Décor: 4⁄5 –Rustic style interior with unique décor Service: 4⁄5 –Friendly Food: 4⁄5 –Chopped sandwich(brisket) was perfect. Great flavor, no need for tabasco. –Sides were mediocre and I would recommend skipping the potato salad and the ranch style beans –Sweet tea wasn’t that great.

Wow! This was incredible barbeque. Brisket melted in your mouth and it had no fat I could see. Char was beautiful and smoky flavor a unique experience. I have eaten BBQ in Virginia, NC, SC just to name a few states and you can not top Hickory Stick Bar-B-Q for taste, and great service. For the life of me I can’t remember our server’s name, but I remember she moved from Ohio about 30 years ago. I apologize because you were incredibly personable and so polite. Try they you will not be sorry. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Was in Ft. Worth for business and was looking for bbq. Saw Hickory stick on Unilocal and gave it a try. WOW is all I can say. The ribs are the best I’ve ever had!!! Super nice staff. A definite must visit when in Ft Worth.

This little place has been in business 39 years, I am planning on suing the person who told me about the Hickory Stick BBQ because he has known about this place for. Over 31 years and didn’t tell me about it. My wife and I decided to try this place for lunch today. There were several vehicles in the parking lot and when I opened the door to get out the first thing I noticed was the wonderful aroma of real BBQ smoke. The aroma of the BBQ was a good indicator of the meat we were going to eat. My wife had the Sliced Brisket plate with potato salad and ranch style beans. I chose a combination plate of the very tender sliced brisket and the just right ribs. We were not disappointed. the employees and even a couple of diners were very friendly. Five Stars from me, Bob the«Yankee».

Went there for dinner a couple hours ago with my boyfriend. I had the rib plate and he had the combo plate. I can see why this place could be popular with some folks. The interior is obviously an old house that has been converted to be used as a restaurant. Old furniture with lots of stuffed animals on the walls etc, a bit kitcshi. The sides of cole slaw, beans, corn and baked potato salad was very meh, the ribs was dry and salty :(. We thought it was Texas toast that was served with the meal but it was just 2 slices of plain old bread and we didn’t see an butter at the table. The staff are polite but laid back. I won’t be going there again.

Love Hickory Stick! I always eat the chopped sandwich with potato salad. Wife gets combo plate and I eat most of the sausage. I take friends from out of town occasionally and they want to go back when they visit. Mark and his crew are very friendly and remember you when they see you! Just a really good place to eat.

I read all the reviews before going to eat here. I have ate at over 150 bbq restaurants through out my life this was not the worst but very close. The sausage was ok. The brisket was very tough and no smoke flavor. The beans were ranch style beans. We left this restaurant hungry so we want be going back.

So good. I got the 2 meat plate with chicken, sliced brisket, baked potato salad and beans. Everything tasted great. The meats were moist and flavorful. The potato salad and beans were on point. Husband got the rib plate with beans and coleslaw. Nothing was left on his plate. It’s a bit of a drive for us. Angelo’s, Railhead’s, and Smokey’s are all closer but this is far superior in our opinion. Will definitely be back for more.

Wow! I’m impressed with this place. More so than any other bbq place I’ve tried in Fort Worth so far. It was hard not to give them five stars. When I walked in, it was packed. Big line and plenty of people seated already. I got through the line and ordered what seemed to be their lunch special. Any sandwich with two sides for $ 8.79. I got the chopped beef sandwich with ranch beans and potato salad. I added a drink which made the total around$ 11. The cashier was extremely friendly and seemed to know everyone else by name(which means lots of regular customers). I can see why! The plate came out before the credit card could process. Granted, it’s not hard to throw some stuff on a plate that is already cooked but some places do seem to have a problem with it. The chopped beef had a nice flavor to it. It comes with bbq sauce(recommened) you can also request more at no charge. I wasn’t a fan of the regular old hamburger buns they used for the sandwich, just because it didn’t compliment the rest of the food and it made the sandwich a little messy. The potato salad was really good. The ranch beans though… the ranch beans… omg. Yum. When I was done I mixed the beans and the meat… almost had an orgasm. The waitress came along to offer anything that I didn’t have yet. Pickles, onions, jalapeños, and extra bbq sauce. She was as nice as could be. The only reason I can’t give five stars is the atmosphere. In my opinion, it needs to be updated. For one… take down that silly sign that says thanks for letting us serve you for 30 years… with 30 crossed out and 31 under it… then 32… all the way to 37 or so. Sign may cost a dollar… just get a new one…

My first time and I will be back. I had ribs, my fav BBQ meat, very good on their own. The sauce is a great compliment and unique. Ranch beans are quite good. For fun i put some sauce on them and wow a winner. The slaw is solid. When i told the owner its my 1st visit he threw on a couple extra ribs. Then while eating he came over and asked how everything was, great service.

Deeeeelicious! My husband grew up in the area and used to come here with his Grandpa and everything is still just as tasty according to him. We got the lunch special sandwich with two sides. Chopped brisket was the choice with macaroni and baked potato salad for the sides. Husband had ranch beans and corn. Food was great! They keep the place clean and everyone was friendly. Definitely would go again… and again.

Great place to eat if you like good dry rub on your ribs and sliced. Add a chicken leg for 99 cents if you go.

I love BBQ, that said I am very picky or will say something if it doesn’t meet a standard. A friend told me about this place and recommended the loaded baked potato, one of my favorites. I place my order in the person on the other end of the line was very helpful and seemed happy to answer any questions. When I received my order the smell alone had me salivating. All I remember was adding a few toppings here in there and then it was all gone, it was delicious and I will be back again. My only complaint is I wish that it had more meat but no matter it did fill me up and the bacon bits they use are not that fake stuff you buy at the store its real bacon so that’s a plus. The BBQ sauce was pretty good as well. I will be back.

Spent the day in Ft. Worth and checked out Unilocal to find a good bbq joint. THis place is certainly out of the way but worth the drive. Pretty sure I was lost but the gps got us there. Really friendly people working there and plenty of booths and tables. Not a big selection but what they had was really good. Ribs were awesome. Right up there with the popular BBQ joints around the state. I had the chopped brisket sandwich. Very tasty. Wife had sliced brisket and it was tender and really good with the warm sauce. Overall I would go again if anywhere near this place

Incredible BBQ and friendliest staff! Mark makes some amazing ribs but if pork chops are available, they are by far the best. Shiner on tap and sports on the tube make this a great hang out as well as a great dine in.

So I stopped by here the other day for lunch and got the chopped beef sandwich plate. The meat was already sauced but not over sauced. Decent smokey flavor but a little dry. The meat seemed to have been nearly puréed instead of actually chopped with a knife, nonetheless the sandwich was pretty good but not great in my opinion. My sides were beans and potato salad. The potato salad tasted like it came from the grocery store; the beans were flavorful and more satisfying. I’ll return for brisket and sausage next time since the reviews have been positive, but I doubt i’ll order that potato salad again. I also ordered peach cobbler which was fantastic. The staff working that day were very polite and the service was great.

Pretty awesome hole in the wall thats been there since 1976. They are proud of their place and thats what makes it special as well as good. I had the Two Meat Platter with Ribs and Sliced Brisket. Potato Salad and Ranch Beans for the two sides. The Ribs were as good as I have had and the Brisket was moist and tender. Potato salad was great. I also bought 5lbs of fresh Pecans picked from their orchard behind the Restaurant for $ 7.50. They also have a Bar area to eat and drink.
