Great sandwiches at this mom ‘n pop shop and very sweet people. Been here for almost 20 years and one of Magnolia Ave’s hidden gems. Try the turkey and avocado sandwich or meatball sub, my personal favorites.

Never thought I’d find a great gyro in the DFW metro. Been to so many places but never pleased. Thanks to Hoagie Heroes, I don’t have to go all the way to New York to satisfy my craving ! Great owners, great quality, great taste!

Tried this place in the middle of the week, around 1pm. Fast and friendly service. Bagged chips and canned drinks available. I had gotten the Philly cheese steak and the meatball. Both were good and filling.

I wish I could give this no stars. That was the most truly disgusting sandwich I have ever tried to eat. I had the mushroom steak. They don’t even have a grill, I just heard the slamming and beeping of the microwave as they prepared the sandwich. They shoved a bunch of microwaved mystery meat and cheese between a roll and called it good. It was also inexplicably dusted with Italian seasoning. Eat literally anywhere else.

First time here and last. Only two types of cheese, cheddar and Swiss and it comes shredded??? Sizes are good but not very high quality meats. Can drinks, surcharge for using credit cards. Very small place and very dated. You have to walk thru the kitchen to get to the bathroom. It’s more like a sandwich that came from a grocery store or gas station not a deli. The place has no deli feel to it. It feels more like a cheap Chinese buffet. When you say hoagie I expect to see east coast style deli! All in all it was ok but not good enough to come back. Thanks for playing!

Didn’t have a sandwich, but ordered a chicken gyro. I didn’t even eat it, and I’m not a picky eater. The chicken was thinly sliced discolored meat dotted with green speckles. It was 3 of these rectangular slices, a little bit of lettuce, and one thinly sliced cucumber split in half. Served cold. Took10 minutes to make. With a bag of chips, it cost me around $ 6.75. Paul’s charges the same price, and the gyro comes loaded with legit non-spam chicken and fresh veggies. Place is sketch. Go somewhere else.

You know those times where you are paralyzed from over-working, your body stiff from too many hours? You are famished, but can’t find the strength to drag yourself to either a restaurant, or a supermarket? That is where the«Hero’s» of the hoagie come into play. The food is very inexpensive, and they offer really fast delivery times. They are really considerate when packing your to-go order via salt/pepper and utensils. The food itself is decent — depending on what you order. If you are a vegetarian, go for the tomato basil soup and avocado sub. The vegetarian subs are good, but the hoagie bread almost overpowers them. The bun is thick and sturdy when unheated, too thick for the light bean sprouts, etc. BUT, that’s a vegan problem. I imagine that this place offers a delicious, heated ham or roast beef sandwich. Also, they are generous with the avocado; making them a friend in my book! Will order again.

I came, I ordered, I conquered. Hoagie down, someone call in for backup because I’m about to annihilate another one after ordering too much. /scene There’s something different and unique about this place. Traditional American hoagies? Not really. Good ingredients? Sure. I ordered their main special, at a solid 12 inches, and it was waaay too big. I’m a big guy, and I eat a lot, but they don’t mess around here with their rulers, 12 inches is the real deal and the sandwiches are *packed* with meats, cheeses and sauces. That’s great! If I owned this place, the first thing I would do is throw away all the décor and replace it with something sensible. When you walk inside you’re really thrown for a loop. What do you expect… grandma’s old fashioned cooking or a redneck joint? Don’t worry though, the bite is much more enjoyable than the bark. Give it a shot. The cons, you’re going to be faced with soda cans(no refills) and chip bags(I didn’t know Frito made a mini-me sized bag). In the end, if «Hot Hoagies» is an A+ and«Cold Hoagies» is a B-, I give this place a score of «Is there another sandwich shop around here?» Bummer!

For a sub place, this is now my favorite by far! I lived in Atlanta for years and usually preferred Publix subs(trust me!) and Jersey Mike’s. I have been craving a good tuna sub and NO way will Subway do. Coworker and I went by here. NO ambiance. Seems like a take it to go kind of deal. First time I went the woman who runs the place was a bit abrupt, second time they were very friendly. I had the tuna both times and LOVE it. I usually like my tuna with just mayo, but they add some red onion and seasoning(no idea what is in that seasoning). I picked out the few chunks of onion and it was super yummy. In fact, now I want another sub from there! I wanted to try the seafood and crab sub the second time but they were out(which she did not seem to feel to terrible about). You can add a can of soda and bag of chips. Overall cost is pretty low. I will be back!

I was shocked to learn that this place has been here for eighteen years… I guess I should thank all the progress on Magnolia Ave. for making me pay more attention. Two days ago, after oohing and aahing at all the things to try on Magnolia, I spotted Hoagies. I told myself next time I need lunch on Magnolia, this will be the place I try next. Well today was that day and I’m glad I did. Was it the best«hoagie» I ever had? Not quite, but it was pretty good. I was sort of expecting a Jersey type sub, and it came pretty close. I had the«Hoagie Special», which is ham, turkey, salami, with Swiss cheese. I also had it with«The Works», which includes mayonnaise, creamy Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion(and per the menu, Swiss cheese). The bread was good, but the texture wasn’t quite right. There was also something a bit salty, either one of the meats, or maybe the Italian dressing. Again, not bad, but a bit more than I would have liked. Next time I would definitely not get the dressing and instead go for oil and vinegar. The menu also features vegetarian subs, as well as hot subs. There’s also a section featuring spaghetti and salads. It was a fun little place and I can’t believe I never saw this place before… I used to live in the area, back when I was hoping Magnolia would become what it is today. Bottom line: If you want a lite inexpensive bite for lunch on Magnolia, Hoagies would be a very good choice. Dine in, take away, delivery and catering are all available.

The restaurant is small and quiet. The staff very kind and helpful and you can get a decent sized meal for pretty cheap. I spent less than $ 7 for a six inch turkey and avocado sub, a bag of chips, a can of soda. My only complaint is the shredded cheese on my turkey sandwich. It was supposed to be «swiss» but had the texture and taste of what I imagine vegan cheese is like.

These are hands down the best subs I have ever had. Fort worth’s best kept secret is found in this quaint sandwich shop with friendly service and amazing food. You have to taste to believe.
