This is a nice break from the large national chain hotels. I made my reservations through AAA and . They have motel rooms on the north side of the highway, and ‘cabins’ on the south side, nestled around a lake(we call them ponds where I come from). The Unilocal map displays the cabin side of the business. My 1st night, I arrived late and found my room without difficulty. In spite of the rain, I was able to walk under the canopy and stay relatively dry. Once inside, I pretty much just went to bed. The air/heat unit worked well, and since it was mounted away at the other end of the room, it really didn’t bother me much. The next morning, I visited the front office and asked about the rates for cabins. Since they had one becoming available, I opted to move across the street that afternoon. The cabins are duplex style, two cabins share a wall with separate patios. Double doors open to the covered and enclosed patio area. It has a couple tables and seating for 4, convenient when you want to sit outside for morning breakfast or evening refreshments. The interior of the cabin was laid out nicely, with a single master bed, a closet with sliding mirrored doors, and a stand-up shower in the bathroom. The kitchenette contained an electric stove, a small refrigerator, a microwave and a small coffee maker. There were pots and pans, as well as table service for 4. Hair dryer and ironing board with iron can be obtained from the front office. One detractor about the bed(both in the motel side and the cabin side) — the pillows are pretty flat. You kinda need to double them up for comfort. There were a couple small, inconspicuous notes mounted over the sink in the kitchenette. One pertained to sanitation of dishes, the other spoke of the hot water. Yes, they have hot water. It is piped in from another building. For cabin #2, it takes 5 to 7 minutes for the hot water to arrive(for real). So turn on the tap, go bake a cake or do some shopping in town, and somewhere along the calendar, hot water will arrive. Okay, so it wasn’t quite that bad, especially if one of your neighbors takes a shower before you and runs the hot water. Then it is instantaneous. The heat/AC worked well. A window in the bathroom and one over the ventilation unit can be opened for fresh air. They have a pool on site, as well as tennis courts. I don’t play tennis, but the tennis area looked like it might need a little sprucing up. The pool remained unused by anyone for the duration of my stay(it was January). The office personnel did a great job in accommodating my requests. Always cheerful, I didn’t hesitate to converse with them. Check in and check out were accomplished without effort. Free WiFi login and access was reliable. I recommend this lodging for anyone from single and couples, up to a small family.

Do yourself a favor and STAYAWAY! The place is managed by the wicked witch of the west(coast) named Heather. No customer service skills whatsoever. Seems like the place USED to be decent back in the days but is so mismanaged that it is not a pleasant place to stay. Will NEVER-EVER go back. Take heed.

Amazing magical place! We went on our first family trip here and had a blast! Heather was really nice when we checked in and left(allowed us to check out an hour late). The rooms are clean and you are given everything you need as far as utensils for your kitchenette. Tons of cable channels on the TV. There are free kayaks and canoes to use, a tennis court and a great nature walk(although some planks on the walk need fixing). The beds were comfortable and the place is safe and right on the ocean. Literally everything you would want to do is within 15 minutes away. Fort Meyers beach is about 25 minutes and worth checking out. For the value and comfort and cool cottages and dolphin waterfalls– you can not beat Rock Lake Resort! We can’t wait to visit again!

The name is actually Rock Lake Resort, but it looks like a Motel. I would NOT recommend anyone stay at this«hotel» until they REALLY clean up. They should first get a cleaning crew because one person cannot clean and be at the front office. I’m only giving it that one star because it had the basic amenities but the room smelled stuffy and moldy and it DEFINITELY wasn’t cleaned well. But because of the location, I guess it is considered clean. However, there is a very good pizza place RIGHT next door and they give military discounts.

Throwback to the 60’s right next to downtown. Clean, quiet and a great deal for the money. Trust me, contrary to some of the TripAdvisor reviews you will have no problems here… and this is coming from someone who lives in Bonita Beach!
