it was disappointing to see such little attention paid to the beer selection. Overall, the experience was positive, and I’ll likely return and even recommend Mash’d to a friend, but it would be nice to see them improve their bulgogi and beer offerings.

Fantastic burgers and super chill environment! We went on a walk around this area and this place had amazingly cheap mimosas, so we decided to have lunch. The Rebellious burger is a double patty, sunny side up egg, bacon and cheese deliciousness! Our waiter, Jackie, was super friendly and the restaurant environment was very fun. Prices on the menu are on par with the area and the food is worth it!

Great place to chill and people watch, definitely need to sit out on the patio weather permitting. It is shaded later in the day, so I’d move outside unless it’s raining or freezing. Great service, not too cowded. The Bluemoon Mojito was the best mojito I’ve ever had. Forget rum: Moonshine baby! The Pineapple Bomb drink failed miserably as a follow-up drink, and my server was gracious enough to no-charge me, so I guzzled a 2nd mojito. I only was in the mood for an app, and the Serious Queso with Chicken did not disappoint. Great texture and taste, chips were nice, hot, and crisp. Top 3 queso for me. The chicken was good, but not great; it had a nice crispy crust though. Make sure you get a side of Jalapeño Marmalade for dipping the chicken. I’ll be back to try more food and drinks. Not too crazy priced given the area.

I’m here all week at a convention and after having Texas BBQ two days in a row, I was looking for something more contemporary. I wanted to be in a fun location with fun drinks but not a chain restaurant. Enter Mash’d. We’re a party of 8 and we’re seated quickly with no problem.(yeah, that’s not happening in New York City) Everyone is looking around and guy back slaps are happening. Great job finding this place!(Love Unilocal) Our waitress? She was super sweet but also very savvy. I notice upsells when I see them and even though she was calling all the guys«sweetie», she was bumping up the check average. Like a professional. It’s not a problem, I dig when wait staff are good at their jobs. What I liked about this place is, they use Moonshine for their cocktails. Now I never had moonshine but dagnabit, I knew I had to be drinking some moonshine on this trip! Moonshine is a neutral spirit so its easy to mix and give some crazy flavors. Our waitress was explaining all of the different drinks, it was exhausting but she was spot on. They all ordered blueberry and apple pie drinks, I ordered something a little subtile, the Agave Heat. The Agave Heat is made with Don Julio silver, jalapeño infused agave nectar, lime, cilantro and lemon himalayan salt. Man, this drink was kick azz! We’re all drinking and having fun, so far so good. I ordered for my main entrée the Bulgogi Taco trio. Listen to this: sliced & pan-grilled akaushi flat iron, marinated in garlic & soy sauce, bibb lettuce, carrots, cilantro and lemon rice. The tacos were insane! Filled my belly and tasted amazing. Our waitress comes over, dessert? Heck no, I said I want moonshine! I told the guys, I’m buying shots of moonshine! Our waitress smiles and brings over moonshine shots. Very smooth, not like your drinking gasoline which was very surprising. You have the one guy who wants to be different and ordered apple pie moonshine shots. They were ok, I liked mine better. If you’re an out of towner or local and want a fun place to eat, drink and just have a nice time? Get Mash’d!

I’ve been to Fort Worth a few times and found this gem during a Christmas light show on 7th. The restaurant is located in a well developed area saturated with restaurants and places to shop. The area is clean and well lit. Parking can be a bummer. We picked Mash’d because of the drink menu. They make their own moonshine. First visit I had a dreamsiscle which was one of the most deceiving drinks I’ve ever ordered. It was potent. It was also the coldest drink I’ve ever had. I think they use dry ice. Sadly they do not sell it anymore. Boooooo! We came back to Mash’d specifically so I could order the dreamsiscle but no… they took it off the menu. So I tried a Russian hillbilly and a pineapple bomb. Both were potent. Service was decent. Not amazing. I was tortured by the bored hostess with the sloppy green hair looking at us. She just had this sloppy appearance. She looked thoroughly bored and disinterested. I let her bug me way too much. The server was friendly and checked in frequently. The food was ok. I normally don’t like going into food. It’s too subjective ya know. We ordered a shrimp and crab appetizer that came in a little cast iron skillet. The lemon rice was moist. The use real crab. I’d order it again. For my entrée I had a chicken parmesan with chorizo rice. Their take on parmesan is different. If you are expecting italian then skip this dish. It’s way off. The chicken is topped with bell peppers and cheese. It really doesn’t add to the flavor it is kinda messy and the cheese hardened like cement. The rice wasn’t special. It was white rice which was super moist that had some chorizo dumped on top. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that. Don’t call it chorizo rice. It’s just white rice with chorizo on top. Anyway it was good. I’d call that dish mexican parmesan chicken. It was less italian and more mexican. We will probably visit just for drinks and appetizer next time. They really do have an interesting drink menu. They do not skimp on the alcohol and the prices are decent.

I’ve been anxiously waiting to try Mash’d after hearing rave reviews about it from friends! It was incredibly packed upon arriving. We’d made reservations so thankfully we didn’t have to wait. They allow a ridiculous amount of people to stand by the bar making it uncomfortable for those who are seated at tables eating dinner. Starting with the appetizer, this was the only let down of the meal. It had a strange texture and was just blah. The pretzel bread slices came out burned, which I was pretty shocked they even put them on a plate. Wasn’t the best way to start the meal. We ordered the deconstructed egg salad to share, now this was AMAZING! The soft boiled eggs, brussel sprouts & dressing were perfection. On to the entrée — my husband had a burger & fries. He said it was pretty good, not the best he’d ever had. I had the grilled shrimp with brussel sprout lemon rice. It was really good! As for drinks, we had a «jolly rancher» it was damn good! Overall the dinner was wonderful and we’ll go back. Hopefully on an evening that it’s not quite so crowded.

My fiancé and I went here for dinner; it was on a Monday and so we were seated immediately. I have a feeling that this place gets packed on weekends, so I recommend that you make reservations for Friday and Saturday. CHIPS&QUESO: Not all chips and queso are created equal, yo. And this chips and queso is of the superior kind. You kind of stir in all the ingredients(pepper relish, garlic, chorizo~ yummy) into the queso, and dip the(seasoned) tortilla chips in and enjoy. SALMONSANDWICH: I generally don’t care for salmon since many times they’re overcooked and dry tasting; however, this salmon was moist and flavorful. Came with fries, really skinny seasoned fries… delightful. BABYBACKSANDWICH: Hard to mess up ribs. Juicy rib meat picked off the bone and slathered on a sandwich~ nice! Also came with a nice slaw and spicy peppers. Just a heads up~ when the menu says that the sandwich comes with«spicy peppers», spicy they are! I was perspiring a bit(granted, i’m sensitive to spicy foods), though it was tasty no doubt. Just good ol’(new) American kind of food, done flavorfully and done in a way that, though many of these kinds of dishes are staples of American-style restaurants all over the place, Mash’d just does it in a more memorable way. Really enjoyed it!

Fried Chicken is the bomb diggity! But you do have to have it fresh there. The first time I ordered to go. By the time I got home, it was okay… but good enough I wanted to try it again. So we came here Saturday for lunch with our dogs. Pet friendly patio!!! They even brought out a bowl of water for our dogs. So sweet and prepared! There were about 4 – 5 other tables with their dogs too. So we ordered the Serious Queso and Fried Chicken to share. The queso was seriously good! hahah how many people have said that? It had chorizo which made it salty and tasty. Although the saltiness could have been the freshly seasoned tortilla chips that it came with– i love the seasoned salt on it. The Fried chicken… ! When our waiter brought it out and placed my plate down, I asked him for an extra plate so we can share… Little did I know… He had it already split on two plates and the amount each of us got was A LOT for the both of us to have leftovers to take home. We were full after the queso and chicken, we couldn’t even have dessert. The fried chicken was very tender to where you could cut it with a fork. The breading is very crispy and delicious! I want this fried chicken again as I am writing this review. The jalapeño marmalade was a bit interesting and pretty good. With my leftovers, I used BBQ sauce because I didn’t have anymore of the marmalade, which the chicken was still good. Since it was brunch hours, they had $ 2 mimosa. So yay! Needless to say, I will be back for more chicken and queso…

I came here on a Saturday night to try it out while in the Fort Worth area, and felt a warm welcome from the moment that I walked through the door. The service was definitely nice, attentive, and quick on their feet! I started the night off with a glass of wine. All of their appetizers looked amazing; however, the avocado bomb salad looked too good to pass, so we chose to share that as our appetizer. The salad was great and had big chunks of avocado to satisfy my craving, while having just the right amount of zest. For my entrée, I ordered the Turkey Burger with the Caesar salad as my side. I’ll start with the Caesar salad first; it was good and pleasing. But, I’m not sure where to begin on that juicy turkey burger. The burger was so moist and flavorful. It was easily the best turkey burger I think I’ve ever had! Even the whole wheat bun was great. I highly recommend it! As if the night couldn’t have gotten any better, I was lucky enough to try a bite of the Chicken Sandwich and O-M-G it was the absolute best. I am not a fan of fried chicken, but this chicken was light and so delicious. I also had some of the French Fries with the house made ketchup, and all I have to say is, ORDERIT! Since the meals were so satisfying, we felt that we needed to try one of their desserts Out of the three options that we had to choose from, we decided on the Scotch Cake. It didn’t blow my socks off, but it was good and I have nothing bad to say about it. Overall, I had a great time here. The energy was exciting, the service was good, and the food was amazing!

Came here for drinks and dessert. So this place is pretty new. Came here around 9pm on a Friday. Sat at the bar. We were given a menu right away. They have a large array of cocktails. I didn’t know which one to choose because I wanted to try them all! I end up getting pineapple bomb which comes in a mason jar and chopped pineapples at the base. My boyfriend got a moonshine flight. I’m not a fan of moonshine, they are all pretty strong to me, and they are served warm. My boyfriend enjoyed it, he loves flights, and they offer 3 diff moonshine flights. We ordered dessert. The bartender suggested it. I forgot the name but it’s basically chocolate pudding with pistachios and whoop cream. Very easy you could make at home. Next time I’ll come here and try their foods!

Whoa what a great concept and place. We came here for the Happy Hour offered 7 days a week plus a reverse happy hour from 9 to close! There were five in our party and we tried lots of different drinks. All of them were really good with the two stand outs being the Pineapple Bomb and the Jolly Rancher. Both had rave reviews and didn’t miss the mark. We also ordered an appetizer, the queso, and it was phenominal. No one had a complaint and all gobbled it up until it was gone quick. The house made chips were great as well and we snacked on the leftovers as we went.

I’ve been to Mash’d 3 times now, and I’m definitely more and more impressed each time I go. Food — 4⁄5 1. Chicken sandwich — This is a fried chicken sandwich and comes with a literal wire mesh basket of fries. The portion was HUGE. The sandwich was probably 4 inches tall and filled with a great cole slaw(no overpowering mayonnaise taste). The fries were crunchy shoe string fries, a tad too greasy. It came with those great homemade tomato based sauce. 2. Shrimp and snow crab combo — This was great. The shrimp was already peeled, and everything was perfectly cooked. They were tender and not that rubbery texture when overdone. I got the cajun season which was great. It was the perfect amount of spiciness. The sauce was divine. It was a tangy tomato based sauce that paired well with the shrimp. 3. Serious queso — We subbed the chorizo sausage with grilled chicken. The quest was flavorful, but the texture was very reminiscent of velveeta. The chips were great. My boyfriend loved that they were seasoned. I personally thought they were a little too salty. 4. Kid’s mac and cheese — This was $ 4 and very small. It also tasted like boxed mac and cheese. Service — 5⁄5 During all three visits, everyone has been attentive and very helpful with the menu. The last visit was exceptional though. We didn’t end up eating the mac and cheese since we didn’t like it, and the waitress took notice and removed it from our check. We didn’t even mention it. I thought was that was great. She really took notice of us. Overall, Mash’d serves great and extremely affordable food. I love that they make their own homemade sauces. It makes their food much more special. I definitely hope they’re here to stay.

I’m going to echo the other reviews and say get a pineapple bomb before anything else. It’s one of the best drinks I’ve had. It’s infused in house with vanilla and had little bits of pineapple in it! The drinks are served in cute little mason jars. It’s so good I forgot it contained moonshine and was suckling it down. Pineapple bits getting stuck in my straw brought me back to reality. I had two! Although it was good, it’s full of sugar and killed my stomach. The walk back to the parking garage felt like an eternity. It felt like I was walking slow motion in quick sand. I had the weirdest dreams last night. One, I was having lunch with Unilocalers, they all turned into zombies and started chasing me! I blame it on the Moonshine. :) They have a ton of drink choices that all sound great. Cherry Limeade! My husband had the Blue Moon Mojito. Not as good as my Pineapple bombs. We started off with the Serious Queso. It was different, but good. It was on the sweet side and they give you some big ol thick chips. I had the fried chicken. It was really good. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The husband had the Pepper Smash’d tacos with Shrimp. He didn’t really care for it. I tasted it. it wasn’t bad. I think shrimp was the wrong choice and a little heavy on the tomato jam. If only W 7th Street was built up how it is now 6 years ago. Pre kids, I would have lived in one of those apartments and be getting Smash’d at Mash’d every night.

Moonshine! So much moonshine! We shuffled in after a Unilocal event, wanting to kill time before our movie. The place appeared to be packed, but we were seated immediately. I floving flove the tables– smooth, wood, picnic style tables with fake succulents. I felt like we were dining al fresco. Sweetie Claudia introduced herself and gave us the concept rundown of Mash’d. Local as often as possible– and moonshine goes into as menu items as conceivable. They have dozens of moonshine brands and quite a few they infuse in house. Order a pineapple bomb– do it as soon as your server greets you. It has pineapple and vanilla infused moonshine that makes it almost taste like pineapple cake. Its heavenly. We also got a flight– jeezus all the moonshine is strong– averaging around 110 proof. We turned two of the shots into drinks and just took the others as shots after deciding sipping was not an option! We shared the preserved lemon shrimp and stole bits from Khanhs fried chicken. The skrimps had a little kick and we’re snuggled into a bed of lemony rice and squash blossoms. I could have eaten it all-in was so good. My homies chicken was pretty bomb too– but it wasn’t fried pieces of chicken– more like butterflied breasts, but still juciy. The mashed potatoes underneath it stole the show. I usually have a good palate and can pick out a few ingredients in dishes, but this was just full of voodoo rainbows. Yum.

Though I get the reason why the owners call this venue Mash’d, it really should be known as «Smashed», particularly if you’ve had some of their drink choices. Located on Crockett Street within the West 7th corridor, Mash’d has to be one of the few venues in Texas that serve moonshine. At least, the legal moonshines. There is roughly a dozen + moonshine choices from the very sweet & fruity ones that taste like Apple Martinis, to the ones that hard that hard, bitter taste such as the American Original and white lightning choices. Some drinks went down really smooth, yet some of the others, such as the AO and white lightning, smelled like pure gasoline, and were strong enough to put hair on Caitlyn Jenner’s chest. Welcome to the moonshine drinking experience! For this evening, I tried a moonshine flight, which was a choice of four moonshines within shot glass quantities. All four moonshines were part of a «build-your-own» type of flight, and the cost came to roughly $ 16 and change. Its highly advisable to sip these drinks, as opposed to swallowing them like tequila(you will be on the floor passed out). The proof values are between 100 – 110 per moonshine. The décor within the interior presents very, very well. In fact, I would return to this location for date night with the Mrs. The bar area is quite large, and extends into the outdoor patio. I thought the latter was interesting, considering that on a steamy weekday evening, why sit outside and have your date sweat through her dress and thong when you can chill out inside? Customer service was excellent. In fact, one of the best experiences that I’ve had in quite some time at a bar/restaurant set up. My server, a 22-yr old female TCU grad, developed a funny rapport with me that was both snarky, yet professional at the same time. Kinda hard to explain. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself, as well as the comedy hour that ensued while the two of us exchanged veiled jokes, barbs and snappy comebacks at each other’s expense(yes, we kept it PG-13ish). Of course, I left a 25% tip. If I didn’t have to use my remaining cash to purchase food to calm my drinking buzz, it would’ve easily been a 50% tip. She was just that good in making her recommendations, and genuinely amusing. This venue validates parking, so have your ticket handy if you wound up going over the 2-hour free parking limit within the El Paseo parking garage. The parking garage is directly across the street. If you miss it, you are way too drunk. Better ask Mash’d to call a cab for you. Altogether, this venue is good enough for me to return to. Thank you, Mash’d!
