Rather disappointing! We stopped in for lunch while visiting from out of town. Almost all of our party ordered chicken fried steak. It wasn’t what I remember chicken fried steak to be. Gravy was heavily peppered instead of sausage country gravy or chicken gravy. None of us were thrilled with our meal. We didn’t make a return visit the rest of our time in area. Really expected more because of the reviews!

Went on a Wednesday Night… Ordered Fried Pickles as the appetizer and both ordered the chicken fried steak and Peach Cobbler for dessert. Great friendly service, Great food. First time there. Reasonable prices and huge portions… We will for sure go back.

#CottonPatchCafe We were a large group of 8 and were served well. Tevin was attentive, funny and accurate. It was a #Monday Night #ChickenFriedSteak night and it was an all around and I came specifically for the SQUASH. #Yum!

As Good as the service is… I would have loved to have better seasoned tenders and gravey… with that being said… It was my first visit and I enjoyed the atmospher.

I recently traveled to Texas for Christmas vacation. I am from Texas, but now live in Idaho. All my family lives in Texas.
While I was there, I asked where to get a good chicken fried steak. My parents told me they like to go here. So here we went.
Since these are Texas Chicken Fried Steaks, I will rate it like this. If this had been served here in Idaho, I would have given it a 10 out of 10.
These people in Idaho have no idea how to make a real Texas Chicken Fried Steak.
We were here around 2pm, so we were given a choice of lunch or supper. In other words, the small or the large portion.
I ordered the supper (large) portion of Chicken Fried Steak (CFS). My daughter had a medium well sirloin Steak.
The CFS was what I would consider a lunch portion. But I was fine with this. I suspect that the kitchen messed up and gave me the lunch portion, but I was fine with the sie of the steak, so I didnt say anything.
My dad who ate with me here as well got the lunch sized portion of CFS. Both of ours were the exact same size. A pretty good confirmation that the kitchen did indeed mess up.
The CFS was good and crispy. The batter looked identical to what was on their other Chicken Fried things.
The batter was crispy as I would expect for a good CFS. I give this part of it a 10 out of 10.
The meat inside of the batter was pressed down, not very tender and just didnt look of taste that great. This part of it I will give a 4 out of 10.
A good CFS should be so tender that it cuts with a fork and practically melts in your mouth.
The gravy that goes on the CFS is just as important as the CFS itself. The gravy was good. I will give this part of the CFS a 7 out of 10.
The flavor of the CFS is very important. Even though the CFS met most of the other criteria for a good CFS, it had very little flavor. On the flavor scale, I give it a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.
That makes this CFS get an overall score of around 6. It was not the best I have ever had, but not the worst either.
Oh yeah, the sirloin steak was pretty poor. It was overcooked and pressed down and dry. It had little flavor and was just ok.

This place is so so. Had to wait a bit before our server came to the table. Server was very nice but not on top of her game. Food was very good! Only 2 stars for mediocre service and nasty foul women’s room.

Went yesterday and the food was great. It was clean, fast and hit the spot. We had a waitress that was very on top of things.

Lunch today with a friend, her choice. The waitress was happy to make her substitution if veggies instead of rice & she enjoyed her entrée. I had the strawberry salad off the lunch menu. Delicious & perfect portion.

l have always loved this place and the steaks. But the sirloin steaks have gone down hill. l have only had one bad meal there it was on a sunday. mangers are nice

I went in to get a Dr pepper cake to go and while I was waiting for it near the front I saw one of the cooks put hot fried foods on several plates with his bare hands.
I e-​mailed Cotton Patch from their web site to report this and no one replied.
I can’t help but think about all that burnt dead skin sticking to french fries and stuff. Gross.

Something has changed here. The past couple of times I’ve been, it’s seemed a bit «off». Last time I ordered my usual veggie platter, and get lukewarm veggies and broccoli that was turning grey. Yes, grey. Unedible. French fries had the consistency of sitting under a heat lamp all day. Soup was only lukewarm. Wait staff was not friendly and offered no refills. The bacon pieces in the black eyed pies were pink and undercooked. Everything was just so unappetizing, which was not normal for this location. I can’t put my finger on it, but the past several times I’ve been here the food has not been the same as it used to be. One day, a couple sitting next to my table even made the comment that their «usual» platters were not of the same quality as in the past, and seemed as disappointed as we were. I’m not sure what’s going on, and it’s sad because this used to be my ol’ standby. Now, I just really have no desire to eat here.

Was in Lake Worth and hungry so gave’em another try here. I had the Chicken fried steak, wife had the chicken fried chicken. both wore great. Always enjoy their rolls & they keep bringing them. The hostess didn’t seem too happy to be there but our waiter was great, there when we needed him. Monday nite the cfs & cfc are $ 6.99 great deal! Last time must have been a bad nite. Won’t be afraid of this location now.

I Have Never Ever Been Here. My Girl And I Went Today For The Very First Time, We Will Be Back. I Had A Chicken Fried Steak, She Had A 6oz Sirloin. It Was Really Good.

Had the shiner fish and chips and they were amazing. Lots of things on the menu looked good. Will be back.

Kind of hit and miss. We had two very nice meals but the third was just bad!

This is a casual sit-​down restaurant with a mix of southern food, hamburgers, and American classics. Service has always been adequate, have never had a problem when dining.
Faves are: the dinner rolls served before the meal and a blackberry cobbler for dessert. The rest of the dishes I’ve had have been tasty. They offer beer and wine.

Food is good but ordering food is not so great. Ordered some food the other day and when I got there to pick it up, they had no clue about the order.
