They had a sign outside upon entering that said they provided full service, however, I’m not sure they exactly understand what that entails. I sat down with my girlfriend and had to get up after 15 minutes of being ignored to get a paper menu. Even after reviewing the menu, we waited a bit to see if anyone would serve us and continued to get ignored.

I have always enjoyed Kate’s Café but today the quiche was obviously out of box and not homemade. The orange juice was typical juice not fresh squeezed and the usual combo of homemade quiche, fruit, and artisan bread was now just mediocre flat quiche and a very small cup of fruit. So what has happened? I over heard a man at the next table say that Kate sold the business to a new owner. I believe it. It was quite mediocre today.

Came in early this am, about 9am, so right off the bat things did not go right, walked up to the register, and asked if I order or get a table, the cook/waiter was really busy as he had no other support he was already cooking for 4 other people in the café, plus I asked for coffee and he did provide but under great duress, his help arrived about 20 minutes later, to his relief. The Colombian coffee was surprisingly good, however my order could have been better, had the House specialty Biscuits and gravy plus eggs, the eggs were bland could have used just a tad of salt, the gravy had a strange grayish dark color why? It did taste good but could have been more presentable, the biscuit was very small, had to dig thru the gravy to locate it, the potatoes, we’re bland and boring, let’s add some onions and bell peppers to them make them colorful. I really like to support local businesses but it needs to be stepped up a notch.

Kate’s was quaint, full of options and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The only downfall is that it is in a strip mall, but that does seem common in FL. The wait staff was friendly; the menu decently priced; and I would return!

Such a delicious breakfast. 3 of us had the breakfast sandwich on croissants and it was fresh, and actually kind of light. The other one in our party had the banana, pecan Belgium waffle and she couldn’t stop raving about it. Kate’s doesn’t look like much from the outside but inside is cute and inviting. Comfy couch for taking your time and sipping on a cup of coffee. A bookshelf with books to share and lots of magazines for relaxing. Outdoor tables in a covered area. Excellent friendly service. Fun fact, with fear of sounding gushy — even the bathrooms were clean and felt like home.

Great food and attentive staff. The only complaint I would have is the location is in a shopping center. Otherwise, the espresso, breakfast and pastries were delish!

Dynamite breakfast for sure. And it’s not fast food so don’t rush it! Totally worth the wait!

A clean, cozy, café with nice décor and great food at a reasonable price. What’s not to like? Enjoy their outdoor seating for those nice days, or the small yet comfortable interior that includes a couch. Kate’s large, yet simple menu is easy to peruse. The food took a little time to get out, but they were BUSY, which tells me that people really like this place. The food was hot, good quality, and exactly as ordered. A variety of hot sauce was available too, to include sriracha! Order at the counter, give your name, then they find your table when your order’s ready. Even with this system, the service was still attentive. I was glad to have found Kate’s, and super happy that it surpassed my expectations. I’ll definitely be back for more.

Escaped winter snow for a few days in Fort Myers. Stopped in Kate’s Kafe what a great find. Comfortable, clean and great food. The bacon was exceptional. Left with a slice of pumpkin bread for later with a cup of coffe and so glad I did, homemade for sure. We will return with pleasure to this little gem.

Been here on many occasions as I live right around the corner. Sadly, overtime, this has become the last place I want to go for breakfast. There are no good diners very close to kates. One just opened closer to San Carlos Park but isn’t anything to rave about. Kates seems to use higher quality products and gives you good portions which is great since the prices aren’t bad. The problem is their kitchen. The kitchen size can’t keep up with the demand. The wait to get your food is always longer then the last time. Sometimes if you order it will take 45 mins on average. One time it was over an hour and they kept telling me «just a few more minutes» and as I was ready to walk out, I asked for my money back and at that time my food was ready. Another time it took about 50 minutes and I did ask for my money back and left. I know they stopped serving omelets because of the space it took up on the grill. It’s a real shame, because I like it here, the atmosphere, the food especially and since it’s so close to where I live. I haven’t been here in a while and I’m not sure when or if I’ll go back. I just hope they can fix their kitchen issues. Problem is almost always communication. It seems after years of being open they still don’t know how to judge time. If you think it’ll take an hour then say at least an hour. If it’s 35 mins say 45 mins. If they could let the customer know just how busy they were then sure they’ll lose business buts it’s better to be honest then have people walk out pissed off. And now they’re closed on a regular basis. Awesome

Really cute spot to grab some breakfast! This restaurant was located pretty close to the airport, so I figured it would be a good place to stop into before my flight. When you walk in the drink menu is huge, but for the food menu you have to grab one of their takeout menu’s to see what options they have. You order at the counter and then sit down and wait for your food. I went with some earl grey tea, french toast, and a side of sausage. The french toast was delicious, perfectly cooked! The sausage was great and even the fruit on the side of the french toast was a great serving size. I would certainly come back here for breakfast. My only complaint was when I went to use the bathroom the employee was in there cleaning it. I thought it was a weird time to clean the bathroom. As I mentioned I was heading to the airport right afterwards and literally had to wait outside the bathroom for at least ten minutes if not more while she finished cleaning it. She knew I was waiting. I would have let me use the restroom and then finish cleaning, not make me wait outside for quite a chunk of time when I was in a rush.

Just went for our first time. I had the classic eggs and bacon breakfast. My husband had a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. Both of us think the food is top-notch! Eggs were done perfectly. Bagel itself was very good. Also they have a smoothie/coffee bar. My iced latte was perfect! We will definitely be back… which is the sentiment of everyone apparently because this place is crazy busy!!!

We had looked up a highly rated Punta Gorda breakfast spot, but decided to find a place closer to Bonita Springs… They say, it is better to be lucky, than smart… Boy! Were we lucky to decide to bypass the recommended PG restaurant & pick Kate’s, instead! I read about their bread pudding and just as we arrived at the order counter, Lonna – the incredibly gifted baker of this delight – was creating a masterpiece of Pumpkin Bread Pudding w/caramel sauce & whipped cream… Quick! Hand me a drool cup… She mentioned there was ONEMOREPIECE remaining… Seriously! Was this not a sign from God? Of course, we snagged it… While we waited for our Breakfast Bagel(egg, bacon, cheese), we feasted on this insanely delicious culinary delight… I am not exaggerating when I say, I would’ve ordered another piece, had any more been available – our taste buds were rejoicing! I also had a couple cups of their House Blend coffee, which I doctored to my liking at their coffee bar… I would’ve preferred slightly hotter, but it still was quite flavorful. The B’Fast Bagel was quite good – fresh, hot & tasty, but after the bar was set by the Pumpkin Bread Pudding, we just couldn’t get overly excited about this standard b’fast sandwich… The service was very courteous & friendly. We arrived Sat ~10A, it was busy, but we still found inside seating. The wait time for our b’fast sandwich was 15 – 20 min, which might have felt long, were it not for the Pumpkin Bread Pudding… Lonna mentioned she is considering an Eggnog Bread Pudding version, next… I can only hope eggnog will still be available when we return, in January… Bravo, Kate’s! You have definitely earned our star of approval

This is one of the best breakfast spots in the Fort Myers area! Everything I’ve ever had from Kate’s has been flavorful, delicious and a great price. This time I had a breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint! It’s always busy(especially during season) so be prepared to wait — but it’s worth it! Make sure to try the homemade baked goods and their iced coffee!

Cute little family owned coffee café that serves breakfast and lunch. Was not crowded when we arrived so didn’t have any wait issues like some other posters. I ordered egg Sammy on a bagel and dining companion got the breakfast classic with potatoes, eggs and toast. Prices are great for simple food options. Several coffee options and I chose the Jamaican me crazy. The place looked clean and free wifi. Would come back to try lunch.
