I give the place a solid good, but there is nothing that pushes us into great territory. I’ve been twice now and have tried the sliced brisket, chopped beef and pulled pork. All the meats were tender, flavorful and served in large portions. I’m a fan of the bbq sauce — it’s a bit vinegary and I like it. I think my husband wanted to marry his loaded baked potato(warning: it’s huge). I appreciated the sides. Most bbq places I’ve tried around Fort Worth have pretty lackluster sides, but Cousin’s does a nice job. I’ve tried the broccoli rice casserole, mac & cheese and the pinto beans. I’d get them all again, except the pinto beans(they’re a bit bland). The fries are a good choice — nice and crispy. The dining room is clean, comfortable and kitschy. The bathrooms are also clean. A big plus for parents of littles — there is a changing station in both the lady’s and the men’s rooms. Close to home, clean, fast service… we’ll go back.

I saw all the cars so I figured it had to be good. Drove through and found it a bit confusing. Went inside and got my order. We were satisfied with what we ordered. I will be more confident upon ordering the next time or dining in. The parking lot seems to always be pretty full.

Fast service and decent enough barbecue — the brisket runs a little dry sometimes. I stop here at least once every time I come to Fort Worth for work since I stay in a nearby hotel. HOWEVER, the last THREE times they’ve managed to either short me(no bread) or screw up my order(order pulled pork and ribs, get pulled pork and brisket). As long as you’re not looking for national award-winning barbecue or something crazy like that, I think most people will be happy with the offerings here. I think I saw some beers in the chiller, but I could be wrong.

This was my second visit to this location and they’re consistently good. Nothing amazing but good BBQ nonetheless. I was happy with their service; I called at 8:40PM to place a pickup order and the girl who took my order said she’d be glad to take my order as long as I could pick it up before closing(9PM). I thought she was very kind and informative.

I had a friend in from out of town that I was raving to about the Thursday special the Smoked and Stuffed Au natural Burger. Sadly when we got inside I was told it was a limited thing and that they were out of it for today. We’ll guess what happened. These guys went above and beyond and made the burger for us. We were shocked. The service here is amazing and to go the extra step is a thing that is rarely found in business today. You guys won a customer for life.

First time going here and I really like the set up. Easy menu to read and quick service though the line. I got the brisket and pulled pork and thought it was good but nothing that really wowed me. Got Mac n cheese and corn as my sides. The Mac n cheese was a little runny and the corn was really good with a pepper seasoning. Overall a good BBQ place and will definitely be coming back again!

It’s not all that great to be quite honest. The potato salad lacked flavor and had massive chunks of plain white potato in it. The chopped beef was okay, might have been better if it was hot. The mac and cheese is basically kraft easy mac(it might actually be easy mac). The ranch beans were pretty good as far as ranch beans go. Two people can leave full for about 25 bucks after tax, but the food definitely won’t come close to being memorable.

Very good fully loaded potato and Frito pie. The small is plenty unless you’re sharing. I just love Frito pie! Ideal cheat day.

Very disappointed. Second time here and they are completely out of my food choice. I decided to treat my family to dinner, and I’m sitting here with no food!!! How embarrassing! I really hope that even the staff handles the situation better next time.(If we decide to return) I don’t want to be disappointed the third time. The cashier was rude and stated that there’s nothing she can do. And the funny thing is, the old couple two families behind us in the line… they left because they did not have the food of their choice either. I’m so angry to be the only person at the dinner table empty handed.

It was average. The BBQ was very very smokey, while still having good flavor. I’d eat the pulled pork again but I was disappointed by the brisket.

O boy, it was my first time going here. I must say that they got some nice food here. I came during lunch hours and it was awesome. I had Bar-B-Q Sandwiches and it was very good. I would recommand this to anyone and yes I might be going back when I am in the area.

My company orders from here a lot. The food is really good. Any of the meats you get you won’t be disappointed. Love the Texas toast. They are kinda high on price but it truly is a great place to eat. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly

I’ve always loved Cousin’s Bbq I’ve been going there for over 10 years but I’ve gotten increasingly disappointed in the portion size they’re getting smaller and smaller I’ve never been so disappointed in their food. Also the condiments I requested twice I did not get.

I love Cousin’s. Sorry to all the people who had a bad experience, but I’ve literally been here 100’s of times(we’ve gone once a week for years) and 98% of the time, the food is great. My favorite is the brisket. I get it cut a very specific way and they are always accommodating and nice about it. In fact, they know me so well by now that they already get it started when they see me coming in the door. I’ve had almost every meat they offer. My other two go-tos are the boneless chicken breast and the ribs. My partner in crime loves the sausage. I also love the chopped beef sandwich. And I can literally drink the BBQ sauce. A little spicy and the perfect thickness… it’s my favorite. I normally get the fries. With extra seasoning! I also really enjoy the corn(add a bit of butter to it and it’s great), the mac-n-cheese, and the broccoli/peanut salad thing they have. And the apple cobbler! Yum yum! The service is always very pleasant. As I mentioned earlier, the know me by now and the specific cut I like, which is nice. Maybe they grumble about me after I leave, but they’re super nice to me while I’m there, even if I am difficult. Raul, the catering manager, is awesome and so are the other Saturday morning employees I see every weekend! It may be a little pricey for some, but I think it’s definitely worth it.

Got a sliced brisket sandwich with ranch beans. The brisket was extraordinarily tough. And for the most part, bland. The beans were fabulous hence the two stars. Won’t be back. Woody Creek BBQ much better and less expensive.

As a kid, my only exposure to Cousins was the stand they have at DFW airport. The food there isn’t very impressive, but I decided to try the original after seeing it in Texas Monthly. I had a great experience. The brisket looked pretty generic but it had a great taste. My favorite item was the fried okra, which was just about as good as I’ve ever had. Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but a solid joint.

Walked in and smelled the smoked meats and I was in. Walked down the line and got the two meat combo — brisket and pork ribs — and of course sauce on it all. Got the cowboy beans and fried okra. I am a huge sucker for cherry peppers and pickles with my BBQ and they had plenty, a full huge bar of condiments. Ribs were good, little underdone but could taste the smoke in them and the brisket was a tad thinner and drier than I normally prefer but hell — there isnt any BBQ back home like this — so when in Texas. good stuff I will go back

The only barometer by which to judge a bbq restaurant in Texas is by the brisket. By that mark, Cousins deserves a half star. The brisket is under cooked, lacks flavor, and was sliced too thin. Usually you slice brisket thin to mask it’s chewiness due to undercooking. Well, it’s thin sliced here and it’s still chewy. The sides aren’t anything to write home about either. If you’re eating here and can afford a nap, order the bbq potato. It comes swimming in butter and loaded down with cheese, sour cream, and meat. Not bad for the price… but this is a bbq joint. I didn’t come for a potato.

A lot of places consider this the #1BBQ in Fort Worth, Texas. Those guys don’t use my rules. However, I did really enjoy the food and the ambiance! I got the jalapeño sausage and sliced brisket and the GF got the 3 meat special: German Sausage, Sliced Brisket, and Ribs. GF got the Jalepeno Sausage, Sliced Brisket and Ribs. I had broccoli cheese casserole and sweet beans(with brisket), and she had Fried Okra and Fries. got brisket and pulled pork. Rule 1: Know what you are getting! My buddy got the Top Cut sliced brisket which beat the heck out of «moist cut» brisket, which decimated my gf’s lean cut. Lean cut would be great on a sandwich, but straight up… we need some FAT boys and girls! The german sausage did nothing for me. I felt it was a second thought, after they made a really decent jalepeno cheese sausage! But the $$$ was the RIBS! Well crusted, moist, fall-off-the-bone delicious! Happiness and BBQ sauce from ear to ear as God Intended! And if you are going to blow your diet on French Fries(like some people at our table)… this is a great place to do it! I’m a bit of a BBQ snob… and that’s because I judge sauce and meat seperately. The sauce here is good, and a bit sweet. The meat is really good depending on what you get! Read this review… know how to order… and this is a solid 4 Stars every single time! Options are open… try for the 5, maybe get the 3… let me know what you learn!
