This has to be The Worst Mexican resturant I have ever seen, not only is it a Dump the waitress looked at us like we were Checking for Green cards. we had to actually(after waiting 10 minutes) just asked if we could have a seat. There was maybe 10 or 12 people seated & the waitress Weren’t by any stretch busy, unless BSing with the other employee make you busy. After taking a look at the disgusting stained menus & sticky tables I was looking for some Purell to wash with. Now another 10 minutes of waiting I just wanted to be sure I didn’t have a I.C.E. uniform on. we left. I would give it No stars But I’m hopeful the star will be a meteorite & cleanse us of this &&$$&ing dump.

We tried la casita for the first time and our food was great. I had the wet burrito with chicken which the waiter recommended and I could barely eat half of it since the thing was huge! My husband loved his tacos and my 5 year old gave two thumbs up on the chicken tenders. I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars just because the building needs a bit of care. I love non chain places and we will definitely be coming back!

Just off McGregor Ave. It’s casual and no-frills. When it’s busy they seem to be short staffed but the servers do their best to keep everyone happy. We’ve been here three times. There were no highs and no lows. Just pretty average across the board. We’ve ordered tacos, burritos, carne asada and chicken soup. They’re all A-Okay but nothing to be excited about.

The food was great and the plates come with more food than one person can eat. It is a little more expensive than most mexican restaurants but again it comes with so much food most plates can be split. On the evening we came the service was slow but the restaurant was very busy and the waitress was working very hard to take care of all of her tables. When the food came out it tasted great.

Gave this place 2 stars, but I would never return here. Service not bad, place is dirty, and to say the food is marginal would be a compliment. Ate there tonight, hope I don’t get sick.

I struggle to give this place anything more than 3 stars, as anything more would be lying and anything less would be hard to explain. Went with a total of 6 people, to celebrate a birthday for someone from out of state. Due to the even set of the group, we all had a coupon that could easily be split between the crowd. It was one of those Buy one get one half or something to that effect — it’s always in the coupon book you get at the stores.* The place was pretty busy at one point in the meal, and the waiter we had, was the only one working the room. He had a lot of tables to handle, and very little time to breathe. He was friendly when he approached everyone and did make an attempt to rectify any situations. One of the problems that we ran in to, was actually my order. I had ordered the chicken burrito. There are two options with the burritos — wet(extra sauce with extra cheese) or dry(just normal amount of cheese). I ordered dry. When I got my meal, I was cutting in to it, and it was not only sopping wet(completely drowning in sauce), it wasn’t chicken. We were able to flag the waiter down and get a replacement ordered. A few minutes later, I got my dry chicken. And yes, there were actually a few pieces in this giant wrap thing, that were dry. No matter how I dug into it, the cheese was overpowering — there must have been a full pound of if on the burrito. Once I was able to get through it, I found the rest of the meal to be okay; nothing to completely say I’m a fan or feel compelled to order again. Some of my group said the same thing about their meals. This brings me to the fact, like other people have stated, that the portions are out of control. The people ordering burritos got a meal for two — very easily shared, minus the fact the sides(rice and beans) are 1 scoop part of the dish. The main attraction can be cut in half and saved for later. Which is what one of the people in my party wanted to do, had it not been way too much food was it was. These were one of those meals, where no matter what you ordered, it made you feel as if the meal were done after two bites. No one cleared their plates as we left too full to breathe. Will anyone of us be back so quick? It’s really doubtful, but thanks for trying! * Coupon fine print states you must order 2 drinks to use the deal. Because we were so busy catching up with everyone and wanting to try the place out, the beverage part went over our heads… until we all got the checks and saw two $ 2.50 charges on the bill. The waiter knew we were using the coupon and not once did he mention the terms and conditions. It was only when we questioned why there was a soda charge, did he explain that it’s how they need to use the coupon. It states right on the paper that a drink must be purchased. We apologized and stated that we didn’t think to read the very bottom. He said it’s okay, but tried to make good and offer to take the charges off. We didn’t want to make the situation worse, so we kept it on(stupidly, because it WAS our mistake). Afterwards, the conversation among the group was, if we had seen it, we would have ordered something(number 1) and he should have mentioned throughout the hour and change we were there, that a product needed to be «purchased»(number 2). So both parties were, in a way, at fault.

Overpriced, food was neither bad nor good, salsa was lacking flavor, tastes like a bowl of canned tomatos, chips had no flavor. My entrée was ok, I’ve had better. This was my «second chance» visit. I probably won’t return.

Good mexican food. Nothing spectacular but nothing was terrible. The chips were stale but the basil chicken was tasty. Ill be back someday but its not on the top of my list.

Awful! Terrible! Horrible! My fiancé and I got incredibly sick at this place. It was the only time we had eaten together that day, and about 6 hours later we really regretted it! Not only that, we were promised a refund, but when I went to collect, we were told it had been too long(10 days), and a refund wasn’t possible. It’s dirty inside, and I would steer clear, just a suggestion.

This was the worst food ever put on a table. I cannot believe this place stays in business. I ordered a burrito and the slop set in front of me was not fit for human consumption. First it was so microwave hot it could not be put in your mouth without third degree burns, and cutting into this thing and the soupy slop that fell out made me want to vomit. The chicken was out of a bag and God only knows what the rest of the blender slop was. I will NEVER step foot in this joints parking lot, let alone actually going back in! Do yourself a favor — drive right by this joint

Far from authentic cuisine. Tried a couple of times because the location is convenient. Rice and beans classic American bland.

My dad and mom have been raving about this place since last year, probably a main reason they Came back to FT Myers. FOODWASAMAZING and big portions. Don’t expect to finish it in one sitting. Why should you? Let it last a few days it only gets better. I enjoyed a burrito and the chicken was incredibly flavorful(also shredded) food was excellent. No complaints here :) Service was also speedy :-P

As we locals referred to it… The purple Mexican place. Excellent food. Absolutely LOVE their homemade nachos and freshly made salsa. I’ve had just about everything on the menu over the years and only maybe twice ordered something that wasn’t my taste. The staff is friendly and usually very efficient. Only once when we sat outside did we have an off day with the service. Other than that, no complaints. Definitely recommend it to locals and snowbirds alike.

Visited while on vacation. I love Mexican food, this place was ok. They offer free chips and salsa. Chips were great, salsa was lacking a bit of spice… or somethin’. Our order: fish tacos, carne asada tacos, burrito. Comments from party: fish tacos lacked taste, so did the carne asada. Burrito was really good. Food took a while to come out. Service was good overall. The restaurant is decorated nicely, very«what you would expect a Mexican place would look like if you are American». Not a bad experience over all, also not a great one.

HOLYWETBURRITO! after seeing the tip on Unilocal — I just had to order the vegetarian wet burrito. I did my best to eat every last bite but the portions are HUGE. I would go back every week if I could. Also, they give you chips and salsa to enjoy as soon as you sit down. Indoor/outdoor seating available!

The building is neat and tidy on the outside so I decided to ignore the bad reviews and give it a shot. I visited on a Thursday evening and didn’t have an issue with getting seated or service. Inside was just as neat and tidy as the outside. Things looked clean to me so I’m not sure what was going on when others had issues. Food arrived promptly. I had fajitas. They didn’t arrive sizzling in a skillet but they were hot and tasty. My friend had carne asada he’s Honduran and eats there often. He said he’s never had a bad meal there. Before I left the place had almost filled up. It looked as though people were seated and waited on promptly. I overheard the lady seated behind me tell the waitress that her meal was excellent. I’m a little puzzled at all the negative reviews now because I expected that I would be disappointed and I really wasn’t. Again it’s a cute little restaurant and it looks like the owners and employees take pride in the place. I returned for another meal here and again it was very good. Had a relleno that was excellent. I really don’t get the negative reviews.

The flavor of the food was very good although I was suprised that I had to order hot sauce for my meal and they didnt have anything home made. Just a bottle of sauce that needed a good cleaning. It had been refilled many times as the lable was peeling off and it was covered in someone elses meal. The bad part was my food was cold. Not even room tempature, not even warm. Nothing worse than a cold burrito. Not even the outside was hot. You can also by pass the guecamole as mine came out almost black in color. Thats a sign that it was made earlier. I had the refried beans and the flavor was 5 stars, but the portion was about a ½ spoon full. An inexpensive item to make and they gave you just a small amount. Did I mention the ½ spoonfull of rice. They should have kept that in the kitchen. Also my burrito was $ 16.50 which for this place is over priced. We did not have a coupon and paid full price. Maybe their prices are higher to cover the cost of the coupon? Our waiter seemed to struggle to keep up with the crowd although it was busy there were only 2 to 6 people waiting at the door for a seat, so for this place not that busy. The waitress seemed on the ball and I wish we had been lucky enough to get her instead of our waiter. My guest had a taco salad with shredded chicken that they were very happy with. The portions are large so you get a lot of food for your money. The salsa is good but again, no hot sauce in the salsa… No way you can call this authentic mexican food. I have been to Mexico many times and usually you have to ask for Gringo hot… Food 2 stars(and this is genourse only because they had good flavor) Cleanliness 2 ½ stars Ambiance 3 stars Service 2 ½ stars Value 1 ½ stars although If you had the coupon I would say 3 stars
