I had partial highlights and hair cut done from Jodie. She is very sweet and did an excellent job! This was my first time getting my hair colored so I wanted it to be subtle. Jenna, the owner gave a very nice explanation about the hair color and the science behind it… These guys know what they are doing and care for the health of your hair! So double thumbs up :) !

Halo Salon and Color Lab has been my go to for the past 8 months and it now earned a one star rating… let me preface that I ONLY went there because of my stylist and nothing else. Initially I went because I had just moved to the area and bought a groupon to see if it would be a place to fit my needs long term. The staff is very hit/miss, the female staff are very rude and unpleasant in anything related to customer service… again I only went there for my stylist and avoided the rest at all costs because their arrogance was abrasive and took away from the experience despite being a «high end salon». SATURDAY was the WORSTEXPERIENCE at a salon… any female should have. I had called on Tuesday to confirm my appointment and let them know I was on a strict schedule for my cut, highlight and blowout… if it could not be done then let’s move my appointment. The assured me 2 hours was plenty of time. I arrived on time and he even dry cut my hair to ensure my schedule was right. Turns out he was double booked… HEREISTHEPROBLEM… I have ethnic hair and he is the only stylist at the salon who is qualified to handle my blow out(as told to me by the receptionist after the fact). He then focused all his time on the second client and my hair was not blown out. I was given a sorry discount, left looking like a troll doll and worst yet the color is nonexistent. I called in tears to see if they would make it right and no one was available to complete the blowout later on that day… the manager only offered a discounted blowout at a later date to make up for it(again as told to me by the receptionist) Im sorry but when you have the nerve to charge $ 200+ for an incomplete job then as a manager you don’t even have the common courtesy to personally reach out to a client who has been a regular every 6 – 8 weeks… your business is not going to be ever lasting. THISBUSINESSISONLYWORTHTHEGROUPON… save yourself from looking worse than when you started. One more thing if you choose to continue to be a patron, please note that their bookkeeping skills also leave items to be desired… the receptionist told me she had no record of me being a client. Sorry Halo I do not have time to display the many credit card transactions because I have to find another stylist and location where customer service actually matters.

I’m not one to write reviews, but the owner, Jenna’s, customer service upset me so much here I am. Short version: I spent 4 ½ hours in the salon because of Jenna’s atrocious customer service. I went back for her to fix the color and spent another 2 hours there for the same reason. I purchased a LivingSocial deal for a cut, partial highlights, and deep conditioning treatment. Jenna supposedly had a miscommunication with her nanny and walked in 40 minutes late to my appointment. That’s excusable, as life happens, but she made time to stop at Starbucks. I did appreciate the long consultation we had and she decided to make her tardiness up to me by giving me an expensive balayage treatment with some metallic violet. An hour after my appointment was scheduled, she began applying color. Once my color was rinsed by another staff member(who was great), I waited ten minutes at the rinsing bowl just to see Jenna walk out of the staff room finishing up her food. THEN she started to mix together the toner that she should have been mixing while I was being rinsed. Color was not completed until 3 ½ hours after my appointment was scheduled. I have never actually seen any of the metallic violet in my hair, a large dark spot was left in the back of my head, and two other small color splotches were left. I contacted Jenna to have the giant dark spot in the back of my head corrected. Of course my appointment had to be rescheduled because Jenna scheduled a doctor’s appointment at that time. Jenna walked in to my second appointment that was made to fix the bad color 7 minutes late(again with Starbucks!), didn’t say a word to me, and proceeded to finish up another woman’s color. A half hour after my appointment was scheduled to begin Jenna finally had time for me. Once she finished rinsing all my color, Jenna left me standing in the middle of everything with a wet towel on my head to ask the secretary who was drying my hair. She returned, said nothing, and proceeded to turn her back to work on another client. Just as I was about to ask for a comb so I could at least comb my hair and leave, a very nice woman whose name I unfortunately didn’t get figured out where I should be and took care of me. The best part: I still have a random splotch of color near my face that was never fixed. Every person other than Jenna that I interacted with at the salon was great, but I will never be back and could never support Jenna’s business after the way I was treated

I usually don’t write reviews, but I had such a horrible experience at Halo Salon & Color Lab in Ft. Worth that I had to let others know NOT to spend their time or money there. Been searching for good colorist since moving here from CA and I had found a Groupon for $ 100(for services totaling $ 170) for color and highlights and thought I’d give Halo a try. When I arrived for my appointment with Libby, I gave the front desk gal my Groupon which she took from me and walked away. After returning she said nothing to me about the Groupon and I was called to Libby’s chair. It took Libby SIXHOURS(that’s right 6 hours) to do my color/highlight and one other customer. During that 6 hours, I was never offered water or any beverage. Being from CA, hair salons are a pampering experience but I did not find that here. If I had been satisfied with the color and outcome of my hair then I might have a better outlook but she really didn’t do anything special and I have had better. When I was finally done, I went to the front desk to leave a tip when to my amazement I was told I owed $ 70.00 more for«up-charge». The guy couldn’t explain why the extra amount nor could he say what my Groupon savings was when I bought it for $ 100 and they advertised it would be up to $ 170 in services(thus saving me the $ 70.00). So, basically, they didn’t honor their own Groupon. The guy only said he was instructed to charge me $ 70.00 more — nice! So, I paid it and left really upset as I felt I had been scammed. And, as I said, Libby(who is from CA by the way) was just okay. She isn’t a «master colorist» as claimed. In fact, the hair colorist I had after her several months later told me Libby’s color wasn’t even nor consistent throughout. In any case, I hope you take my comments to heart — this salon has false advertising with Groupon and they do not care about their customers. My recommend is to avoid this place and don’t waste you time or money here.

Do not go here! I Went in with specifics of how I wanted my hair done, I had dark brown hair & wanted blonde highlights 40% and 3 inches cut off. Informed ‘Branden’ that my hair pulled a lot of red &DIDNOT want any. After his completion he not only put about 20% of hi lights but they were red. He assured me they would lighten up after a few washes… they did not so I returned 7 day & got same results. His exclamation was because my hair was damaged(even though I had my hair cut & I get weekly deep conditioning treatments. I’m not a confrontational person so just decided to go to another salon. BTW I paid $ 240 for this inadequate service. Do not go here.

Bridgett rescued my hair and I now not only look human but, a human with good hair. I lucked onto Bridgett, who, not only agreed with me that there was something wrong with a previous haircut(textured ends?) and that my color problem was due to over processing. And I had paid money and tips for bad color and cuts! Anyway, I walked out with hair I can style and be proud to be seen in. I’m not sure but, she may have taken off a few years, too.

Don’t usually review places but had to on this one. I’ve been going to Halo for about two years. My first color experience was ok – nothing to rave about but I got what I wanted(overall rich brown color). That colorist is no longer there. I saw Helena a few times after for cuts and styles. She is very nice and did a decent job — again, probably nothing to go nuts over but I was always satisfied and I never had a major reason to change salons. Everything I asked for was pretty straight forward. Earlier this spring, however, I had an awful experience and DEFINITELY will never return. I requested balayage, really wanting something new and wanted to add reddish highlights to my hair. They set me up with Libby. She seemed to really know what I was wanting and I showed multiple pictures. When my hair was done itlooked like I had done absolutely nothing to it. Libby even could tell and said we’d have to «maybe bleach out the color first next time to really tell»…it looked nothing like the pics I showed. I really don’t get why a «master» colorist wouldn’t know this first? I would’ve been ok with whatever to get the desired look but she just slapped some color on my hair and you couldn’t even see it – and I paid significantly more for this«balayage» color that wasn’t even detectable. The worst part though wasn’t even that — during the entire treatment, while sitting there with color in my hair, I had to listen to the owner of the salon(who was also getting her hair colored by an employee next to me) talk loudly about a very personal story dealing with her teenage daughter. I won’t go into the topic, but felt it was inappropriate and distracting. I know Halo isn’t a spa and I’m not necessarily there to relax, but come on, isn’t it common sense that the environment should at least be comfortable? The whole experience was just annoying, uncomfortable, and I had to sit and listen to this disconcerting conversation. Not to mention, the owner’s name is all over the place and this was a very private matter having to do with her young daughter. It just seemed totally unprofessional and tacky.(and I’m no stick-in-the-mud but geez some things are better left to discuss in less public spaces, especially when you’re trying to enjoy a salon experience). The last whole visit just made my past mediocre experiences even more apparent and I’ve now found a new salon. I think other reviewers are right when they say run-of-the-mill and maybe not good for a big hair change. The salon is small and sparse, not warm or comfortable either… for more reasons than one obviously.

Had the BEST experience today with Bridget!!! This girl works miracles and is a blast to chat with. She was so thorough and talked me through every step of the process to fix my hair. I had a terrible experience at a salon in the area and a mess of a haircut to fix. Somehow Bridget sculpted that mess into beauty! I could not be more pleased. She took this choppy bob and turned it into my original vision. Thank you SO much! Ps– used a groupon and Bridget was still so amazing. Sometimes stylist look down upon things like Groupon but not this gal. She spent over 3 hours working on me and she even curled my hair for me! She rocks and really views her job as artistry and it’s so obvious in her work! Call her!!!

I used a Groupon for highlights, hair treatment, cut and style(cost of $ 99, with a supposed $ 360 value). You’d think they’d really want to wow you to get you to become a regular. However, I was seen 35 minutes past appointment time, hair turned out a horrendous color, colorist left for a road trip, stylist«fixed» as best as possible, but I ended up there SIXHOURS and am not entirely happy with the color still. Stylist had to juggle front desk/receptionist duties with fixing my hair. I was exhausted, day gone, plus I almost passed out from low blood sugar and dehydration due to inordinate visit duration.

Best mens hair styling I’ve ever received in North Texas. Tim walks you through the best possible choices based on your individual hair and helps you find a style that will actually look good and work for you. I’ve never seen a stylist that is as passionate about hair crafting as this man.

I contacted Halo and met with the owner Jenna, early December 2013. I told Jenna I was getting married in May 2014. I decided to go with the 2 trials for hair and makeup, totaling $ 450. I wanted simple soft waves for my shoulder length hair, no updo. I brought in several pictures of how I wanted my hair. Jenna and two other people could not my hair right. Jenna also told me «don’t worry we will get it right no matter what». The last day I was in Halo was March 12th, Jenna told me not to worry. Leaving that day I was hit with charges that I was not expecting, Lack of communication was one of several issues I had with Halo. On April 10th I sent an email to Jenna to confirm my hair and makeup to two of her email addresses, and again to the«Halo Brides» email address. I never heard from her until a week later, her reason for the delay in response was, her email had a virus… humm, on all her email accounts? she had my phone number, why not call me? Meanwhile my wedding is May 3rd. Her email stated she did not feel comfortable going forward with me, since they could not seem to please me with how I wanted my hair… and she also told me the makeup girl that I had setup to do my makeup is no longer with Halo… Really? she could have not told me this weeks ago? So, I had only a couple weeks to find someone to do my makeup and hair. Long story short, I was out the deposit and the additional money for their attempts to get my hair right. Luckily I found a makeup artist to do my makeup, which was beautiful, and my hair was done PERFECTLY by «Blow West 7th» Blow Dry Bar, in Fort Worth, Hannah did my hair just the way I wanted, …$ 35.00. Communication, Communication is key.

This is for the Arlington Location I came across Halo Salon thru Groupon and, decided to try it. I was very impressed with my color I asked for double tones highlights. Taylor was my tech. I LOVEDMYHAIR. So I booked my follow up that same day. Well I got a call a few weeks prior to advise they will have to reschedule because Taylor was going out of town. So I did. Well turns out they never booked it.(no reminder call) so after calling twice and leaving a message twice no one called me back. Third time is a charm so I called and they booked me for Friday. I call Thursday– I had a funny feeling. Guess what? The system lost all appointments and they will not have techs that entire week.(I guess I was going to show up to my appointment and be sent home) Oh and Taylor is not at that location anymore :(Its OK I called TONYGUY in Arlington. To bad I really liked Taylor.

I was really put off at first because I had to wait a long time, even though I had an appointment. I had only come here because I had a Groupon, and was about to walk out. But once I was finally seated, everything was wonderful. My hair stylist gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had– I wish I could remember her name!!!

I had a tough time finding a regular salon here in Fort Worth. My hairstyle is very basic; long and straight with subtle highlights. All the salons I was seeing reviewed online were advertised as very edgy and hip … which, I’m sad to say, is just not me and definitely not my hairstyle! As a result, I mostly stuck to walk-in type places … Fantastic Sam’s, etc. But on a whim I decided to try Halo, and I was very pleased. I have had several regular haircuts and highlights there(it was about $ 100 each time before tip). I also had them do airbrush makeup and hair styling before a few wedding-related events, and they did a great job for a reasonable price(at the time I went at least, they only charged $ 50 for airbrush makeup application! That’s quite a steal!) Sadly, I did have a negative experience last time I went. Apparently my regular stylist left their salon and they’d missed me when calling/rescheduling his appointments. I found it a bit awkward and embarrassing that I’d showed up for my appointment(I’d still gotten text reminders, even that very day) and they had no record of me at all until they realized what must have happened. But overall I’ve had many good experiences with them and only the one negative, so I still highly recommend them.

First of all, I do not write reviews unless the service was Over The Top Great or Very Poor. That being said, I went to Halo Salon for a shampoo & blow-out and make-up application for a wedding I was attending in Fort Worth. I live in a suburb of Dallas so I really did a lot of research as I am a huge fan of the whole shampoo & blow-out experience and I actually booked at Halo and another salon. I ended up canceling the other appointment thinking that Halo had more experience. Boy was I wrong! In all honesty I was tempted to leave after the shampoo and drive back to the hotel and finish it myself. I have NEVER had anyone shampoo my hair in the manner that Chris H. did. It was VERY slow and VERY odd. As he started drying it he was using a paddle brush when we clearly had discussed I wanted a round brush blow-out. I ask him why he was using that and he said«people don’t get it that you should dry it straight then go back at the end and use the round brush». In hindsight, I should have insisted someone else do my hair. He finally finished my hair and the fact that he did not turn me around with a hand mirror to see the back was another bad sign. As I proceeded to check out the owner informed me that Chris was new with her. THANKSFORTHEHEADSUPWHEN I WASBOOKING! When I returned to my hotel my husband’s response was«I thought you were going to get your hair done». Yes, me too! When I looked at the back of my hair it was STRAIGHT. No sign of that round brush that he did use BUT too late for it to have ANY effect. Thank goodness I had some velcro rollers with me and I was able to fix his mess. The make-up was a better experience, but make sure you allow an hour for each process which is ridiculous. I am not saying I would not recommend Halo Salon, I WOULDNOT recommend Chris H. There were other stylists that seemed to know what they were doing.

you can go somewhere else. you can pay a lot more. but you WILLNOT come out looking any better than you will here. these are good people who care about what they do AND who’s in their chairs. and they understand the SCIENCE of what they’re doing. erik has cut my family’s hair for over 12 years; we followed him here and we’re glad he’s in such good company with Jennifer and the rest.
