eggs Benedict n german pancake Great Foodie Breakfast is hard to come by. Okay breakfasts are very common. I’m not picky but I don’t rave without merit.

This meal was to die for. Fried chicken that cooked to perfection and tenderloin tips(I have never had better). If you are in the area stop in and enjoy. Ask for Allasan(with all a’s) for a server. She made my otherwise crappy day that much better. She rocked!

Great little spot and a Fort Worth institution. Fresh diverse menu and great salads. Great lunch crowd and friendly service, also easy parking. Check them out on a weekday for a delicious bite!

Lucille’s has the best eggs benny in Fort Worth. I wish they would serve it more than just one day a week but that probably would not be good for my waistline. Even if you don’t order the eggs benny, they have a great menu. My brothers love the juevos rancheros and my grandad loves the taco salad. Great food and great service. There will probably be a wait when you get there for Sunday brunch. A lot of other people like Lucilles brunch, too.

The food was ok. The prices are on the expensive side for the food being ok. Portions are big but again, the food is just ok. Country Fried Steak claims to be best in the state — it was good. Gumbo was ok(I didn’t eat it all). Alfredo was ok.(See a theme?) I won’t run back anytime soon. Price to flavor ratio simply isn’t there. If you’re over 60, it seems to be the place to go. Most of the patrons had a good 10 – 20 years on us. And it had a good crowd of them so there’s that.

The BEST Lobster Bisque I have ever had! Genie waited on us and she was spectacular. Very attentive and the steak and salmon(surf and turf) was amazing! This will always be one of my favorite restaraunts and so worth the 30 min drive from Dallas to get there. Love you guys.

Ate here last night with friends. Food was good, service was good. Came back today for some appetizers and a few drinks, the bartender was definitely nothing worth writing home about. Not attentive at all we had to call him, after being ignored for a minute or so and no one at the bar, except the hostess he was hitting on. The bloody taste like tomatoes juice even ask to put another shot of vodka. Completely ignored us kept hooking up with the hostess at the end of the bar. needless to say one drink and we were out.

Saturday and the place is packed. Waited at bar and not quick on drinks while waiting on tables, but nice pours. Salad was doused in dressing so ask for on the side if concerned, but a good house salad. Tried the fried chicken, light crust and flavorful chicken, but had to ask for gravy. My wife had the steak but felt oversalted. Would come back but maybe ask for adjustments. Service was a little slower than we liked. We did like quieter atmosphere.

This place is a pretty solid Fort Worth staple. Wonderful atmosphere and great service. I prefer the Ruben or their chicken fried steak. Also, their lobster fest is pretty spot on.

Visited Lucile’s again this past weekend before leaving Fort Worth. Boyfriend and I went on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. We had the Beignets to start. I ordered a manmosa(big mimosa) and my boyfriend got a juice. Let me just say the manmosa was awesome! The ambience of Luciles is warm and comforting it is an environment that makes you want to stay and relax. We ordered eggs Benedict and had them specialize it so that it was more of a San Francisco style eggs Benedict(with avocado and tomato added on). So scrumptious! We just shared that plate because it is a lot of food and we had already had the beignets for an appetizer. This all was the right amount of breakfast for us. Looking forward to visiting again sometime soon!

This was my first time at Lucile’s and I was pleasantly surprised. Lunch was good, the service was fast(but not too fast) and the atmosphere was great for a business lunch. The pizza was excellent and my friend had the shrimp salad. I highly recommend Lucile’s

Haven’t been there yet? Should you ask why… Well, two words — Lobster Bisque. This salve is creamy and addictive, not holding back on the juicy bits of lobster and dreamy flavor. This is easily the 100th plus time I’ve been there, having been a staple to my preferred fall cuisine, and as long as it remains in its unique slice of Camp Bowie, I shall return. You go for 1 bowl. Your body cries for another. Your smile for the day gets its payment at the end of every bite. Not a fan of lobster or bisque? Go for brunch, but DO call ahead, because the whole Ridglea /Rivercrest area is aware of it’s power, and the wait can be intimidating. Their classic Eggs Benedict nails it, the Dutch Baby deliciously keeps the Ol’ South Restaurant’s version on its toes, but the Banana Nut French Toast is the fuel for the nap you’re looking for! Go for dinner, sure, but this place shines on Brunch… During it’s Lobsterama time frame(October — November), the shine is bright during every hour of operation. That’s why this review is now… That’s why you’re reading this now, because your mouth and tummy want it. They have brought you here to read, so go, and return this favor by bringing them there to eat. Thank me after the nap.

Our experiences at Lucile’s vacillates between 3 and 5 stars, so I’ll average it out to 4, and yes I’m a fan. Many tasty options, including a classic Bananas Foster and a tasty Cherries Jubiliee for dessert. Note that these two deserts are Friday and Saturdays after 5pm only. Lucile’s is our go to place when meeting with friends who live down that way off Camp Bowie. I’d say we hit hit it a couple times a year, randomly, but there is one time we always go: During Lobsterama!(October and November, when the crustaceans are more plentiful, and thus less expensive). This was the case on our most recent visit. I do like the lobster offerings. I went for a lobster salad. Not very imaginative, but very tasty and relatively healthy. Thuy had a dish with shrimp and lobster, in a cream sauce, on a potato cake(I forget what it was called on the menu, and the lobster specials don’t appear to be on Lucile’s website.) It was good, but I think Thuy regretted not getting the whole lobster(as she typically does). One of our dining companions had the prime rib(his go to item) with Yorkshire Pudding Popovers. The prime rib is very good, but it does tend to run out. So if you are craving prime rib, try to show up early. I also recommend going for the next size up. The left-overs make for a great lunch the next day. Oh, it is served with creamy horseradish, but grated horseradish is available. Like the desserts above, the prime rib is Friday and Saturday only. I’ve never had the pizza, but every time I see one go by, I say«next time», but there’s always something else that catches my eye. It’s been a while since we’ve had the Bananas Foster, but as I recall it’s prepared table-side and his flamed. Makes for a good desert to impress a date. Bottom line: A solid performer that never disappoints. Next time I _am_going to have the pizza!

Very popular brunch spot in Ft. Worth, as evidenced by our 20 minute wait at 11:30 on a Saturday. Lots of great breakfast options available as well as burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas. Our table ordered across the spectrum. I highly approve of the beignets, which I almost missed buried at the bottom of the menu. Other hits with my family included the crab cakes, grilled cheese sandwich, lobster roll, and a WONDERFUL homemade pizza. Three and not four stars because we were stuck in a back corner and sometimes our waiter forgot about us. Otherwise, solid meal.

Despite being a bit of an institution here, its seems like I’ve driven by Lucile’s hundreds of times without ever going in. Craving seafood, The Fiancée and I decided to stop in for a bite. I guess we had good timing, as our visit was right in the middle of their«Shrimp fest» so we also had a choice of several shrimp-centric items, along with the other good options on their menu. The Fiancée ordered the Bistro Chicken and it really was delicious. It is hard to beat a well cooked brick-oven pizza. Delicious toppings and crust, a great pizza overall. I opted with the Shrimp Étouffée, and the shrimp featured were of good size and fairly delicious. The étouffée itself was pretty solid, although I thought it was a bit watered down(maybe I’m just used to mine being a bit more spicy). All-in-all, we were happy with our experience(the food came out quick and our waitress was great) and I think we plan on coming back to try out their famous brunch, too.

We visited Lucile’s soon after we moved to Fort Worth last summer for lunch one day. Our waiter was snotty and arrogant for some unknown reason. The menu was one –dimensional with the usual fare of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a few lunch plates including the obligatory salmon that everyone else in town has. Our food was lackluster and I felt this place was not even worth a review. Over the next several months, several of our friends recommended Lucile’s, so we thought maybe it could be worth a re-do. On Sunday, January 18, we joined my two cousins there for Sunday brunch. I am not a big breakfast eater but ordered two eggs, hash browns, sausage, and biscuits. When the food came, I was somewhat stunned as something resembling a quarter inch thick hockey puck was on my plate. I had to use a steak knife to cut a pie-shaped wedge out of it to autopsy exactly what it was supposed to be. Yep, that was the sausage, brown, leather-like with no taste what-so-ever. The single biscuit I was provided was cold and again, about as hard as a hockey puck. The remainder of the«food» was lukewarm at best, again without much discernible taste. One of my cousins ordered the Wood Roasted Frittata, but specified NOBELLPEPPERS! When she cut into that bad boy, it looked like the chef prepared it as a frittata with bell peppers ONLY! I told her to send it back, but she said she would just try and pick them out. We were there at 10:00, so the rules of the universe prohibit ordering anything but breakfast, yet another one-dimensional idea. We won’t be going back to Lucile’s again.

We came today for brunch. Had a 45 minute wait. Finally got to our table and our server wasn’t all that friendly. They have a kid’s lunch menu for lunch, but not breakfast. They could make a half waffle for my son, but couldn’t do half of a German pancake for my daughter. My husband got the waffles. I got Lucille’s bistro omelet. Big omelet with cheese, ham, onions, bell pepper, and tomatoes. It comes with hash browns and a biscuit. I didn’t want all that plus the omelet, but they still put it on my plate anyway. It also came with Salsa which I think made the omelet. The food was decent, but the service and the wait killed it. I’d like to come back for their lobster fest or crab fest one day though.

Lucile’s used to be a place I craved but no longer. The french onion soup was overly salty. The file gumbo that I adored and made special trips for is no longer on the menu. The menu is more streamlined and aimed at expensive fish dishes or expensive steak dishes and wood fired pizzas. Their pizzas are good but it was not what I was in the mood for. I tried a smoked chicken alfredo dish. The alfredo was lacking. I knew it came with spinach and artichoke hearts but the alfredo was not the rich and creamy sauce I was expecting. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great or memorable either. My dining companion had a chicken on pesto angel hair dish and stated that the chicken was overdone and burned in places. Our service was impeccable. My glass was never empty. The timing between courses was perfect. The key lime chocolate bottomed pie was exquisite. One star for service and one for pie. Minus three stars for no gumbo, lackluster alfredo, overly salty soup, and burned spots on chicken. Lucile’s you are no longer my favorite restaurant near the Museum District. Bring the gumbo back. Please. Please. BRINGTHEGUMBOBACK. I don’t want lobster cioppino, I want gumbo with duck and shrimp. For those of you craving the gumbo, call ahead. The waitress said they offer it as a special sometimes on the whim of the chef.
