On the way back home I did a Unilocal search for Cuban and went here because it was close. They were just closing but I was cheerfully served the daily special. Service was cheerful, fast and the food quality was very good. I am a sucker for food plantains(maduros) and these were excellent. Soft and firm on the inside, crispy outside. Loved the pork fricase — it was the very inexpensive daily special. I will be back.

Around the Bell Towers area during lunch hour. Today I decided to try San Luis Cuban Café for the first time. This is a working class place for Cuban breakfast, lunch and early dinner. It is hidden way back behind Outback and Saigon Bistro. You can easily miss this place! The ambiance is nice and clean with 12 tables. Right behind the Bar Area, ladies are busy cooking! My plan was to try the Friday daily special, Chilindron de Chivo or Goat on Sauce. Last minute, I switched to Palomilla Steak or Bistec Palomilla a la Pancha with black beans on white rice and sweet plantains. It was a lot of food for lunch and delicious. Perhaps next time try the breaded steak or chicken with yellow rice or beef empanadas. The waitress is helpful, courteous and friendly! Overall rating is outstanding. This will be on our regular lunch list now!

Ambiance is simple but okay — clean & nice. Food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Three of us had the chicken fricase special and one had the variety plate. We all raved about it. By the way, all four of us just returned from Cuba. The food here is better. The owner has been in the US for 6 years and is a spark to the experience.

I could of made better cuban sandwich at home. They use sliced lunch meat ham and very little pulled pork. Will not go here again!

Best place for Cuban food in Fort Myers!!! I have been there numerous times and have never been disappointed. The staff is alway friendly. The service sometimes a little slow when it’s busy, but well worth the taste buds when food arrived. My mother is from Havana and I grew up eating many Cuban dishes. Don’t tell her this but I think the black beans at this place are better than hers… I recommend this place to anyone wanting authentic Cuban food, they got about everything there from the food, flan, Cuban coffee, and iron beer. My only wish for this place is that they had longer hours of operation.

Don’t give up if you can’t find them at first, they are a «hidden gem» behind Outback Steakhouse. Worth a try. Friendly staff, very affordable good Cuban food. There were 7 of us and we had verity of dishes. Sandwiches, stake(made 3 different ways) and of course mango juice!

Just ate there and enjoyed it very much. The san luis cuban sandwich was excellent. The cuban coffee was also quite tasty. My wife had an omlette, which had plantaindls and green peppers and enjoyed it as well, sadly I can’t remember the name. They don’t have unsweetened tea, and that was lost in translation, i thought she said we only had unsweetened tea. Not being a fan of sweet tea I was pleasantly surprised as their sweet tea has more of a sweet lime flavor and was absolutely delicious. The prices were incredible and the portions enormous. I’ll be back!

A bit hard to find, but worth the search. One of the best cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had– amazing pork and bread. By far the best red beans ever!

I am from Miami, so I know Cuban food. I ordered a breaded steak and it was too greasy. I’ve had this dish more times than I can remember and it was over breaded and over fried. The beans were also a little bland and not thick enough in my opinion. I will come back and order a sandwich or try another dish but would never order this again.

Quaint little café off the beaten path. Ordered ham croquets to go for a house party. The croquets were amazing. Will definitely be back for a full meal in the future.

Generous portions. Food was authentic. Recommend pork chunks & Cuban sandwich. Beef empanadas were huge & we plan to go back for more.

Had the roast pork with white rice and black beans. Well seasoned food. Side of tostones was not good, dry and chewy. Probably frozen

A lot of food for the money. Great combinations of flavors. Love the empinadas. Thet don’t serve unsweetened tea. I imagine the food is pretty authentic. Daily specials help you save more.

Absolutely awsome! I love Latin cuisine but rarely find good authentic quality Cuban/Latin food that isn’t either fusion or sacrifices quality to to be cheap eats! This place has it all! First visit had the pork chunks with fried plantains appetizer, black beans, Jupina(pineapple soda) and a flan. 8÷1÷15 Unfortunately it appears this place has changed management or ownership again, popped in for some chicharones, and was told they didn’t make them anymore? Also the pastry case was empty, it was about 1pm and the place was dead! Very disappointed as my office has moved farther away and drove across town to eat here. Dropped a star, but if it stays open, hopefully we’ll have a great Cuban place, there aren’t many GOOD ones around the Fort Myers area.

I stopped here for a quick breakfast. It was quaint! The coffee was fantastic! Service was good. Calm atmosphere. Excellent prices– in fact, I had to get an extra bottle of water to make my meal meet the $ 5 credit card requirement! I wouldn’t say I was blown away but it was great for the price and it was quick!

What a great little ‘find’!! Located in the rear of the Outback Restaurant on 41. What a little treasure. Food is great. Prices are very reasonable. Waitstaff are wonderful. A rare jewel for Fort Myers. Paul V.
