Just had sushi. Service was extremely slow. I had the Florida roll and the Tom Kha soup with shrimp. The Florida roll was pretty basic, but the soup was very good. Nothing about this place really stands out, it’s just another sushi place.

The food here is excellent! Their bento box lunch is what I have been coming for, lately. They give you one of several Thai dishes that you decide upon, jasmine rice, a California roll, and the choice of a soup or a ginger salad. Seriously not bad for $ 8.95 and up! The only reason that I take away a star is that the service is friendly but a little slow. When I’m on my lunch break I really want to get in and out with no stress. Bottom Line: The food it flavorful and it always comes out the way you order it. I like spicy food so when I say 9 stars-spicy I MEAN it! Don’t go easy on me(and believe me, they don’t). I can handle it. It is definitely worth checking it out! Yum! –Alexandra Drouhard

Our first trip here was based on a groupon purchase and we came for dinner. The hibachi tables were busy, but we preferred the dining room, anyways. The waitress we had was very friendly, almost to friendly, but I was ecstatic when she understood what it meant when I said I had a gluten allergy. We heard her go behind the counter and explain to the sushi chef that he needed to change gloves and use care not to cross contaminate my meal. Score! I forgive her for telling me too much about her roommate. We liked the diversity in the menu– lots of noodle dishes and other items you may not get at a regular sushi place. I just returned for lunch today and sat at the sushi bar. The service was quick and friendly, but not too over talkative. The quality of the sushi I ordered was very fresh and well made. We may come more often. A nice alternative to some of the sushi places in town that are all about the martinis and image. If you’re local, you know who I’m talking about!!!

My husband and I left after sitting around waiting for our server to take our order for 30 minutes, on what was not a busy night. The only thing we purchased was his Jasmine tea, which was laughably bad, with leaves floating loosely throughout. We were starving and didn’t want to find out if the food was as lackluster as the service. Be forewarned though– Nami openly uses Escolar, which is often paraded as «super white tuna» and will have you sitting on the toilet for hours in gastrointestinal distress.

I was in the area visiting my grandparents and this is their typical go-to Japanese place and I can definitely see why. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi which came with miso soup, ginger salad, and fried rice and veggies. I am typically not a fan of fried rice, but this place had the absolute best I have ever had. I could not stop eating it! The portions were absolutely huge — I had enough left over for lunch the next day and it reheated up pretty nicely. The staff was so kind to our entire group the whole time. If I am ever in the Fort Myers area again I will definitely be returning!

No one at the door to greet me. Made my own way to the sushi bar. Waiter was MIA most of the time so ordered everything through sushi chef who was kind, but not terribly knowledgeable. Soda was disgusting and clearly had a problem with the soda machine and/or hadn’t cleaned out their soda machine in some time. Soy sauce tasted like expired soy sauce/old/spoiled. Sushi served on noticeably dirty dishes around the edges. That said sushi tasted good, all things considered. When I paid at the end, I wasn’t given correct change. I am a huge fan of their other restaurant origami but am shocked at the difference in quality and service, being only a matter of miles from one another.

Our go-to Habachi. Top quality food, nice waitstaff amd entertaining chefs. Better sushi than most in this style. A great choice.

Our first time at this place and this part of town, actually. The gentleman who greeted us was great. He gave us a quick rundown of what they offered so we opted for the dining section rather than the hibachi since we had our boys with us. The place looked great and we were excited to get our food but this is where things went SOUTH big time. After patiently waiting for more than 10 mins without being waited on, it took the guy who greeted us to get our drink order and you got to know that this place want even busy! It was only then that our waiter showed up with the drinks and she didn’t even apologize for the delay(strike 1). I asked her about the spice level on a certain dish to which she responded to me with vague remarks and a question asking me whether I wanted it 1 – 5. I asked her twice to define the spice level but I was getting really frustrated at this point and my wife and I decided to wing it with a conservative 2(strike 2). The food took more than 20 mins to arrive: a shrimp lo-mein and a Thai seafood platter, simple dishes in my opinion. Food was ok but the reality is that the lackluster service had already killed my appetite. We finished our meals, again the waitress was nowhere to be found yet we noticed various times that she had time to mingle and chitchat with other customers. We had to flag another one to get us our drink refills and also to pick up the empty dishes. Strike 3 came when we got our check. This woman had the audacity to lie to my face by saying that our Groupon required that the tip be included, something that is a complete lie. I did not want to confront her knowing that it would be hard for me to remain civil so I decided to get the host. I explained the situation and he agreed with me. He made her redo the check by removing the tip. I obviously did NOT reward her crappy service. Needless to say, I will not come back here ever and I am making sure that people I know, are aware of the type of service you would expect if you come here.

Second visit and things were much better. Still not quite a 5 star place but it was good this time. I ordered the fried basil rice and chicken. My daughter ordered a lunch special both were good.

The service was terrible, the food was awful and our chef made us VERY uncomfortable. After arriving a large party of 8 were seated with us and after quite some time with no one taking a dinner order they decided to leave. My wife and I figured that this would make a nice private dinner and decided to tolerate the TERRIBLE service. After our order was finally taken and more time passing our chef finally came out. He began to tell us that he had been arrested that morning at 4AM for DUI and had only been released hours ago and was indignant that he was being forced to work. RIGHT!!! I KNOW!!! I guess that Nami has sick days, personal days, but forgot the incarcerated days for their employees. Our food was terrible and the chef explained that he was given no formal training, but just«learned by watching». Well it showed. He told us his only training was to cook for three tables of employees and then set free to set our food ablaze. We struggled several times as whether to leave or not and staying was the biggest mistake of the week. We did get to see the owner walk through the restaurant carrying in boxes of food from Costco back to the kitchen which was some what comical. We visited Nami based on a recommendation from people we sat with at Kumo, another restaurant in Cape Coral, and I am sure that they said it with a giggle. I have never written a review on Unilocal and only write this in hopes that others will not endure the TERRIBLE experience that we did.

We had hibachi and thought it was ok. The positives first — I liked the rice and the meat was good quality… I had shrimp and chicken. I didn’t care for their sauce. Overall, I felt it didn’t taste any different from a stir fry I can make at home. And, that takes out the fun of going to get hibachi. I couldn’t tell if the vegetables were fresh. They were cut an unusual size for hibachi style… some were tiny and some were big. Just not a fan. I’ve had better hibachi for the same price.

Finally an Asian restaurant in Ft Myers I can go to. Lunch specials, they have habachi style dinners as well. Located at the same strip mall as Jason’s Deli. A little tricky to find. Although it faces Cypress Lake rd, it is blocked by trees, etc. Staff friendly, service is quick, décor is decent, food is excellent. Plenty of free parking in its private lot. Good place for a date, family gathering, business luncheon.

I love eating at Japanese steakhouses every once in awhile. This one didn’t disappoint. Food was fresh, service was good and I must say our cook kept us entertained. You get the most bang for your buck if you order between 5 — 6 pm on a weeknight. Prices are lower then!

I ordered the Rainbow roll for an appetizer and for main course I had the chicken hibachi. Food is good. A little pricey for smaller portions compared to Kumo in Cape Coral. Taste was more bland, but still good quality food.

I love Japanese hibachi restaurants and this one delivers both great sushi and hibachi(cooked)… Service was a little slow for my taste but the food was fresh. I would have given it 5 stars had the portions been larger.

Best sushi in Fort Myers! Best sushi in Fort Myers! Ask for Mama-son(if she is working) to make her special hot sauce to dip sushi in. It enhances every roll! Come try a roll at the place where many of the other local chefs learned how to roll sushi! Mamma-son made a «Scooby-Doo» roll. Krab(and other goodies) with salmon wrapped around the outside, then broiled for just a few minutes to sear the outside. It melts in your mouth. all warm and amazing. I ate four rolls, and wanted more! I will become the Duke!

NICEPAN-ASIANJOINT We stopped in here for dinner the other night and quite enjoyed the meal. The tossed salad with ginger dressing was typical of Japanese restaurants and quite good. For dinner, I had the Walnut Shrimp with fried rice. It was okay but the shrimp had a very thick tempura type coating with a syrupy sauce; it could be toned down a bit. My wife had the Thai Basil Vegetable Stir Fry with Shrimp and it was delicious. For dessert: what else? — Red Bean Ice Cream. Excellent. Happily, there were several other tables with diners. If you have teens or small children and want to giggle, try the teppanyaki grill. Oh, by the way, Nami means wave(as in tsunami).

I’ve only had their panang curry duck and ordered it for take out as opposed to dining there but the dish was good and very filling. On the two occasions that I have visited the establishment, I saw no or few customers. I hope that business picks up because, basing my opinion on the one dish I had, they have good food.

For a new Place they do serve fresh food. We ate at the Sushi Bar and had a fantastic meal. This place has reasonable prices compared to the old Japanese steakhouse that was there. We left without any room left for desert. As of this writing they were not open for lunch. Service 4 stars Food 5 stars Location 4 ½ stars
