Dr. Welch is the exception to the rule. I am very grateful for her willingness to care and go the extra mile. I have had obstructive sleep apnea for probably 50 of my 58 years. Once diagnosed, I have had multiple surgeries to improve the situation. With age, things get worse. Even diligently using CPAP, I was unable to get restorative sleep. In desperation, I started doing online research and saw Dr. Welch’s You Tube on the Aveo Tongue Retaining Device. Before a surgery in 2004 I had successfully tried an experimental device similar to this and knew that it had helped then. I called 20 different dentists in my area who all wanted to sell me on dental devices I had tried and knew did not work. None was familiar or willing to admit knowledge of the relatively inexpensive tongue retaining device – probably for the very reason that it is not a big revenue maker for them. So I called Dr. Welch in Florida. To my surprise, Dr. Welch was willing to call me on the phone and discuss the tongue retaining device even though I live in Virginia. Based on that information, I scheduled an appointment with a medical doctor here, who, based on my long history, was willing to write the prescription in order that I could try the device. The device helps a great deal although I have to wear it together with nasal pillows CPAP. Most important of all, I can sleep through the night and feel human again. Thank you very much for being a professional and caring person Dr. Welch! I am very grateful.

I have been going to this dental practice for the last 3 years or so. My very last visit was a scheduled routine cleaning. I was there for 2 + hours basically listening to a sales pitch! They were trying to get me to pay for a DNA test, $ 180, not covered by insurance. A DNA test??! Give me a break! They were using scare tactics to try and convince me that it was something I needed, and that I needed to get it done asap. Even after all of that… They didn’t clean my teeth!!! They push too much fancy stuff while neglecting the basic services that would keep you out of trouble in the first place. It wasn’t the first time I’ve left her office feeling like she was trying to sell me something my insurance wouldn’t pay for.(Side note, I have excellent insurance) It was also the second time they told me that they weren’t going to be accepting my insurance for too much longer, and I needed to hurry and get any and all work done by a particular date. This happened a year ago, and they still accept it. Dr. Welch is a dental charmer. She is likable and very confident, but sales come before care and I’m not buying it!

Great dental practice! My 4 year old daughter loved it and so did I. I’m currently pregnant and they took great care of me and addressed my concerns. Both my hygienist and my daughter’s hygienist were awesome! I even got an oral cancer screening, which was amazing, since oral cancer is a big deal(but easy to treat if caught early!). Bonus: it’s very affordable! Dr. Welch is a super friendly and very intelligent dentist. It’s obvious she’s dedicated to the health of the whole person, not just dentistry. She is very thorough and does not limit her interest in a patient at just the mouth. They will be able to help my husband with is sleep apnea issues, too. I was so impressed. Very happy my friend referred me to this practice!
