Me and my husband have been here 3 times now, with kids and without. And each time has been amazing, weather u want spicy or need to tone it down for the kids, they accommodate anyone tastes. Love the dumplings, I recommend get the mix so u can try all three for one price. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Service has gone down since the last time we were there. the waiters were just new I hope? The food is still great!!! I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki amazing flavors the shaved ginger on it was just perfect!!! They didn’t have anything for desert no green tea cheese cake no fried banana… I hate it when good places start to go down hill :(

We stopped in for lighter fare on a quiet Saturday evening. Fried spring rolls were perfection like no other and the dumplings were the freshest I’ve had in years. Tom Kha was spot on and the Tom Yum was tasty as well. Drinks and dinner were the cheapest I’ve seen in the cultural district at $ 3 beers and a meal ticket under $ 50 a couple, yet the vibe is truly upscale. Next time I’ll try the Pad Thai and then I’ll know beyond a shadow of doubt whether Kin Kin is my new favorite Asian food spot in the city.

This place is alright. The handmade duck dumplings are right on point. Duck to wrapper ratio is excellent, and the filling is seasoned well. Pad thai was a little more watery than I like it, and there was a heavy taste of tamarind in the dish. Portion size is generous, but by the end, the noodle dish was essentially a glop of saucy noodles, which were hard to swallow. That didn’t stop me from finishing though, the taste wasn’t bad. They have 10% off with a student ID, which was nice. The restaurant has a Bangkok theme, which kind of comes through. My buddy had the beef drunken noodles, which he found pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty great, it feels simultaneously high class and approachable. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, but found it unmemorable. I’ll probably head elsewhere the next time I’m in the mood for Thai food.

The first time I went here I just went to the bar and it was fairly good! The second time I came back was yesterday. The service was amazing and our food came out pretty fast. Probably because it was Christmas Eve and hardly anyone was there. Candles were lit and the lights were dimmed so it was really romantic for my boyfriend and I. I ordered the green curry and it was really good but I don’t think i would get it again. My boyfriend got pad Thai I believe, and the noodles were bland and the greens were really tough to the point he couldn’t eat them. So we both left not satisfied. The green curry was my fault though lol. Overall a 5 for customer service a 5 for décor and a 5 for cleanliness but a 3 for food. So I gave it a 4. I think that maybe Thai just isn’t my cup of tea but if it’s yours, you may enjoy it!

Kinda even isn’t worth writing a review. I’m sure this place will close soon. It’s VERY rare that I literally have to spit something out just because it’s so gross. Don’t order the grilled calamari!!! Oh, and yes, I’ve had non-fried calamari before. The curry dishes are good but not good enough to pay that high $$ rent. Bye bye Kin-Kin. Kinda sad because Thai is one of my favorite cuisines. I do want to say our young bartender was nice. However one of my main issues with this place since it’s opened(and I’ve eaten here 5 times now) is that no one. I mean. NOONE cares that you are there and if you’re having a good experience. When it first opened the owner was there every time I went and never took the time in the EMPTY restaurant to come around. Regarding the food. The curry was pre made so if I wanted to adjust the spice — too bad! Anyways. Over this place. Over this review. Waste of time!

Meh… if Unilocal would allow me to just write«meh» for a review, that is honestly all I would say. From my experience, I wouldn’t even call the food or service mediocre as it fell way below that line. in regards to the service, I called in and ordered to go on this particular evening. I told the server what time we would be picking up the food but he informed me it would only take 10 minutes to prepare. I repeated to him that I wouldn’t be able to pick it up for an hour… what do you know when we picked up the food, it was ice cold. As for the food, we ordered dumplings, pad thai, and the drunken noodles. Even if the food was warm and fresh, the flavor and taste wouldn’t have been on par with other local Thai establishments. From what I understand this this is a rather new establishment and hopefully they’ll get it together over time but I won’t be returning.

I’ve eaten at Kin Kin quite often actually. It’s in such a great location and so convenient to go to for a quick meal. Food — 3⁄5 1. Pad see ew — I literally order this dish every time I go. It’s definitely my favorite thing to eat here. Sometimes it has the perfect amount of sauce. Sometimes, too much. 2. Duck dumplings — These are very delicately made, but they’re not the best I’ve had. Good standard dumplings 3. Chicken gang dang(red curry) — I love curry, but this was SO spicy and extremely chunky. There was not enough sauce and too many veggies 4. Pad thai — I love pad thai, but it wasn’t what I was used to. It was very liquidity. Service — 3.5÷5 I can’t quite tell how I feel about Kin Kin yet. I was accidentally given leftovers in my to go order, but the manager apologized. Overall, I really like the pad see ew and return for that. I’m still on the hunt for great Thai food in Fort Worth though. **bring your student ID, you get $ 1 off each person at the table!

Bangkokification. Say that with a straight face and I’ll buy you dinner. I feel like every place I tried this weekend is hard to review. I was excited when Kin Kin opened up! I liked MK’s and then it was called The Fish for awhile. We came Thursday night and it was dead. Our waitress looked like she had a rough day but she was pretty cool. It has a beautiful bar with a saying above it «Love to eat, live to eat» I started off with the Bangkokification drink. We got the bangkok shrimp and the housemade dumplings for apps. The bangkok shrimp were good. They were drowned in this aioli sauce that was mayo based. Because of the sauce it caused the shrimp not to be crispy. We got the dumplings. 6 total, I can’t remember what they had in them. I know two had tofu and something, two were duck, and can’t remember the other. I had the beef short rib green curry. It was delicious and spicy! There is also a massaman beef short rib curry that’s not spicy. My husband got the thai shrimp clay pot and he liked it. A new twist on Thai cuisine is right. 3 – 4 stars because I will be back to try more, but I prefer my Thai without the twist.

Ordered to go. It’s nice that they offer $ 1 off each item. Braised pork belly — it was just okay. 3 small pieces. I would not order this again. Pad see eww– VERY salty. A lot of soy sauce. I would not order this dish here again. Thai tea — It didn’t taste like brewed from fresh tea leaves. It tasted like from instant powder packages. Hmm. This visit kind of left me disappointed. I think next time I’m just gonna order from a little hole in the wall Thai place.

Crêpe Spring Roll: 1⁄5(horrible, super sweet and not crispy) Tom Yum Goong: 3⁄5(not bad but i’ve had so much better) Dumplings: 3⁄5(not bad but nothing special) Pad Kee Mow: 3⁄5(too much bell pepper and not enough noodles) Cocktails: 3⁄5(not bad but not great either) Service: 5⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5(nice place but it was completely empty of people) Value: 1⁄5(expensive and not very good food) Overall I will certainly never come back to this establishment which i feel bad saying because the people were nice but the food is bad and that’s the whole of it.

Having studied in, and now working near 7th street in Fort Worth, I have seen a multitude of restaurants occupy the same space where Kin Kin is today. We ordered the shrimp curry, short rib green curry, thai beef jerky, shrimp chips, scottish eggs, and some drinks. The jerky was surprisingly tasty, and reminiscent of the beef dish my grandma used to make. The shrimp chips(little puffed chips) were ok… no real flavor whereas other places(and supermarkets) have versions that are bursting with that yummy shrimpy flavor. I wasn’t a huge fan of the scottish eggs or the shrimp curry. The scottish egg is supposed to be covered in sausage and fried, but in a certain nod to Thai cuisine was coated in fish cake paste and fried. An interesting choice, but I am not sure it worked in this case. Still, an interesting dish if you’ve never had a scotch egg before. The shrimp dish… well to be completely honest it tasted like Tom Yang Goon soup in «main meal» form. On the other hand, the short rib green curry was flavorful, nuanced and imaginative. I’d certainly eat it again. The cocktails were also on point, with the Mai tai being a personal favorite. Overall, ok… but if Kin Kin wants to survive in a remarkably competitive environment, they need to focus on food quality. Creativity is a great thing, if executed properly.

It had been quite a while since I had Thai food, so I was excited to come here. When I entered I immediately noticed how beautiful the place was. I ordered a drink at the bar then found a table. I was seated with two other people, but somehow I was skipped to place an order. I had to flag down waiter Jackie to come back and take my order. He made a joke about it to lighten the mood. I placed my order and that was that. Not long after I ordered another person joined the table and placed an order. Everything is made fresh because Chef Eddy doesn’t use heat lamps, so we had a small wait, but I didn’t mind because I was with good company and would rather have a fresh meal. He also changes plating presentation frequently which was evident by the identical appetizers ordered at my table and they came out back to back slightly different. I ordered Bangkok Shrimp for an appetizer. They are deep fried sweet and spicy goodness sitting on top of a bed of raw, shredded cabbage! That alone could have been my meal. For my main entrée I ordered Short Rib Green Curry with no bamboo shoots. The meals definitely took a while. Everyone received their orders except for me. When the waiter went to the kitchen to ask about my order, it arrived within a matter of minutes, but it was packed to go. The server immediately took it to the back and had it plated. It came out with bamboo shoots, which I said no to, but it wasn’t many so I didn’t mind. The curry was so good, spicy w/a hint of sweet and the rib was super tender. Typical short rib, but that curry made it all come together. This is a superb dish. Let’s not forget my drinks. My first was a Bangkok Mule. I guess the difference with this one was they use ginger syrup instead of ginger beer and it’s very noticeable. I didn’t taste any alcohol and it actually tasted watered down from first sip. My second drink was the pomegranate mojito. Again, I tasted no alcohol. Checking out was slow because everyone was doing this around the same time. I’m so glad I was surrounded with good people to take my mind off the wait and the couple mishaps that happened to me during my service. Overall, good vibe and good food; my service, not so much.

So glad i got to try out this place tonight! great food with great company made the meal all the more tasty! Drinks: had the bangkokification, would def have 10 of these lol, and the pomm mojito, i normally hate mojitos because of the strange feeling mint gives me, but i loved this didnt even taste the mint and it was sweet! Food: APPs so glad i ate with a group, Asians eat family style! i had the dumplings, roti curry Bangkok shrimp tamarind fried egg grilled calamari. being allergic to seafood i could only eat the dumplings and fried eggs, the eggs was the winner and I’m sure the scotched ones would of blown me away had i could eat em haha. but the alternative was def no side chick. the tamarind sauce was perfectly paired with it. my friends enjoyed the Bangkok shrimp the most and the grilled calamari was def a different site to see from the usual fried. my friends unfortunately didn’t like it, the roti curry is def a great starter curry for those who are afraid to try because of not knowing or afraid of spices. the pita bread tasted great with it def never had pita bread with that haha. Food: Entrees: we had the five spiced ribs, kao soi chicken, gang dang, gang keaw, and the short rib green curry. i ordered the green curry short rib. omg. it was amazing. the curry was just the right spiciness paired with the right veggies and the short rib was cooked to perfection. it melted at the touch of my fork. spot on curry man id go back just for the green curry this pork came in. next i tried everyone curry red and green. i def liked the red more but not over my dish haha. then i tried the kao soi chicken, this dish was the most visually appealing so i knew it was going to be BA haha. the noodles this dish came in were sauced in something I’ve never had before and if i had ordered it i would of ate that up! then i tried the five spicy ribs while it was good i thought why not add it to my orig order hahaha which i did. my only complaint about this place is the amount of rice. i wish i could have more! i probably could of for more money but rice proportions to me are so important. i didn’t get to finish my dish due to this it just felt wrong to eat that way. i loved being greeted in Thai when i walked in and even bowed to haha, it even goes to the extent each employee knew gender specific Thai which most people don’t know that the language even differentiates words by gender haha. the staff here are really friend everyone helps everyone’s tables i love that, the manager comes by and the owner separately, both very nice and def care about their establishment. this thai style meets fine dining mash up is executed to the finest of detail. id love to eat here again.

Came here for lunch, it was a little busy, but still didn’t have to wait for a table. The place looks great and I love how open they made it compared to how it was previously. It took a while for a waitress to come see us but the hostess stepped in to serve us water since she was busy. Very polite staff, and checked up on us appropriately. Food wise I enjoyed my meal, but I am quite knit picky when it comes to Thai food. I ordered the Bangkokification solely because of the name. It was super sweet and yummy. I would recommend to anybody with a sweet tooth for drinks. Cocktails run between$ 8-$ 10, which is standard. Appetizers range from $ 7-$ 10 and entrees anywhere from $ 10-$ 20. Pricier than most Thai restaurants but Kin Kin is more upscale, and to me I felt the price was appropriate. Along with my drink I ordered the Tom Kha Chicken, which I get at every Thai restaurant I go to, and it was really good! Honestly still not THE best but once again I’m picky. I do find it extremely odd that they don’t do a spice level range, but they do offer to give extra spice on the side to mix in, which works just fine. For my entrée I went for the Bamee Pork Belly, which I REALLY enjoyed! I would’ve liked a little more sauce on it but even so it was good flavor and well portioned. Would’ve finished it had I not ordered the soup, but now I have a nice little meal for dinner after taking the rest to go. I spent $ 30 for my entire meal which is quite pricey for a lunch but then again it was a nice way to enjoy a meal and catch up with a friend. I’m definitely gonna come back to try more stuff and order take out since I live close by. They have a pretty size able menu so I’m excited to try more things! This place just opened so service is a little shakey and they are busier bc it’s new, but I look forward to see how it develops and hope it stays strong so I can keep trying things!

I think Kin Kin is well on it’s way to becoming a Fort Worth favorite. It’s in a great location on West 7th right next to the parking garage, and I love the atmosphere inside. All the windows let in a ton of natural light and everything is very open and breezy. The furniture and décor is chic and modern with a subtle Thai flair, and there’s a big beautiful bar. Woohoo! The drink menu is divided into Asian beer, Texas beer, Asian whiskey, Texas whiskey, wine, and signature cocktails. I love that they’re focused on both local and Asian products — a testament to the thoughtfulness and vision of Kin Kin’s team. The menu, of course, is Thai fusion. Thai with a twist! As soon as you read the name«Urban Thai» and enter, you should realize«hey… this isn’t a traditional Thai restaurant.» It’s not a hole-in-the-wall with 10 types of curry and a ton of noodle dishes for $ 8, and it’s not a BYOB place with paper menus. I love those places for sure, but Kin Kin has a totally different identity. It’s definitely more upscale. You’ll find a few curries, pad Thai, fried rice, soups, spring/egg rolls, salads, desserts… You’ll also see calamari, Thai Scottish eggs, a burger, ribs, and a whole slew of Chef Eddy T’s specialties under the heading«Thai Thai.» Most Thai Thai entrees are between $ 15-$ 22, with a few up to $ 27. Rice/noodle/curry dishes run between $ 11 and $ 16(if you’re adding seafood). I had lunch here recently with my intern, and we started with the steamed edamame. Of course it was super hot and tasty. I decided on the red curry with tofu for my main dish($ 12.50), and it was seriously delicious. The depth of flavor was incredible, I loooved the Anaheim pepper and the apple eggplant(never had this veggie before), and the tofu was the perfect silky texture. The one thing I found pretty odd is that you can’t request a certain level of heat on spicy dishes. I think that with the prices of the dishes, you should be able to ask for a spice level you’re comfortable with. However, I can’t complain about my meal. It was definitely HOT and my nose was running, but the flavors were fabulous. For dessert we had the Green Tea Cheesecake which was incredible! Such a soft, subtle taste and a beautiful creamy texture, and the crust is like an almond meringue. Very unique. We also tried the grilled bananas… AMAZING. They’re all caramelized and soft and delicious, served on top of a fantastic coconut-ginger sauce. You MUST try them! OH, and all gluten-free items are noted with a little symbol on the menu, which I seriously appreciate. :)

I was so excited when we found out there would be a new Thai spot on west 7th. Chef Eddie from Bite City Grill talked about it at a CMYE– and since you can taste his Thai twist at BCG, we couldn’t wait. They snuggled into MK Sushi ’ s old corner spot and it was already packed when we met up for dinner. It was a rocky dinner. They just opened so they don’t have their groove down, but I’m hoping that will be different soon. Our waiter was so very cheerful– even if we had to wait so long in between his visits. Instead of grouping the servers tables together they were scattered all over. The food was a lovely contrast to the usual fare in the area. We shared the jerky over cocktails– was not very satisfying, they flash fry it and it was just too oily. The drinks were nice and they have a good selection of wines. Next was the scotch eggs and dumplings and Tom kha. I really enjoyed the scotch eggs– this is a must try. The Tom kha was perfectly tangy, I kept sipping on it long after it was room temp. We ordered the tamarind chicken and beef short rib in green curry with a side of sticky rice for the main course. immediately after tasting the short rib we started sopping up the sauce with little rice balls and fork fighting over the tender beef. It was by far my favorite dish. I skipped dessert cause I was miserable from all the courses, but I’ll try them after I wait a few more weeks so they can work out the kinks.

First time in. Not very busy on Wednesday night. Note: I’ve seen a couple comments about the parking. There is free parking in the garage just behind the restaurant with ticket validation from the restaurant. I guess on a busy Friday or Saturday night, this garage may get full, but I’ve not had a problem yet visiting nearby establishments on those nights, and using this garage. The interior of the restaurant is attractive, but not really reflective of the Thai theme, even though there is a Thai quote on the back wall. No one at the restaurant could tell me what it translates to! Service was very good throughout our meal. We started with the pork and shrimp dumplings. Pan fried in the traditional way, excellent flavor, cooked just right. Served attractively in a traditional looking bamboo basket. The dumplings were hot(temperature wise), and the soy based dipping sauce was complimentary. For my main dish, I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, my go to dish to evaluate the kitchen skills. The dish was very good. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not too sticky, with all the traditional ingredients. I thought it was just slightly under spiced, my only complaint. To drink I got the Thai Iced Tea. Perfectly made. For dessert, my daughter got the matcha cheese cake, nice refreshing finish to the meal. I opted for the Thai Tea cake on the recommendation of the manager. It was just ok. By itself, it was actually quite tasteless, but when eaten with the coconut based liquid in the bottom of the bowl, it was cloyingly sweet. With tip, the total bill for the two of us was $ 70, a bit expensive given we had no alcohol. Impressive food however. Worth a try in Fort Worth if you are looking for decent Thai food.

You guys… this place is straight up delicious! Kin Kin is FINALLY open for lunch, and I am so glad it is. Their gluten free options are awesome. I had their Tofu Pad Thai, which was amazing. The tofu was cooked to perfection and the tamarind sauce was PERFECT! I didn’t want the meal to end, so I took some of it to go so that I could continue the meal later! HA! MAKESURE you try their Green Tea Cheesecake! It is of the utmost importance. First of all, it is gluten free. They put the cheesecake on top of a meringue cookie and top it all off with bits of strawberry! I also tried the grilled bananas. YOUHAVEGOTTOHAVETHOSEWHENYOUGO. Sorry I am using all capital letters. I’m just extremely excited about this place. I already want to go back! The wait staff was very attentive and nice! They made sure my Coca-Cola was always filled to the top and that the table was cleared when I was done with my food. The bigger meals are a bit expensive, but it’s worth it because everything was so tasty! The ambience was refreshing. Plenty of seating and natural lighting. My cup of tea! Go try it, please!!!
