Do not call this company to repair your air conditioner. They have come to my home twice and the air conditioner worked for 1 month each time.

Arthur Hagar is the real deal… a company that stands behind their work. When we built our home in 2009, they installed 2 units. Apparently there was a mis-communication between us and the builder, as to what we were getting. To make a long story short, we contacted Wayne & Brett @ Arthur Hagar and they were extremely helpful in sending technicians out to check our units and explain that we got exactly what we ordered. They even gave us a case of filters for any inconvenience. Also, the technician discovered that the batteries in our thermostats were corroded and he cleaned and replaced them. In conclusion, «you get what you pay for» is true… we will be their customer from now on !

I have mixed feelings about this company. On the one hand, the technician appears to have done a good job. But here are the things that make me raise a brow: First off, their scheduling seems very strange to me. Basically, you schedule a day of the week and on that day, you can call after 8:30am to find out what 3 – 4 hour time frame they have you down for. You can request morning or afternoon, and they will try to honor it, but they can’t guarantee it. In our case, they were able to stick with the afternoon preference. On the day of your appointment, someone will call you approximately 15 – 30 minutes before the tech shows up. As for the actual experience, the tech went into the attic to check the unit. The next thing I knew, what sounded like every alarm in the house, went off. It seemed IMPOSSIBLY loud and went on for several minutes. Meanwhile, I’m in the house wondering what on earth is going on. I can’t make the alarms stop. I don’t know if this guy is dead or alive in our attic… I know, it’s an overreaction, but at that point, I was panicking. My dogs were freaked out. I didn’t know if I was supposed to take that as a sign of distress, emergency, or what. I tried to get his attention by calling out to him in the attic. I went most of the way up the stairs, but no matter how loud I said, «sir?» he didn’t respond. I don’t know if the poor guy has hearing damage, but if he hears that alarm very often, it wouldn’t be a surprise. Finally, I saw some light moving around, so I was at least able to deduce that he was okay and guessed that I would know something soon. I was just about to call his company to find out if I should be concerned about the alarms, when he descended and the alarms stopped. OMG, a little warning would have been fantastic! I understand that maybe he wasn’t expecting that, but he was able to make it stop… I would suggest maybe in the future making it stop, and then let the inhabitant/s know that it is okay and there’s no need to panic. I realize this requires a little more leg work, but it would have been greatly appreciated. Anyway, he found several problems and quickly resolved what he was able to right away. So kudos for that. He also showed me pictures on his phone of what he found in the attic. That was very helpful and appreciated. I did sort of feel like I had to drag answers out of him, like is it safe? Is the attic going to flood? etc… a little proactive passing along information would be great, but really, I think he did a good job, so I don’t want to complain too much. They had to come back to do some more work a few days later. Per my early morning phone call, I was told he’d be here between 12 – 3. At 3pm, I called to check on things and found out that we should have been told 1−4pm, and also that he was running behind because of another job. That’s really fine, but maybe it would have been good customer service to call us and tell us when they found out that he was running behind. It’s not a huge deal or anything, it just seems like a good thing to do. Most of the people I spoke to in the office were pleasant enough. It just seems that their procedures/customer service skills could use a little work.

Arthur Hagar did a great job on my install. The salesman was very prompt on coming out, and showed up right on time. I was out of air, so they gave me the most competitive bid I had yet received, and had me cooling the very next day. Installers were professional and thorough. Really couldn’t ask for more. Very glad I chose to do business with them.
